  • Penaud is a brilliant finisher, but Kolbe creates a try from nothing - not just for himself, but for others…and if need be he can kick. All in they are very closely matched but Kobe for the win.

    • You sound like someone who just hasn't been watching Penaud. This guys has the highest broken tackles percentage in the world, not to mention that he has been way more consistant for club and country in the last 2-3 years

  • For me Penaud is a lot like Will Jordan. Great reader of the game and knows how to put himself in position to finish with good pace. Kolbe is an absolute freak.

    • I am English, and the French are the old enemy, and I can say Penaud is better. If I want to get a cricket score against a 2nd tier team Kolbe is your man, if I am going in to play against one of the top team Penaud, he offers more and is harder to defend against.

  • Better? I don’t know. Both are brilliant! I love watching both of them play. Kolbe can cover more positions and is perhaps more versatile, Penaud has the size to dominate smaller opponents. Both step like demons! What a time to be a rugby supporter! Such a wealth of prodigious talents.

    • Penaud: 35 tries in 47 games. Kolbe 13 tries in 28 games. Penaud has a much better record.

  • Kolbe during Toulouse era was the best winger in the world by far. Since two years, he's not the best south-africans winger. Penaud is offensively better but he's really poor in defense. Kolbe is more reliable. In current form, it's a pretty close call.
