Hopefully you had a beautiful weekend
To bad your not close to me I live off grid in Saint Johns Arizona I would have you come and help me with my cabin when I get ready to build it
@@SpiritBearRanch Best of luck with your build!
@@MBFModernHomesteading thanks
I'm 60 yrs of age, and I'm a carpenter by trade.... I remodel houses now and still do a fair share of framing...... yesterday while working on a garage, trying to replace some drip edge and facia, I fell off my 6ft ladder.....this morning I'm watching your video and the peace and serenity of your video has calmed me and my headache of the prior day has diminished.....I love watching others framing houses/buildings, I gives my a satisfaction that soothes my soul....thanks for ALL your great videos, they're appreciated more than you know...
Thanks for the kind words, it really means a lot to us. More importantly , we hope you aren't in too bad of shape and have a good recovery! Thanks for stopping by.
just watching the video thinking should had wrap the lumber with plastic tarps.. maybe the floor cause I don't think it's very good with snow on osb plywood cause it swells .. but whom am I to judge
@@kevinthomas1513 If you look closely during the video you will see that it mentioned that the flooring was Stabledge flooring and not typical OSB. If you were to see the videos following, it held up great and we were very impressed, all the best.
@@MBFModernHomesteading sry bout that I just got on utube and seen the first video and just made a comment just off the one I say first.. my apologies.. but the snow sure coming down but y'all still work on it.. il watch the video from the start tyvm
@@kevinthomas1513 No problem Kevin, hope you are having a good weekend :)
Thanks for the time-lapse! My wife an I have been looking at building our on tiny home. With the cost of housing these days its the way to go. Keep up the great work looking forward to seeing the progress. Have a fab weekend and enjoy the little warmth we have today and tomorrow. 🏡
What a great way to document your journey. This will be a cherished archive for Sam, her siblings and your future grandchildren. ❣
When you do a time lapse like this, is really shows how much time, effort and determination it takes to get this far. Well done.
Always enjoy seeing a house raised up, even in timelapse. A lot of hard work, and you two are hard workers. Even with all the harshness that winter weather deals out. Good job Jeremy and Ashley, and Sam.
Thanks 👍
Most fun is the rough framing, nice to see a real family doing this. The kid will hopefully remember how her parents worked together.
Cool watching you twos putting things together. Thanks
Fantastic team work, love you two, great to watch, thanks for the video, John 75 retired plumber from England.
Your guys should be proud of yourself for all you have accomplished .
Good job guys! Look forward to the future to see what you do!
It is beautiful and satisfying to build, as they say, a house from scratch with your own hands. Congratulations.💕💕
Awesome to see. Just bought a property in Northern Ontario and will be doing the same thing this coming spring. It was very helpful to see the big picture from foundation to roof.
Great Time-lapse guys. Excellent progress.🙂

Good to find a new build, my wife~kid and I, we built our own 2 floor and basement house, and I like your build.
I've watched a few of your videos, but started late. Great to see this time lapse to see the beginning. Keep it up. Love it.
Thank you for being here :)
Really enjoyed your production ,& educational ,thanks again & stay well .
Good Morning to you all. Nice job on the foundation and walls, that’s about all I’ve gotten to see for now. Beautiful place and love how it’s all treed in and sheltered around the entire property. It’s nice to see everyone involved and helping out! I’m thinking that little girl might be the only one left on the planet who has some valuable life skills in the next 30 years. (Lol). Taking on a massive project like you have is something to be proud of and there’s nothing that gives a person more satisfaction than achieving it yourselves. Take care everyone, I’m excited to watch the rest and see the end result.
Thanks so much Blair and all the best to you!
Thanks for sharing...and especially for putting this to music rather than the creepy techno noise that some do. This is how it should be- a family doing what they need to do to enjoy life together. Seems these ways are lost sometimes. God bless all of you ! Wulfy
es impresionante ver lo que se puede hacer con mucha dedicacion y pasiencia. saludos desde méxico.
Watching you rock side to side trying to stay warm in the time lapse kind of looked like dancing. Great video guys. Keep it up.
haha, Thanks so much :)
I think every couple should build their first home, it is a great Esperance. Kiwi
I admire people like you who know how to live a fulfilling life with very little and you're teaching the meaning off what's important in life to your children as well as have them participate.
don't get exited , just video on KZhead
Watercress in a spring or fish in it are usually good identifiers of good drinking water. Having it tested is always a good step.
♡ Great progress guys! excellent teachings
We bought a cheap tarp and stretched it over the entire floor. It helps keep the snow and rain off the floor, so there is less warpage and damage. We set the walls right on top of it. By the time you sheetrock, it is pretty worn, but when the mudding is done, you cut around the walls, roll it up carefully, and you have a nearly perfect subfloor to do whatever you want. Just in case you ever do another one.
Thanks, happy to hear it works for you; we know that some folks do that and works for them. We tried it years ago once and in our opinion was nothing more than a safety hazard, and annoyance chalking lines, etc. Not sure if you noticed but our floor was not regular osb but was 'stabledge' flooring; basically a weatherproof osb. We would have never left normal osb out in the elements like we did this one. We will continue to use the weatherproof osb moving forward, at least if we will be building with it under weather for any length of time. Look it up in case you ever build again, its awesome and you don't have to slide around on a tarp all day ;) . Thanks for stopping by and all the best to you and yours :)
May the family have happiness, prosperity, experience, everything.👨👩👦🎂🎂
I like what you two have built. Thanks for sharing.

@@MBFModernHomesteading where did you get the screw down anchor pillars from
@@SpiritBearRanch They were installed by a company called Post Tech, there are other companies that install them also called 'steel screw piles'. If you do an internet search, lots should come up on them. Have a great weekend!

I enjoyed this but I will ad that I also enjoy commentary about the build from you both. You both appear to really enjoy yourself and I applaud that- I would like to hear your thoughts during the build instead of relaxing music. Wish you well!

Nice video, thank you! We inherited Heat and Cold from Adam and Eve and our pre flood brethren as a discipline but discipline also comes with Can Do that overcomes! Nice as always to see your adorable Pet Dear getting involved! She is our Future! The World has many but's and Butts, but Discipline can be avoided by the wise who keep their Butts to themselves and keep track of the but's! You guys are good builders! Yea Canadian Truckers! The creator helps those who pay attention! We all get the disciplines of the World! Feel free to be offended! Grandpa Ron PTL, USA!

Awesome job Congratulations
I suppose I should be commenting on your cabin, your dedication to the project or your ability to work together, but to tell the truth it was the artistic imagery and music that really held my attention. You have done a great job of editing in putting this video together. And, Oh Yeah, nice cabin.
Thanks for saying that, very much appreciated. Have a great day!
