  • A crazy detail is that when our “Hero” is teleported and pukes blood, it IMMEDIATELY starts to clot. This is super lore accurate and is also the reason why when a Space Marine loses a limb he kind of just takes it like someone would a punch and keeps on killing. So much attention was paid to the lore in this it’s mindblowing. Long Live the Emperor of Man, Beloved by All!

In the scene where the Astartes are in the warp being held by the Warp Entities tentacles a similar smoky force doesn't so much shoot the Sapphire blue Warp Entity as it does engulf and consume. Stands to reason that if the Inquisitor had lost his body and was now stuck in Warp space that he could as some final act of glorious service save the Marines. Possibly they all only ended up in that vast place because of the Inquisitor. Otherwise they may have been trapped in the Warp. And if you are wondering what I mean by 'they all' I urge you to watch the last few seconds very closely. Particularly the other pillars in the 'throne room.'

  • Personal addition for anyone wondering: The background story is that humanity spread out through the Galaxy over the course of several thousands of years, then by the 25th millenia, developed psychic powers (leading to possesions that killed entire solar systems) and the AIs we used to make things run went full Skynet. In the 30th millenia, the most powerful human psychic proclaimed himself Emperor of Mankind and made the Astartes as his shock troops to reclaim the galaxy. To run the show, he made 20 super Astartes called Primarchs, which the 4 Satans stole and spread out through the Galaxy. As the Emperor reclaimed the Galaxy he found 18 of them. When he was close to reconquering the Galaxy, his best Primarch got possesed and, with the help of 8 other Primarchs (many of whom ended up possesed too), started a Civil War that left the Empire in shambles. Eversince then, the Astartes have fought to preserve what remains and most of the stories of the setting happen in the 41st millenia.

  • You probably should have mentioned that these rebels (or whatever they are) are actually doing a great job at trying to stop the astartes. Yes, they are just getting slaughtered but they do employ the best tactics possible for a regular human to try and actually kill an astartes if you don't have acces to tanks. Try to get him into a kill zone and focus fire him, preferably with heavy weapons or just a shitload of soldiers. And yes, it's totally worth sacrificing the guys that led him into the kill zone because if they didn't fire immedietly the astartes would likely notice the ambush (even through thermal smoke) and either evade or just crush the ambush. The other viable tactic is to distract the astartes somehow and then get a soldier to do a suicide run to try and attach a very large preferably shaped explosive device to the astartes armor and detonate it immedietly. These tactics are viable to kill an astartes. And while those seem easy, they absolutly are not. The problem is that astartes don't just have superhuman strength, speed, endurance, reflexes etc and the absolut best equipment that is possible to have, each one of them is also a tactical and strategic genius. And as if that still wasn't enough, all of them underwent a training regime whose warm up exercises would just straightup kill any normal human. Not to mention astartes are pretty much immortal if not killed in battle and as such many have centuries of experience in nothing but combat and war against enemies and creatures that few have ever even just heard of. If you are a military commander and you are expected to go up against Astartes you should treat them as tanks but with the manoveurability of infantry and the modus operandi of special ops.

    • You can use intelligent tactics, you can have overwhelming numbers, you can have a home-field advantage, you can have a superior position...the Space Marines will still accomplish their objective, because that is all they live for. Beyond all the genetic enhancement and top-tier equipment, an Astartes, at his core, has been systematically brainwashed and mentally conditioned to regard achieving his goal as the only thing that's important. He doesn't have doubts, he doesn't have a 'girl back home' that he's thinking about, he can't be shocked or traumatized, he isn't afraid to die, he _certainly_ won't blink at killing the enemy...and he's been trained for years to instinctually know the best tactics to use in any given situation. The true strength of a Space Marine is his resolve and willpower. There are things that can defeat Space Marines, and regular humans with no artillery or air support? They are not those things.

