Complete Chronology of Lineal Middleweight Champions - The Man Who Beat The Man

2023 ж. 22 Қар.
210 636 Рет қаралды

The lineal championship is considered by many to be the true title to hold. The man who beat the man. Dating all the way back to the first true champion and carried through to the current reigning lineal champ. An attempt to make sense of the muddled mess of the sanctioning bodies and the Alphabet titles. From the first middleweight champion to ever hold the title, Jack Dempsey, to the current lineal middleweight title holder (At least until someone unifies) Canelo Alvarez. Relive every exciting moment in the reign of some of boxings greatest warriors. From Sugar Ray Robinson, Marvin Hagler, Monzon, Leonard, Dempsey, and the raging bull himself. The knockouts, the comebacks, the upsets, and everything in between, this video tries to paint as complete a picture as possible of the line of champions, from beginning to present day.

  • Hagler vs Leonard is the fight that made my dad stop watching big-time boxing. He'll watch small club fights, but that's it. He still says to this day that the corruption and the robberies have ruined the sport. I agree with him. Hagler was robbed in that fight, and boxing now has become a joke, unfortunately. My dad boxed for 23 years. I boxed for 17 years. It's definitely not the same sport it once was.

  • I don't know a huge amount about the history of boxing pre 80s really , I've heard of Sugar Ray Robinson but never seen too much of him , this was perfect to get a glimpse of him , guy was a class act as well as one of the best , humbly went over to congratulate the new champ in a points loss , that's class. That Lamotta win was one sided , this is Jake Lamotta another legend , yet against Robinson you would think he hadn't had many fights Robinson was that good. Some of the KOs from the old 20's and 30s footage is quality , doesn't matter the era , a quality KO punch will shine in black and white or 4k

The difference is, in my time you had to knock a man out to win the championship.' and he delivered it matter of fact-ly. As if to say, 'This was a different sport in my time, kid. You wouldn't understand anything about that world.' PS. Just based on the voice, it's a damn shame nobody made a movie about him with Joe Pesci in it.
