  • The fact that the Mustang build is a definition of Sean's character on this part of the movie. The body and chassis of the Mustang itself is American itself which defines Sean's looks, the inner parts of the car however like the engine(RB26DETT), inner parts of the car, etc. are Japanese which means Sean's way of driving and his culture itself has now been transformed into the Japanese racing/drift world.

    @ramal5708@ramal57082 жыл бұрын
    • Yes, I believe that is exactly what it represents, an american with a japanese heart. The mustang representing his exterior/appearance, while his heart, the rb26 engine, is japanese.

    • This movie was released first before NFS Carbon was revealed by the community. The devs said that the canyon duels we're inspired by Initial D and also this movie. Idk who the fuck said it but it's definitely an inspiration. And they added Takumi's AE86 in the game, which is a nod to Initial D, which is really perfect.

  • I enjoyed the character development of Sean in this show that I find is often unnoticed. In the beginning he was like DK was at the end. Stubborn, angry, impulsive, and so forth. I enjoyed the mirror image of how things were in the beginning of the film represented in the final race when they line up. DK is looking to the side at Sean, and Sean is looking straight ahead. In the beginning Sean was looking at him whilst DK looked ahead. A nice detail I often enjoy on my rewatch binge. Him analysing and looking over the mountain at the end, he knew he was facing the best and this isn't some race like it was with the rich kid in the beginning. But now he's got the tools and the ride to handle it. Guy got focused and matured.

Basically the would start with you're left hand and the idea behind it is every finger starting with the pinky that's cut off weakens the grip on your sword until you can't hold your sword anymore. They would cut off their fingers themselves as a form of apology to their bosses for failures or speaking out and disrespecting them or any other higher ups.

I know it was a version outside of America), he has all of his fingers up because this hand gesture means something different there. They didn't bother reshooting the scene with his fingers down, they just cut them off in editing.

In the first race, Sean looks over to Takashi and revs his engine trying to intimidate him, but Takashi keeps his cool and stays looking ahead as his focus is on the race instead of playing mind games. He also lets Sean overtake him on the straight, knowing the race has just begun and he has time to make up the ground. Takashi then has a clean race while Sean ends up wrecking his car by crashing so often. • Clay got his trust fund money, a Viper of his own and got a football scholarship to a very prestigious college after his dad got his charges dropped for illegal street racing using one of his companies corporate litigator friends to defend Clay in court on the grounds that it will ruin his very promising future. Sadly he got arrested and convicted for sexual assault years later and got kicked out of his school. He frequents the local Applebee’s bar on his fathers money juggling with substance abuse. Cindy broke up with Clay after the accident and started an OnlyFans but after meeting the right guy she’s been cleaning up her life and is seeing a therapist to work on her insecurities and low self esteem.

  • So, a lot of comments are asking why they're drifting, saying turning normally would be fine, so I'll answer this here: Tires are made to grip the road at certain speeds, the faster you go, the harder it gets for the tires to grip for a turn. There is also a maximum turning threshold when it comes to speed as well, meaning the faster you go, the less you can turn the wheel otherwise you risk spinning out. Drifting gets you past both problems. By drifting, you can hit tight corners at speeds above the tires normal threshold, while keeping for spinning out. To do this, you have to essentially sling the rear wheels out past your front wheels, while counter steering to keep the drift going, this allows your wheels to stay in a free spin while also propelling the car around the corner. If you do it right, you'll only lose a minimum amount of speed. That and there's the fact the whole movie is about drifting.

  • For those “remember when F&F was about racing?” people, understand that F&F saga was never about mainly racing. Cars and races were secondary to the primary plot line. Tokyo drift is the only movie where racing and cars were put on the fore front. However, F&F 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9 put racing and cars as an attention grabber and then in the background

    @JamesMoore1997@JamesMoore19972 жыл бұрын
    • Kind of. You had car culture as a whole in the movies. Fast 1-L.A.s young imported street racing; 2Fast- Miami's money making opportunities; Fast Tokyo- Drift and Japanese car culture; Fast 4- Drug business maskerading as "innocent" street racing. Not now, now you have.... "family". From Fast Five onwards that feeling of car culture went out the window.
