Mulkey said she got word after the game that Poa’s scan at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville came back clean. “So that’s wonderful news,” Mulkey said. Poa, hurt in the fourth quarter, had gotten up with help and was slowly being assisted to the team’s bench. • @@GrowingWthePrestonsin a situation like that, you want the person who is injured for them to get up on their own OR have their arm extended; signally that they can try to get up. The teammate dragging her arm to force her to get up, is not a sign of the injured player saying “I’m okay, get me up.” When you get knocked silly like that, it can be a scary thing. I’ve seen it a lot, playing hockey. Best thing; if possible while falling is tuck your chin in. Your back may hurt, however the possibility of a hemorrhage to the brain or skull crack is less likely.

Crunches tucks in your chin so when you fall aggressively backwards, your back absorbs all the impact without your head tilting backwards and slamming the back of your head. I don't blame the players here - are they taught to not touch their teammates? Poa was reaching up to them asking for help to get up. The medical staff should have already been there and taken charge of the situation immediately. None of the players should have been allowed to move Poa because the medial team should have been there to make the proper decisions. Medical team only. Even lay people who follow sports know this protocol. This is now medical training on WHAT NOT TO DO for all teams and trainers across America. I really hope it is not serious, please, nothing serious.

The ref should be trained to see certain signs to call for assistance. This is sad but if they don’t answer with a statement addressing it - I will be disappointed. 2. I’m shocked not a single player from the other team ran over to check or came to check and give support even when a damn stretcher came out in a BASKETBALL game!
