This is actually what I'm most interested in - having it avoid collisions while you're in manual driving mode. Hopefully as FSD gets more and more complete they keep porting all the collision avoidance capabilities into manual driving mode.
I feel like they must, it would seem almost satanic to hide safety features behind a paywall
you don't even need FSD for this feature. This is Autopilot taking over. [had similar experience at about 20mph and I only have Autopilot]
I had this feature work twice on my non-FSD M3P, Tesla as stated multiple times that all safety features are and will always be free.
It’s on while in manual driving. A car merged into my lane without looking and before i could do something, tesla car merged to another lane and sped up.
Cool stuff! Thanks for capturing and sharing
That first one was a nice driver assist. You had your turn signal on but that happens where someone passes you on the right.
Thanks a lot for the information this is exactly what I wanted to know and I love how you use random cars and people to test it I'm crying 😂
thanks for this
This is good to know considering the lack of sufficient blindspot alerts.
instructional, tnx for sharing
2:00. The other driver honked at you😂
Do you feel like it accelerate/brakes at the same time besides maneuvering to left or right?
Yooo he is back
Where'd you go? I miss your demos.
Will it brake if the car in front stops abruptly if you’re not paying attention?
would love to see this video again or similar without the active cruise control to see if there is a difference. Tesla should of had these videos made already to show the features in real time at a safety coarse, or just putting a few tesla's on the real highway and showing these features with safety drivers. Thanks for making this video. I have not seen anything like this anywhere also. IF you ever decide to risk making the video without active cruise on it would be much appreciated.
Did you do this on purpose or by accident
lol you used a live person to test out the pedestrian avoidance system?
I'm most concerned that the car only has 13% of charge.
Why?
@@runewinsevik8471 Because in 13% the car shuts down...
@@Memetologist Yeah, and if the charge had been 25%, it would have shut down in 25%. What is the problem? Maybe the driver was 5 minutes from home for all we know.
and it started with 14%
Hahah, I have gone down to zero, and did not get stranded. But I wouldn’t recommend pushing the limits in cold weather.
Great video. I agree that no one else talks about how much safety is included if you don't use AP. I guess this means that the worse you drive, the more people will subscribe! By the way, is there any warning, if you dont see a stop sign when not using FSD/EAP?
no there is not
👌
Does your car have the radar sensor? Does the newer models without radar also have this feature?
Yeah, the newer ones run smoother without the radar. I have one and have had this feature kick in
You have the old version of the firmware? Like... Really old?
Actually one of the clips is from a while ago, that I didn’t think the camera was recording. But I recently found the footage.
@@scottkubo5593 I'm actually still on that pre-December 2020 version myself hahahah. Been waiting 10+ months for an update that actually introduces a feature I want - if I am going to be subjected to a worse UI I better be getting a new useful feature in return. The releases this year have been lacking to say the least... Sad considering how many great OTA updates there were during 2019 & 2020 :-/
Does this work for teslas without USS
yes
At least a sorry, no?
Confused about this video, I assume you are showing the Basic Auto Pilot warnings. So does the basic auto pilot stop for that pedestrian???? And was that is basic Auto Pilot???? I know FSD stops for pedestrians.
It'll stop/avoid in manual mode too.. not just in AP mode. Safety features are always active
Did you pay extra 6000$ for auto pilot software?
Why are you overtaking on the right? Do you want Tesla Autopilot to save you?
it's what ppl do. no law saying you can't overtake on the right, it just has to be safe to do so. this isn't an unsafe maneuver and he's not driving recklessly
This is all a middling solution. Once FSD is done you won’t need this feature.
its never going to be done , and you know FSD a life long Tesla project for all owners lol
@@thpq I would be upset if they stopped iterating on it using data from the fleet. Lifelong project is a feature not a bug 😉
@@tfat00 ill admit the car drives great everytime, im just realistic as a owner, its going to be a life long project, so im not pressed about when things happen anymore. I added secondary market blind spot assist that u plug into the 12 volt charger and the car drives even better because it flashes a light on each pillar once cars are in the blind spot making it like the other cars are the road, add that to your car while fsd is being worked on and im sure u will enjoy. You dont even have to drill holes pick a secondary market one is my thought you completely forget about fsd and it makes it easier to wait.
1:36 what blind spot ? ? you can literally see the car there you're just too lazy too look for cars before changing lane. With all that tech, cameras and shit... you're still too lazy too look
For real
lol.. so you're 100% perfect in your driving, huh? stop it.. get off your pedestal. no one is perfect which is why auto-makers developed these systems... which did the job.
@@dcheard2 people who rely on tech to save them from making mistakes like this should not be allowed to drive...even a horse cart
Your so mad you don’t have a Tesla 😂
@@SickPrid3 no one "relies" on them... They are there because ppl make mistakes. Not hard to understand.
1:50 Autopilot is an absolute joke. It clearly saw the car increasing speed and that is wasn't going to stop, but continued to merge into their lane. If they can't perfect Highway navigation how the hell are they going to put this thing on city streets???
He is manually changing lanes himself in this clip. He did not have autopilot on. This was human error not autopilot error. However despite his own mistake of pulling into a lane when another car was there the Tesla stopped him from crashing. It is precisely the safety features of this car that saved him from a human error that would have caused an accident. 🙂
@@NerdRapper Autopilot was active when he was being merged into the occupied lane as you can CLEARLY see from the autopilot blue steering wheel.
@@Waldo1122 No, he was driving manually, there is CLEARLY no blue steering wheel icon.
@@MacGuyver85 Blue circle around the speed limit indicates the car is in autopilot, the car then proceeds to merge when a car is advancing in the lane it is trying to merge into.
@@Waldo1122 That’s incorrect. Autopilot enabled is a separate steering wheel icon. This is manual driving.
