    • Matthew (the director) said in a podcast interview that the actual big cake was made of foam and rubber, so yeah they only used a small amount for the shot of it hitting them in the face. Got it on the first take too, so minimal waste haha.

    • Not CGI, which is artificially produced imagery after the take with computer wizardry. Old fashioned filming with a cake of just plastic and plaster. The cake really did fall, but it was very lightweight, and the first take was the perfect take, despite spare clothes and showers, hair and makeup on standby.
