Heartwarming Moments with Baby Elephants, Phabeni & Khanyisa in the Wild
Adine heads out into the bush to meet up with the elephants at the waterhole, and she finds Lundi and Tokwe enjoying tree-scratches after their mud shower. Jabulani and Khanyisa quickly join in and it seems everyone is intrigued by the smell of Adine's new pants. Khanyisa looks extra colourful after a wash and a sand shower that adds a layer of bright red to her pink skin. Khanyisa is very attentive to Phabeni, while the calf moves about between Setombe, Klaserie, Kumbura and Bubi. Zindoga can't stay away from Adine's pants either and extends a trunk-greeting to little Phabeni. Fishan and Jabulani exchange words as they slip their trunks into one another's mouths - while Jabulani tries to start a scuffle with the older bull.
Enjoy these precious moments with the herd out in their wilderness!
Good morning Herd! What a wonderful way to start the day with the bonding of the two youngest and the rescued family!❤️
I love how they all protect Phabeni.
I love their deep rumbles saying hello.
An essential piece of equipment that should be carried by everyone is a huge extending back scratcher, for those hard to reach spots 😉.
😊👍
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE !! what a happiness the morning when we receive those precious videos!! Phabeni looks so happy to be in the bush with its 2 families !!! Khanyisa is so high now she can embrace the whole Phabeni body !!! Phabeni gives a great occupation to the herd !! girls are always around him without any jealousy now !! Khanyisa wll be a great mum !! she has been used to receive and to gives so much love ! cuddles ! big hugs ! she knows !!! and she likes that !! she slways rumbles coming to see you Adine !! Klaserie great sister too always with mum and Phabeni !! Thank you Dear Adine !! have a good Thursday !! all of you too !! ❤🐘
I've actually started calling one of my female cats Meisiekind because it's such a sweet form of endearment. I might not be pronouncing it as well as Adine does, but it makes me think of Khanyisa and little Phabeni when I say it, and that makes me smile! I just adore the elephants' rumbles because they sound so content! Thank you, HERD, for sharing these special creatures with us and thank you for loving them as you all do!
I am doing the same with my pup!
I do this with my little sister as well as my 2 female pups🤭Emi(sister)is so used to it by now that she responds just when i call out “Miesie” but I’ll use the full term as well and she’ll come find me or look up when i say it bc she knows I’m referring to her 🥹🌸🩷🐘
Adine we see what type of person she is the respect for animals she has the LOVE when Lundi came out she said "hi Limpopo, oh no sorry, Hi Lundi" and thats why I love you so much miss Adine, i do the same thing without even thinking with my furry friends. thank you for everything you doand Miss khanyisa i couldnt be more proud shes beyond anything i expected she waits now to get attention but learned it SO fast, she learned from the best her carers and her allomothers all these angels
So true on that🎉😂❤
Thank you so much Adine for sharing. These moments are so precious. It’s a privilege . ❤
The elephants have such a nice life, with good care. 💜
Yes maybe if we humans were elephants instead the world would be a kinder place. 😎
I’m so happy to live in the time of KZhead where I get to spend hours with an elephant herd in Africa! What a wonderful life!❤❤❤
Just when you thought Khanyisa couldn't get any more adorable - she turns out to be a gentle sister to baby Phabeni with no signs of jealousy! Delighted to watch this happy herd family!
Love ❤️ love you all sweeties!!!🥰😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘💖💖💖💖
Thanks!
Good morning Jabulani HERD family 🐘. Lundi 🐘 was enjoying a good scratch on a tree. Then it becomes a family affair 😂. Khaynisa 🐘 was so gentle and loving to Phabeni 🐘 as she was giving him trunk hugs ❤️. Kumbura 🐘 stays by Phabeni's 🐘 side. I guess Setombe 🐘 has no choice but to allow Kumbura 🐘 to watch over Phabeni 🐘. Adine that was pretty interesting how each elephant 🐘 had to come over and give your pants a good sniff. Have a great day Jabulani HERD family ❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘❤️
Learning about the names of the elephant herd and there names great to know that others no there names
They make purring sounds
@@chezroma that's called rumbling. It's just one form of talking.
