@@Av-uv6xu messi had shown a level of phenomenal performance, excluding the stats, even if we exclude messi 91 goals in a year, the sheer amount of class he shows on the pitch is astonishing. Skill moving past 2 defenders is one thing, but can you imagine 1 player, just one, slicing through an entire defensive line, they had to create plans to stop him specifically. He wasn't the finisher, nor the play maker, he was the whole damn attacking force. Like pep said, "messi is number 10, 9 11, 8,7..." He does their job better than them(excluding defense and Gk ofc). Not to mention he stayed at that level for over 15 years. No decline, no aging, for 15 straight years he was the most dangerous man on the pitch. In his prime, no one, ot even cr7 touches messi. @@mikitesh247 With all respect to Messi, prime Ronaldinho was at least 1 point higher (in similar to fifa type of rating) than Messi. You might say Messi was very young when they played together but he never really gotten any much better since than, and back than Rolandinho was clearly shining over Messi. He was able to dribble like Messi but with such smooth ease of control of the ball and full vision whats happening around at the same time so he had all of the options available in his pocket, chosing what's best that rarely was smart to try and dribble the whole opposing team. Dribble one, two and pass, or shoot was usually wiser. Everything was top notch including dribble with Zizou ball control masterclass but on full speed. Messi looked more like head down one or two pony tricks, very powerful, with all respect to that, but Ronaldinho was the whole orchestra of skills and wisdom. Like Messi and Zizou combined, but with extra touch of something neither of them had. Cristiano technique looked noobish next to Ronaldinho, people consider Messi and Ronaldo who's better, there is no consideration, Ronaldinho clearly stronger than Ronaldo. 15 straight years of Messi career while prime Ronaldinho prematurely ended, that's the solid argument for Messi, but he never got as good as Ronaldinho, just extremely close.

But his true peak happened in 2011/2012 and 2012/2013. Lionel messi prime is by definition the entire attack force. All his team mates had to do was pass him. He had greater finishing than ronaldihno, he could dribble not 2, not 3, not 4 but 5 defenders on several occasions. He wasn't set up on the RW position so he only had 14 assists that year so his prime was more of a CF than a RW. I have seen 2002-2006 ronaldhino, his peak. He was the magician and combined with a striker they formed the whole show. Yk what messi was? The whole orchestra, the one man army. And 91 goals. NINETY ONE. Do yk how much skill that requires? I think he got 1/4th of all of ronaldihnos goals in 1 year. His dribbling was insane, his positions was incredible, but that messi had arguably the greatest finishing in history, anywhere inside the box is a guaranteed goal, messi had a 1 goal per 2.3 shots conversion rate that year, in other words per 2 shots, he had a goal. Out side the box was no different, his left foot just finds the comfy spot on the back of the net and strikes with deadly force and accuracy. Prime ronaldhino was beautiful, prime messi was terrifying.

I love seeeng these legends playing these games, just watching them play again, going back to their golden days. Beckham, Ronaldiniho, Scholes, Figo, Van Der Sar. Names we all remember, and seeing them play once again just like the good old days. It's magical. Was smiling for the whole game and so were they in almost every clip you saw. They were back to their glory days re-living it all one last time. Watching Beckham taking those set peices again was just glorious. He's still got it even all these years later.

it's not like players don't care about clubs, country and fans nowadays. It is rather that players 20 years ago had personality which very much affected them play style. Nowadays there is way more tryhard type of rat race, while back than players like Zizou or Figo showed the class of ball control, even dribbling without much racing, and the game was usually much more technical. So player like Beckam with great technical crosses in penaulty box was one of the biggest stars. Nowadays it's more about speed and strengh, back than it was more of a miind game, decision making, technique. Only Lewandowski can match them level of wisdom, but even him is lacking personality a tiny bit. Times change, people change, so players too.

You might say Messi was very young when they played together but he never really gotten any much better since than, and back than Rolandinho was clearly shining over Messi. Messi looked more like head down one or two pony tricks, very powerful, with all respect to that, but Ronaldinho was the whole orchestra of skills and wisdom. Like Messi and Zizou combined, but with extra touch of something neither of them had. Cristiano technique looked noobish next to Ronaldinho, people consider Messi and Ronaldo who's better, there is no consideration, Ronaldinho clearly stronger than Ronaldo. 15 straight years of Messi career while prime Ronaldinho prematurely ended, that's the solid argument for Messi, but he never got as good as Ronaldinho, just extremely close.

His dribbling was insane, his positions was incredible, but that messi had arguably the greatest finishing in history, anywhere inside the box is a guaranteed goal, messi had a 1 goal per 2.3 shots conversion rate that year, in other words per 2 shots, he had a goal. Out side the box was no different, his left foot just finds the comfy spot on the back of the net and strikes with deadly force and accuracy. Prime ronaldhino was beautiful, prime messi was terrifying.

I love seeeng these legends playing these games, just watching them play again, going back to their golden days. Beckham, Ronaldiniho, Scholes, Figo, Van Der Sar. Names we all remember, and seeing them play once again just like the good old days. It's magical. Was smiling for the whole game and so were they in almost every clip you saw. They were back to their glory days re-living it all one last time. Watching Beckham taking those set peices again was just glorious. He's still got it even all these years later.

I'm so glad I grew up watching these legends the greatest era, pure passion loyalty hunger desire and magic, just watching them again bought back my childhood their will never be such a feeling again this was the time players cared about their club country and the fans!
it's not like players don't care about clubs, country and fans nowadays. It is rather that players 20 years ago had personality which very much affected them play style. Nowadays there is way more tryhard type of rat race, while back than players like Zizou or Figo showed the class of ball control, even dribbling without much racing, and the game was usually much more technical. So player like Beckam with great technical crosses in penaulty box was one of the biggest stars. Nowadays it's more about speed and strengh, back than it was more of a miind game, decision making, technique. Only Lewandowski can match them level of wisdom, but even him is lacking personality a tiny bit. Times change, people change, so players too.
