  • After months of being a hardcore Lana fan, I finally discovered this song in pure shock. I was deeply intrigued by Lana that I've watched nearly every performance of hers, listened to her songs religiously like it was an audio version of The Bible, and watching many interviews those months. I thought I knew everything about her as an artist. Little did I know this song existed. But you couldn't blame me. I have never seen a performance of this song, and Lana fans never mentioned its name either. Long story short, this song was so underrated. It has been a long time since I had listened to this certain song, and it brings me back to those times where I didnt have the problems I had now. This tune has always been bittersweet, just listen to it. I always felt like when she sang "Is this happiness?" it made me sad because I always thought that she didn't know if she was truly happy or it was just an overdose of drugs because of sadness. "High up in the Hollywood hills taking violet pills."

  • This is one of my favorite songs, not just by Lana but of all time, the reason being it's ability to powerfully convey a feeling of numbness. I've struggled with mental illness ever since my late childhood and have had many arguments with my parents, and many, many times in which I believed I wouldn't make it out alive. The feeling this song portrays to me is one had after a mental breakdown, the strange sense of calm that comes after even though you know your life is a mess. This song makes me think of the times I would go to nature to seek comfort, my tears gone away by the sheer awe of the world around me, just as this song does. I feel as if she's speaking to me, telling me not to rage and comforting me through my troubles. This song has guided me through some tough times, I really thank Lana for making such a masterpiece.

  • This breaks and soothes my heart. To be so vulnerable in front of the world's stage and clap back on Uncle Harvey (Cola) and still make money years before the Movements takes a fearless strength that never plays it safe. This person is one of today's creative geniuses. She doesn't really need an award because she's giving her talents to God.

  • This song, surprisingly was one of the first Lana songs I'd ever heard. I dont know how I came across it because it's not super popular, but I'm happy I heard this early. I'm just sad because you can't stream it on google play. But this song has so many multi meanings, and the more I listen to it, the more themes I realize. Lana even said in an interview once that she has realized after doing many interviews that one big theme she seems to focus on in the her music is celebrating love even when its lost. Which is very special. Lana captures the moments of time with a person and describes them as if taking a picture. She tells a story, and shares many ideas with every song. Everything she writes connects with people, but it connects with everyone differently. I don't believe that shes truly asking a question, I think shes more describing the relationship. Saying that throughout everything, and every moment there was always the question of whether or not it was right, whether it was meant to be. The whole situation was a neverending question. Honestly, I'm not lana so I dont know why she wrote what she did. But either way this song has always made me sad, but also made me wonder. Some Lana songs arent necessarily sad, but meaningful, or showing her remembering something of the past. Lana celebrates lost love by making songs like this and showing, or telling the moments, and emotions. Its art.

  • I was struggling with wanting to live or die. I was laying in bed, having difficulty breathing due to my body reacting negatively to the amount of unhealthy food I ate earlier. I was struggling to breathe and I eventually gave in, got out of bed and walked around, whispering feverishly to myself: "I want to get better, I want to get better." I've chosen life. Listening to this song to celebrate.

Thompson I think you're fucking crazy as the day's long Man to man, heart to heart I love you but you drive me so far Wish you well on that star Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm [Chorus] Is this happiness Is this happiness Is this happiness Is this happiness [Bridge] Witch Hazel, Witch Hazel Betrayal, betrayal One gun on the table Headshot if you're able [Chorus] Is this happiness Is this happiness Is this happiness Is this happiness [Outro] Hmmmm Hmmmm Hmmmm Hmmmm

This was one of the first songs from Lana that I listened, after Born to Die and Summertime Sadness (and just because a friend said I might like Lana). I thought that she was just very wrong and I only listened after some time. But then I found this song and Ultraviolence and Honeymoon and a lot of unreleased music. So Lana became one of my fav singers/ bands and the only one that is not rock/metal... it's sooo good, I can't deal 😭🥲❤️