@@chezroma learning their names is the easy part. Identifying them is a whole new ball game 🤣
Hi baby 🍼 Phabeni ❤️.
Hello from Oregon! 🙋♀️ @candidaprout560
Baby K remembers all those wonderful nights with “mama” Adine caressing her as she fell asleep. Those beautiful bonds are never broken. ❤️🐘

No matter how many times I watch this beautiful family I am in awe of their majestic beauty and grace. Intelligent and loving to their family and human family. I have been fascinated with ellies since I was a little girl and will continue to be. Thank goodness for the technology and for HERD so that we are able to to experience their journey. It is a small gesture however with the largest of meanings when I say thank you for all you do for them and for including us. ❤
Setombe might as well get used to having Kumbura around because she’s going to shadow Phabeni. What a great video!
Thank you, this has been a wonderful video to end a very long day 🙂
I adore elephants!! It's on my bucket list to hug a baby elephant! Thank you for this channel and all the great work you all do to these beautiful God-created creatures!!
YES YESid love that to kiss them and smell them
We watched Khanyisa learn how to be an elephant and now Phabeni. Even though their personalities are different, they share one thing in common. They both are strong willed. With Setombe and Lundi as their adoptive mothers, they are learning different traits, that combined together, will be a force to be reckoned with, within the herd when they grow up. Strong leaders in their later years. So grateful to Herd for allowing us to watch it all lovingly unfold.
I would award HERD the Nobel Peace Prize for your work with the beautiful elephants and for all the joy your bring so many people with your videos. Then you could buy your solar equipment!
Thank you for these beautiful pictures. It is so relaxing for me to watch them. They are all wonderful.
Good morning from Michigan USA and I love watching your videos of the Herd, the gentle rumblings, watching the mud baths. Every one of them has their own personalities. The babies are getting bigger and looking so healthy. ❤❤❤
What a wonderful life to live. To be able to spend time with these beautiful gentle giants. 🐘🐘🐘💜💜
just love the way Khanyisa always comes to Adine for love
That is her human mama for life :) I love how lundi always is so sweet to Adine too. In elephant nature park they say when a baby chooses a nanny the mother has to accept the baby’s choice I believe very much this is the case here khanyisa chose Adine and they all have to respect her choice human or not :)
Yeah I'd say Khanyisa has claimed ownership of Adine lol
@@rancidcrawfish omg did you see the clip where she chases timisa away Bec she got SO possessive over adine? Our little sunshine doesn’t play about her mama!!!!!!! Timisa is SO good natured and isn’t possessive adine narrated in the video :) I truly love the herd I wake up every morning to see if there’s a new video helps so much with my depression!!!
Adnine spent 3 months trying to get Khanyisa's wounds to heal and giving her love and attention every day. So their bond is strong.
Yes so true she moved the other elephants out of the way 🎉🎉😂😂😂❤❤
It just occurred to me how glad I am that putting one's nose in someone else's mouth as a greeting is just an elephant thing 😂😂
😂😂😂😂 there are a few things the Ellies do that we are very glad are not replicated in human society
@@herdelephantorphanage Yes! I am learning so much from watching your videos 🥰
Yes, I'm a visual type.🤣🥺🙏
Amazing
Fishan and Jabulani talking is my favorite part. I love to see and hear elephants communicating.
Ditto and Adine's comments re: their places shifting in the Hierarchy were interesting + liked that she "got onto" Jabu when he started "asserting his position" over Jabu. U ROCK, Adine! 👍
What a joy and privilege it is to watch interactions in the herd close up: How a friendly greeting between bulls can escalate into a wrestling match, how Khanyisa is growing into a doting older sister, and how the elephants - from many yards away - can detect a new article of clothing on Adine and move in to investigate! Phabeni acts as though he’s always been a member of the family; his confidence and even the playful pushes at Adine signal his potential as a future leader. But my heart goes out to Lundi! Thanks and best wishes to you all!
