The US and the West in general have been trying to remove China from their EV manufacturing process, and while China has not openly said anything about this, the country has been making moves after moves that will make it difficult for the West to ignore them. Now, CATL has just announced something that will surely change the EV industry: A battery that will give you a million miles. Yes, one million miles.
So , is this even possible? And how were they able to achieve this?

  • The narrator used one million miles and one million kilometres interchangeably. This is not correct. At 5.13 of video, the Yutong presentation shows 1,500,000 kilometres.

    • I also noticed this error. Maybe it was intentional in order to write a more sensational heading. But the presentation is excellent.

  • This sounds like a good idea!! So how does it work? How does it cover a MILLION miles? Would it be possible to replace my Renault Zoe’s battery with a set of these?

    @Madonsteamrailways@MadonsteamrailwaysАй бұрын
  • This isn’t groundbreaking as 1 million mile batteries have been on the road for years. Any LFP is a million mile battery as even poor LFP has 4000 plus cycles and good ones, double or triple that. This battery will likely be a 2 to 3 million mile battery at minimum but the news here is that they are willing to warranty them that long. Also the 1000 cycles before degradation is a breakthrough as it means they are doping with extra lithium to make up for the lithium lost during the first cycles due to interaction with the electrolyte.

  • It would be very helpful if you breakdown your kilometers to miles I mean in the video you talk to million miles and then quickly went to kilometers. Now I have to take 400 km and 700 km and translated to miles . Bottom line is, if you’re gonna speak English speak plain English and simple math for the masses to understand . I know I can look it up, but why should I when it should be a simple thing for you to go ahead and tell us . Personally, I believe it’s because the kilometers numbers sound bigger than the regular miles therefore, you making it a sales point , rather than just telling us straight.

  • Any one can claim they have a 1 million mile battery, esd[ecially if they will never have to prove it. The EV industry will collapse long before any of them reach that mileage and they will have run off with the money.
