  • I'm 60 yrs of age, and I'm a carpenter by trade.... I remodel houses now and still do a fair share of framing...... yesterday while working on a garage, trying to replace some drip edge and facia, I fell off my 6ft ladder.....this morning I'm watching your video and the peace and serenity of your video has calmed me and my headache of the prior day has diminished.....I love watching others framing houses/buildings, I gives my a satisfaction that soothes my soul....thanks for ALL your great videos, they're appreciated more than you know...

Beautiful place and love how it’s all treed in and sheltered around the entire property. It’s nice to see everyone involved and helping out! I’m thinking that little girl might be the only one left on the planet who has some valuable life skills in the next 30 years. (Lol). Taking on a massive project like you have is something to be proud of and there’s nothing that gives a person more satisfaction than achieving it yourselves. Take care everyone, I’m excited to watch the rest and see the end result.

  • We bought a cheap tarp and stretched it over the entire floor. It helps keep the snow and rain off the floor, so there is less warpage and damage. We set the walls right on top of it. By the time you sheetrock, it is pretty worn, but when the mudding is done, you cut around the walls, roll it up carefully, and you have a nearly perfect subfloor to do whatever you want. Just in case you ever do another one.

    @bomaite1@bomaite1 Жыл бұрын
    • Thanks, happy to hear it works for you; we know that some folks do that and works for them. We tried it years ago once and in our opinion was nothing more than a safety hazard, and annoyance chalking lines, etc. Not sure if you noticed but our floor was not regular osb but was 'stabledge' flooring; basically a weatherproof osb. We would have never left normal osb out in the elements like we did this one. We will continue to use the weatherproof osb moving forward, at least if we will be building with it under weather for any length of time. Look it up in case you ever build again, its awesome and you don't have to slide around on a tarp all day ;) . Thanks for stopping by and all the best to you and yours :)