What a lovely relaxing day it is out with the Herd. Thank you for taking us all along Adine 💜
@ShortOrderCook. Well you said, lovely and relaxing 😊💓👋.
Adine and her baby voice when she speaks to the babies in the herd...😄😍 Never fails to get me in the same mood and baby voice each time Phabeni or Miss Sunshine shows up in the video.😄❤🐘❤❤❤
Good morning from Pennsylvania USA. How wonderful to see your beautiful elephants. They make my heart smile. They bring so much joy by watching them. Adine and all the Carers - you are amazing people! Sending love to you all & to the HERD.❤❤❤
Hi khanisa ❤️💕. Hi to all my friends humans ❤ and elephants 🐘❤️ and goats 🐐 in the Herd ❤❤❤
Hi dear friend x 🐘☀️
❤❤❤
Their sheep, not goats
Fishan and Jubalani are telling secrets. How nice to see the closeness.
The sight of the elephants scratching against a tree always makes me laugh. Just like humans, a good scratch is everything 🥰 Being covered in mud and sand makes the elephants look like dusted pastries 🍩🍩 Little Phabeni is right in there with the big elephants. Hoping Adine did a tick check after wading through the bush. 😄
Am I the only one who keeps forgetting that Khanyisa is an albino, she just looks like a normal healthy and happy elephant now bless her.
See? Not only loving caring highly intelligent etc, our Herd is also very interested in fashion. I hear Beni is already looking for a Gucci blankie for next Christmas! 😄🧣😲 Lovely video. Thank you ❤️🐘💙🐘👍🙏
13:30 How lovely that Phabeni comes right over to you Adine, to greet you just as his big sister still does ❤
Thank you for all the hard work that you and your team do, which gives all your elephant’s such freedom. To be together in a herd is so important to them. ❤
This old grandma in hospital for stent surgery (all is well) and woke to a video of my favorite girls and boys, and the always conforting sounds of them rustling thru the bush. A great treat, and thanks to Herd for the morning visit!
Sending healing wishes ❤️🩹 your way! 💖🐘
Get well soon.
The Ellie’s are wonderful aren’t they?❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️
Hello from Australia
Hello from Texas. ❤️🐘❤️🐘
Hello from Alberta , Canada ! ♥️
Scratching wood is popular today, no wonder 😄❤🌳. So beautiful weather 🌞. The baby hair on Phaben's head is adorable, it looks so soft ☺🐘. The smell of Adine's pants, ellies are very vigilant. Khanyisa is wonderful big sister 💞🐘🐘. Greetings and blessings from Northern Europe 🙏❤😊👋.
WOW! Khanyisa is growing up to be such a beautiful girl ❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Beautiful ❤️
Kumbura has beautiful, expressive eyes.
Khanesia is getting pinker as she matures. Beautiful.
Wish i cud just hug all of them.wonderful beings So superior to most humans
Khanyisa will always be a mommy’s girl! 🩷 I love the way Adine talks to the elephants like they’re people. What’s so lovely is that they completely understand her. 🩷
Good morning from Canada 👋🙂🇨🇦
GM from Texas. ❤️🐘❤️🐘
Hi ! Alberta here !♥️
@@kp8381 Always wanted to visit Texas ! Texas BBQ !
Ahhhhhhh kumbura and Phabeni 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 that’s all I wanted to see our guardian angel kumbura protecting her babies
J’adore la voir se gratter sur l’arbre.
I loved this from start to finish. Adines new pants were the "talk in the bush". So funny and interesting how one new smell is quickly picked up. Khanysia was tri colored today, Brown, pink and gold. Love seeing her and baby P interacting. Fishan is such a regal elephant. I wish he was still #1 or 2 but sadly his injury, allowed others to move up. Life in a hierarchy. Thank you for sharing your day. ❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘
Beautiful to see that Phabeni is as confident around the elephants as Khanyisa used to be right from the beginning when she was little. They're used to newcomers and embrace them lovingly.
