In this episode, Me, Jen , and Gus head for the Duct Tape Drags in Tucson, Arizona in the 1974 El Camino. I love the channel as a senior who can’t travel. Thanks for taking me with you .
me too
This is such a cool part of KZhead. Always interesting to see how different viewers watch videos and why!
You are living the American dream man, fixing classic cars, beautiful wife at your side, dog, cross country trips, meeting amazing people along the way. I am the son of a mechanic so your videos have become very enjoyable to me. Keep it up. God bless America.
i like watching these kind of videos, your channel and VGG are the best to watch ,thanks for posting
Can't remember the last time my wife asked me " Have you checked the dumpster yet?"
"there's some really good stuff in here" nothing says 'Chris Brown' like that statement.
She accepts Chris with every little thing!!! I know how it feels like, so I'm happy for Chris))) hopefully we will meet one day and scavenge in a trash together and fix some cool stuff)))
A great thing is she is very frugal as he is mechanically smart. She goes to Thrift stores to shop while they are on the road. She got Gus the pet cage on their Torino trip( I think) from a thrift store really cheap. Great to have someone looking out for the family. Definitely a great team.
Truer word were never spoken.
My ex wife loved it in the Dumpster 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Jen is by far the best wife on KZhead. Endlessly in a great mood even camping in a micro tent on the asphalt, or broke down in a second parking lot. Cheers. I do live outside Raleigh. Shame what happened there this week.
I thought Jen is his sister.
@@ronru he calls her babe and baby, I’d say that’s his wife/gf lol
Yeah your wife is good with her hands n has a great attitude, Gus priceless
Definitely his g/f. And I think she’s half buzzed 90% of these videos.
Don’t think he thinks enuff of her to put a ring on her finger I haven’t seen one but isn’t that the mood of millennials these days? She definitely deserves a commitment from someone.
I'm perfectly fine with not seeing a video every seven days. If you up the pressure on yourself and it stops being fun for you, it will eventually stop being fun for us. Take your time, enjoy the time with your fine lady, and send some videos our way whenever they're ready.
Your creative mechanic skills are endless. MacGyver, eat your heart out .
So true. MacGyver fixed a carburator that lacked the return spring for the throttle on a Jeep with the spring from a push button pen, though... silly but true. :p
You are really onto something here. Most of our attention spans are too short to watch someone working on a car for an hour, but throw in travel scenery, drone shots, a charming lady and a cute puppy, and that will that will keep me watching. You are striking just the right balance in editing.
NNKH best show on KZhead.... keep em coming. 🙂
I can foresee a convoy road trip with many people doing one of these with you guys. I'm sure its coming.
Vind ik ook 😉
Vise Grip Garage is good too.
Good to see Derek and you both having a laugh 😀
I love these kind of trips
Props to the unsinkable Jen & Gus - great support team😊
One little thing you can learn about sbc is that bolt you see in front of the block at the fuel pump rod is for holding that rod while your installing the pump. Just unscrew that bolt and use a longer bolt the threaded hole to hold that rod up and put the pump in with bolts loose and take the longer bolt out finish bolting the pump up and install the short bolt back in and your golden.
Oh really? Never knew that. Thanks for the tip!
Yep, most always wonder want that bolt is doing there. You got it!!!!
Derek showed that tip in one of his videos, but I don't remember which one...
i made the same comment. cheers. hahahaha.
I just was putting small block Chevy fuel pump on an engine from Blueprint (the company that sells crate engines) the other day and come to find out that some later model castings are wierd and although they have the bolt there, it’s just a blind hole that wasn’t drilled all the way through to the fuel pump pushrod. Blew me away cause why else would you waste the time to drill just deep enough to tap it for a short bolt but not all the way trough to the pushrod. As far as I know that front bolt doesn’t serve any other purpose. And yes I poke around in the hole, it wasn’t just clogged with gunk. It was brand new engine (well fresh rebuild). A hacksaw blade or anything similar works real well to hold it up as you QUICKLY slide the pumps arm in under the pushrod, just make sure to turn the engine over till the pushrod is on the base circle of cam’s eccentric (retracted into the block furthest. This gives you more room and time to slip the pump arm under it before it slides back down blocking the opening!
This channel is amazing. Thank you for doing what you do. Jen is amazing as well.
Exactly 😂😂
Thanks for taking us along on your adventure...
NNKH hands down the best channel on KZhead for people who genuinely love the problem solving that comes with buying and fixing older cars. Always a great time.
I'm a Arizona native. Your videos are so awesome. I'm glad you guys enjoy our state. 🌞🌵
@ Roger Borgeson. I lived in Arizona for a year back in the early '90s, and will always consider it the most beautiful state in our nation!
I love your vids man just the way they are. You have the perfect mix of mechanical with personal and pet. You two do a great job just being yourself. I look forward to the next one :)
Chris, you are "living the life;" cross country trip in a classic, staying at top quality resorts, having the best food and brews, and best of all, an understanding lady by your side! Jen has a great attitude!
Wearing a Diesel Creek shirt is pretty cool. Your and his channels are my favorite.
Love these roadtrip videos, really nice to see how it's going over there other side of the world!
Your mechanical skills are second to none. Jen's attitude is amazing. Gus is a hoot as always.
I would love to know how you really learn all the ins and outs of complete car repair like you do, plus the amazing shop you have at home and how you're able to do so many things on the road with limited tools...
Could not agree more
Agreed. I teach automotive electronics and emissions and the HVAC and drivelines classes in the spring. Chris is much more thorough in sharing his knowledge of the way he does things illustrating procedure every step of the way.
You 2 are brilliant love your road trips jen has really warmed up to the camera you guys live life to the fullest
I am enjoying your road trips with random vehicles. The way you purchase a vehicle hundreds of miles away that have been off the road for many years and try to drive them hundreds of miles home seems like an adventure. Definitely good for the soul and I'm sure it would be a good bonding time for partners. Testing the relationship!
Jen's "check the dumpster" made my heart melt. All warm and fuzzy. Anyhoo...
I love your videos, I hope we don't have to wait so long for part 3 🙊🙊. Jen definitely loves the pools 😄 and Gus loves plastic bags 🤣. Greetings again from Germany
Laughed way to hard at “this pop socket SUCKS!” Haha
Thank you Chris Jen and of course... Gus so much.... I cannot express how much I love yalls work. You and Jen work soooo hard.... Yall Tha best looking couple hands down.... Thank you Chris ❤❤❤❤. We love all your videos... I mean all.... Yall so Dang cool. God bless you in Jesus name 🙏 ❤❤❤ 🙏

