My ferret enjoys sticking his head under the water as I’m pouring it into his water bowl. He always acts so surprised that the water is cold😂.

I really wish they would come out with a water bowl for ferrets who dont stop splashing until all the water is gone. Ive tried all the nonspillable bowls, from $100 to $13 and nothing stops my one ferret from risking them all, even putting several. She will just throw all the water out until theres none left to drink. Giving this furr-ent a hard time 😅
I have noticed that once the ferrets get used to having a bowl they stop digging it so much. Luffy hardly ever does it now... maybe worth persevering?

And make sure to do your searching when thinking about buying one. Look to an adoptive sanctuary rather than a breeder who most likely has them in horrid conditions
yes, that's 100% great advice. Rescue centres in the UK are overflowing with ferrets - which is why I'll be bringing in up to 6 more rescues to live with us this spring/summer 🥰

Maybe you can try to change in the straw instead of it being metal
a soft straw would just get chewed and eaten and might cause a blockage. Ferrets are a LOT of fun in a water tray too tbh 🙂

how about not having them live i your apartment but in free nature???
Interestingly, ferrets don't live free in nature.. they are a domesticated creature derived from the European polecat 2500 years ago, for use as working animals on farms (for pest control & trapping)... and personally I keep them in my shed, not my apartment :)