My “love name” for Bubi is “Bubalinda” because she is so pretty. 💋
Życie sloni jest bardzo szczęśliwe, przy tak wspanialych ludziach
Watching the Herd and seeing my adopted daughter Klaserie was amazing. It’s so enjoyable if one has and adopted Ellie to look for and watch. Knowing that I’m helping in her care, is a wonderful feeling. She’s a beautiful, well taken care of daughter. Watching daily from Florida. 💕🇺🇸🌺🌺💗
Hi Linda, I'm very happy that Klaserie is now able to learn from big Mama Setombe, how to care for a baby and when Phabeni is grown, mama will finally let Klaserie get a date, lol.
Beni beans and Baby K bringing joy to so many. Love this entire herd. You add so much to my life!
17:09 i wondered if Phabeni was teething after the video where he pressed his head against Setombe's leg. Good to see the little man thriving and hitting his milestones
Phabini is still a fuzzy little fellar, ain't he? ❤❤❤
Thanks for the video! Tokwe looks sad to be left out of the baby’s care 😢. Lundi seems ok though? On the other hand it’s lovely to see Phabeni surrounded by loving mother Setombe, allomother Bubi and the 3K sisters: Klaserie, Kumbura and Khanyisa. ❤ Even Zindoga come to check on Phabeni too.
Setombe doesn’t want to share Phabeni 😅 but Tokwe has lots of babies even if they are growing up 😉
Hi Adine & carers: Does Khanyisa ever get sunburned? If so, is it painful like human sunburns?
Yes I often wonder because the African sun can be pretty brutal!
I work at Zoo. And our Rhinos were getting sunburned. We didn’t know at first what was happening with their skin. Once we figured it out we started applying suntan lotion to them daily before they went outside. I think in the wild, the elephants and rhinos have more resources to apply sand and mud to their skin to prevent sun burns. Even though at the zoo, we provided mud baths and sand for our Rhinos to roll in, it just wasn’t enough in captivity. We also now rub lotion until their skin. They absolutely enjoy all the rubbing and their skin shows it.
She could, but that’s why the allomothers keep her coated with mud and sand. Somehow the mother elephants have learned how to care for their albino offspring. It’s just amazing. The wild albino female can hardly be identified from the years of daily use of mud and sand. She looks almost like the “normal” members of her herd. But when Khanyisa was tiny, they always covered her with the umbrella during the summer months.
Phabeni is teething! How cute is that!! 😊
A joy to watch - best wishes from Canada ❤❤❤
Good morning everyone, so happy to see our princess growing up so beautifully and behaving so well ❤❤❤ thanks to everyone. I think your pant has become an "intruder" in the Herd 🤣🤣🤣 Have a great day.❤❤❤
Aww here comes Khanyisa, she never forgets to greet Adine. So lovely to see her up close again. Phab has really settled in, seems so relaxed.
Awww now that Khanyesa has Lundi all just for herself as Mommabear, she is such a goood sister to Phabi! And he enjoys every moment with his family! All thanks to you Guys! You are remarkable!
Watching Herd the first thing each morning along with my cup of coffee starts my days with a smile and joy. Thank you for such a gift!!❤
The elephants with their orange dirt on their bodies look like they put on the wrong bottle of tanning lotion. 😅
Yeah -- Khanyisa is esp'ly artistic -- Pink + Orange!! 😅
Or those crappy spray tans. 😅
@@debrahouston2884I think this is the only time I l❤ve that color combo. 😊
Khanyisa has grown and learned so much!
Very relaxing to see our Ellies having their mud and red sand beauty therapy then tree scratching, trunk mouth communication between Gentleman Fishan and Jabu trunk love session with little Phabeni shovered with love by Dame Setombe, Klaserie, Kumbura, Bubi and with little Miss Sunshine who is a great big sister She has grown so tall ! Don't be sad Tokwe, there will be another baby for you
Sono così belli tutti così amorevoli grazie Adone ❤
I’m always in awe when I see Khanysia , you all worked so hard to save that sad , horrible wounded little baby and look what she has grown into . You should be so proud .❤ Not a good time for panbeni if he’s teething .