Like the hour long videos and enjoy seeing you'll together
Your road trip videos feel like you're taking us along with you 3, it's awesome!
Oh I love it ! Keep em comin ! I watch them all, DC, VGG, FSG, etc ! You are a very lucky guy with that woman with you !😊
Chris, you are either clinicly insane or the coolest guy on youtube Most people would scrap that car....but no you drive it 100s of miles and love it 😆
That bolt in front of the engine is the fuel pump rod access. Right in line with the rod. Pull that bolt out, put a longer one in to hold rod.
I really like the mechanical explanations and especially the experiment with fuel line positioning. What a great way to learn. (I know, easy for me to say.) And I really like the travel photography along the road, in the tents for motels, and the scenic views of the desert and mountains, and the sky. Great footage of the drone in the windstorm. I feel like I just watched a professional travelogue. thanks so much.
Enjoy watching you and Jen going on your adventures together, she's such a trooper. I like seeing you make repairs along your way and making it home with what you've acquired. Great KZhead channel 👍
Great series from great people! Thanks!
Great video. Thanks for posting and showing you can fix stuff on your own even with minimal tools and no garage.

Having been born and raised in phoenix, I always get tickled pink when I see my favorite KZheadrs in town and in the parts of town that I roam daily. Love your videos, I've learned a ton about Automotive mechanics from watching your videos recently, keep up the amazing work my friend!
Great video...I can't wait for the new "El Camino Adventures" but also the "Jen and Gus Adventures"...you guys are awesome!👍👍👍
NNKH just keeps getting better! I LOVE these trips you guys are doing!
I haven't before seen videos where you try and start them and then drive them all the way home. It's great. Reminds me of going on holiday as a kid. My Dad's old bangers would always break down on the way. Roadside repairs. Somehow we always reached our destination. Fond memories.
I could feel your frustration ! Glad to have gotten through that with you two. 😏
Those Roadtrips really bring out the early OG Roadkill vibes with them, keep it up cant wait to see if you guys accually flew home and left the el camino or if you drove it all the way home. Great content as always.
These vids are awesome!!! thanks for the effort and content and a lil donation for the cause! Take care!
I have a easy litte tip for you when changing a mechanical fuel pumps. Theres a stubby bolt in the front of the block even with the fuel pump rod. Before you start changing the fuel pump. Take the stubby bolt out then take one bolt out of the fuel pump and screw it in were the stubby bolt was it's a longer bolt. Scew it in by hand then snug it up now the fuel pump rod is secure. Change out the fuel pump screw the one bolt in then take the bolt you screwed in the stubby bolt hole. And don't forget to put the stubby bolt back in. Your welcome.
You guys are great, a joy to watch
Nice car!! kudos to you on your parking lot maintenance skills!! Jen is a keeper..babydoll looks, easy going, adventurous, beer drinker, talented singer (noted from other videos) As always looking forward to your next video... Be safe and be well!!!

Seeing out over the hood makes me nostalgic for my 74 Chevelle Malibu Classic. I need to do something with it soon.
Bar Hoppling with Jen and Chris!
The combination of the traveling and the car repair is amazing. A lot of other channels on KZhead only show when the car breaks down for the most part, but you have something special and pretty much take us through the whole trip. I really enjoy the content.
love this kind of content!! 🙏❤💪
Keep the videos coming they are great watching greetings from the 🇬🇧
Top class big man. You put any video out and we will watch, no doubt.
