  • This was such an inspirational match. I got so much after watching just the first half: The boys passionately sought out each other's feet. As they tossed and flipped in each other's arms, evermore excited by each grunt and heavy exhaust of humid air that escaped the other's mouth, nothing in the world mattered to either of them any more. All the boys they have been with and been through have been completely forgotten-all the pains and pleasures they taught, likewise meaningless. This was indeed a match made in feetopia.

    • In BJJ tho, most experienced leg lock practitioners know how to crank and pause right before the point of injury giving the opponent the chance to tap. Conversely, at the higher levels the guy caught in the lock will recognize when he's got to tap or tear some ligaments/tendons. There's a mutual understanding. Of course accidents happen, but they are much rarer even in competition than you would think. Typically the truly horrible accidents happen when the person caught in the lock refuses to tap due to ignorance of the mechanics of what is happening to their knee/ankle.

  • From spectator point of view : starting from the butt shouldn't be allowed, guard pulling shouldn't be allowed and be penalised.

    • I thought the same thing too! I had to rewatch it, and on closer inspection it looks like the ankles just getting stretched, but dang they pushed the limits. With the click of the cameras and the ref calling out for points I thought it was a break lol. I was cringing when Imanari started trying to get the heel around 1:30. It didn't look like a good position for a heel hook, but if someone could get it to work it would be one of these two.