    • That makes a lot of sense. With what happens to them after the speech. These orbs are psychics so they have a deep connection to the warp. My bet is they have a deal with one of the demons, a sort of pact to rise against the astartes. In the intro the rebels are described as being defeated. So they are being rounded up one by one. This isn't the first incursion, look at how methodically they proceed in the capture. You look at the spikes they repel the blue psychic aura, my guess is it's a way to restrain them. The captured one has metal bulges like shackles moving around it, disposed in a similar way. The captured orb senses the other's presence and asks who's there. The strike orb then tells him the bad news. Captured ponders about the refusal of the astartes to yield. Then orders his brother to return (to the warp for me). The strike orb then indicates the impossibility since it's too much of a risk for them (probably because they'll have to face the demon and say they failed, that or the huge dangers lying in the warp. I would go for the latter) But the captured indicates how desperate they are and that they have no choice. They must take the offer. (This might be linked to some ultimatum imposed by the demon) What happens next is the process of going to the warp and the marines are taken along. Once in the warp the orb creature gets attacked because nobody is your friend in the warp... The enemy of my enemy is... Well who cares in the warp...

  • The most devastating thing about the Emperor's Angels of death is not the fact they are 9 feet tall weigh 600-900 pds if pure muscle, not that they have 9 or 12 new organs planted inside of them including two hearts, not that they can fight for months without true sleep (half their brain will sleep while the other half is awake and fully combat effective, not the strength of speed that makes Captain America seem like a child in comparison, he'll it's not even that they can eat inorganic matter to sustain themselves or eat parts of the recently dead to gain their memories, NOT EVEN BEING ABLE TO SPIT ACID. What makes them such a force of nature is in the way these sons of Demigods move as one. That's what this creator got spot on. It is not about the individual, it is all about the unit or team. Also, travel through the Warp leads to issues with time as we know it. Seconds could be centuries in realspace and vice versa. Hell, you could go full time-paradox and go back in time before you left upon exiting. An ork warboss did just that and searched for his past self to kill so he could have two of his favorite gun. He did just that with no issues because he was too stupid to realize the signifigance of it.

Who is it between themselves that decide what’s wrong and what’s right , what to do and not to do , if all of them are equally powerful as the rest of the Inquisitor . • The white space marine helmets denote Veteran Status and are usually associated with Company Veterans, which would form the Company HQ element in an IRL military. There is also the 1st Company of a Chapter, which is comprised entirely of Veterans. The Space Marine with the white coat and laurels on his helmet is a Captain. The Iron Cross looking thing is the Crux Terminatus, a sign of Veterancy that allows a Space Marine to wear one of the few coveted Terminator Armours of the chapter, if the mission requires it. I cant determine if the Marines are part of the 1st or 3rd Company. I guess they are part of the 3rd Company, as the knee pad is one of the places some chapters denote the Company they are part of. The I inside the Crux Terminatus should thus signify the affiliation of those Space Marines with the Holy Inquisition. What throws me for a loop are the white shoulder pauldrons, usually they denote the 1st Company, but they could just denote Elite/HQ status. So summarize: The Captain is likely the Captain of the 3rd Company and his bodyguard is a Company Veteran with likely hundreds of years of service and countless battles. The Space Marines have 5 "roles", usually denoted via a symbol on the shoulderpad: HQ, Elite, Troop, Assault and Support

    @JainZar1@JainZar1 Жыл бұрын
    • I was going to say something similar, but that depends on this chapter being fully codex-compliant. The tactical symbols on the squad's shoulder-pads says they're not as way out there as the Wolves, but they might be similar to DA or BA, *mostly* compliant, but with differences, such as different veteran markings, or different company markings.

      @matthiasoc7141@matthiasoc71419 ай бұрын
    • Not exactly in real life. From the platoon onwards military units are led by comissioned officers in most armies, which mostly means you need to attend officer school. Veterancy will generally only allow promotion to non-comissioned officer status, the highest ranked and experienced of which will assist officers in command tasks. So you can have the platoon or company commander have no combat experience, the positioned attained purely by their education as an officer. This is a bit of a running trope in pop culture - Band of Brothers illustrates this during the Bastogne part, where new West-point grauate commanders are shown struggling to command their troops, and Generation Kill also shows some of this "veterans led by newcomers" friction.

  • Heres my take on that place the space marine found himself in at the end. I think it’s the realm of the emperor. Each chaos god has their own realm of chaos and the emperor stole power from the chaos gods and has likely become a chaos god himself, so it would be fitting that he has his own realm, where the space marine found himself inside. Also, the emperor’s psyche became shattered into a lot of different pieces of himself, so seeing all those skeletons on thrones makes me think that it’s the scattered bits of himself within his realm. He’s known to occasionally reach out and save people like the sisters of battle or influence battles to turn them into victories, it’s not far fetched that he would save one of his Astartes from the warp by bringing him into his own realm.