Once again, thank you for. my morning therapeutic fix of watching and listening to big and little giants. PS. Congrats for new pants lol
When the captions said their heading away from the waterhole and into the bush, and we immediately see electrical wires strung up for miles, I'm reminded that Africa, although still full of wildlife, is becoming more and more a land of people instead of wildlife. This was a very nice video. The Herd immediately respond to Adine, and even notice a new pair of slacks on her.
LUNDI IS MAMBO'S MOTHER--YES?
Yes
There is still just something special about Khanyisa. I love all these dear ellies but Khanyisa just has a special place in my heart. Phabeni is just adorable and I love to watch him, too.
Yes, there's something about her, for me too!
Wonderful time of the yr here as herd has all the natural food it can eat and a water hole for sand bath and trees to rub an itch. Phabeni looks so small among the herd Khanisya finally is warming up to the smallest herd addition--showing there is always more than enough love in the herd ,even if you have to generate some yourself. Thanks for posting.
Is Khanyisa still considered a baby? I thought she looked a little older.
She is 4 years old !!! 5 on next september !!!
Yes, she's still a baby
I think she’ll always be Adine’s ‘baby’ ❤
I love the closeup shots. Their skin is fascinating
Where is Mambo and Sebakwe?
Mambo was foraging and I have seen Sebakwe well submerged in the Dam gently sparring with another Ellie that I have not recognize
Our little Meisiekind is everyone's little darling. She can muzzle her way into any group without a second thought. This is the confidence with which she was raised by Adine/Carers, etc. and now litlle Phabeni is following down the same path. How great is it that this little bull is exuding so much self-confidence at such a tender age? Because our dear Friends at HERD know what they are doing. They are professionals in every sense of the word. It was nice catching a glimpse of the HERD doing what they do best. And our little Meisiekind has become a true "foodie." She eats with such gusto -that just watching her makes me hungry!
❤❤❤
its not your pants Adine its your loving way with the Elephants, and as far as Khanyisa thinks your her Mother.
It’s funny how Tokwe “snorts” at adine as if she understands what she’s saying.
She does as do they all. 😊
Kumbura is a born mother, so sweet gentle and nurturing. I hope she gets her chance one day to have her own baby, she deserves it. Beautiful girl 🥰
Good morning lovlies !!! I just had the pleasure of explaining your organization and the fact that elephants grumble talk. Thank you for loving and csring for them. ❤❤❤
"Of course I can push you as many times as I want dear Adine, you take me away from my family on daily basis" 🤣🤩❤🐘🐘 you don't have a trunk so .... Love Baby Beni!!
Just wondering but do you ever do any parasite treatments for them or yourselves?
I am so thankful that you take such good care of these magnificent animals. ❤️
l’argile soigne les plaies aussi ✊🏼
Phanbi fits right in as if he was a full bull elephant. So precious😊
Human watering hole is the pool on a hot summer day. I love how they interact with each other while in the bush.
How funny when Adine scolds Jabulani …his reaction definitely showed he knew he was in trouble…lol…kinda hard to send an elephant to ‘time out’!
I send my much love to all my beautiful african elephants friends.❤️❤️❤️❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🌏
I feel sad for Kumbura that she can't have her own baby as she clearly seems to want one. 😪
Kumbura seems to be the nanny of the babies. She's so amazingly watchful and follows them consistently to make sure they're ok. It's so amazing to see.
Love seeing them greet you even the baby. It’s so Wonderful to be loved
Our little princess is not so little anymore and is becoming a very good big sister to little wee Phabeni .
Phabeni is quite the feisty little boy, loves to push you around 😂
I remember when Khanyisa was that small.
It was not long ago.