  • 13:25 my interpretation of this is that the spikes are a neutralizing agent, meant to weaken the orb so that a bigger team can enter the ship and capture it like the other orb. I believe that the orb panics and reaches out, finding the other orb (thats tied to the psychic) close by and communicates, which is how the psychic intercepted the messages. Following this the other orb says it failed and is captured, so the orb we just found prepares to do the sucking in attack thing, the psychic hears this and tells the captain (or whatever rank) to "RECALL THEM IMMEDIATELY", and in this moment of broken focus the captured orb attacks the psychic, trying to break the connection and maybe give the other orb a chance. We see the psychic lose the mental battle, essentially lose his mind from possession (its not pretty in 40k), and the 2 higher ranking officials swiftly put him down. I also believe that the tentacles were the orb's power, and the black magic shadow thing that hit it was a final attack from the psychic (it's the same as the power we see from his hands when he looks down), which cuts off the orb and casts the captured Astartes randomly about the cosmos.

    @zewps9502@zewps950210 ай бұрын
    • also it's my understanding that the humans on board are being controlled by the orb, which is why a) the Astartes have little remorse killing them (possession has non-reversible damage), and b) why they are trying to capture the orb in the first place. To prevent it from capturing further ships or perhaps even fleets.

Unfortunately think the inquisitor psyker was devoured when his face lit up (comparably to how the Emperor feeds) and the black wispy smoke I believe denotes humanoid psyker energy. So, my hope is it was the Emperor that blasted the entity and saved as well as transported his blessed Astartes to his realm in the immaterium with his fractured self(how he became the corpse on the throne wuth that many iterations), because as they say, "and they shall know no fear" and you know most importantly "the Emperor protects".

Demons can use their full potential. If an inquisitor suspects that there may be a possessed person on a planet, they may decide to destroy the entire city och even end all life on the planet just to neutralize the threat. The pistol exploded and destroyed his hand, but may have still fired its plasma into the warpspace, right at the entity in its vulnerable state. Regarding the end: it's definitely not a different galaxy, at least, as 40K lore is clear that the Milky Way's Immaterium is disconnected from any other warpspace which may or may not exist in other galaxies.

Some ofcourse go full off the wall warrior priest been little more then human supremacist zealots looking at you Black Templars! The two chapters you brought up are the extreme edge cases the Salamanders actively support their members retaining blood relations or even families as they believe it makes them better at protecting the Emperors great works. While the Space Wolves have a much different belief system around psycho conditioning and especially Librarians that doesn't align with moving away from your roots or tribalism. They instead where possible harness it and just that competition as an edge. That said they also try to get drunk sooooopp yeah....... 😅

      @DanielVisOneCade@DanielVisOneCade Жыл бұрын
    • @DanielVisOneCade well Salamanders even have Astaetes living within their family members communities. - totally unheard of in other chapters. It's like being taken as 10 year old to be space marine and then one day come back to your town "Hey Mom and Dad! I am home on leave, except I became 8 ft tall giant with pure muscle mass and extra organs, looking like mix of human and medieval draft horse".

  • Just wanted to add, he says when explaining the warp, lesser satans. That is not true about all of them. In other lore there are things about other powerful warp entities that could challenge or defeat them. That’s why chaos does not control the whole warp and the parts it does is due to the chaos in the galaxy. If chaos and what supports them lessens or fades so will their power. Hope this clarifies a bit

  • I have a totally different take on this and here it goes. I believe the Astartes who ended up where he did was marked out by chaos. Notice how an automaton loses his right eye in battle, the astartes his right arm. Notice the psyker with a functional left eye damages the eye portion mirroring that on the Astartes. After the conflict all the Marines strides are fluid yet one drags his foot generating sparks unlike the others. And one had the will to get his weapon into the orb. I believe even though the chaos demons communicating "failed" one found an interesting opportunity with a potential champion. Also I believe when he approached the orb, the demon seemed to appear to him.
