Corsair Glaive Disassembly

Sorry about the bad quality. This video will show you how to disassemble the Corsair Glaive, and fix the common double clicking bug. The double clicking bug described in this video can happen to many different brands of mice out there, but is especially common in the Corsair Glaive.

  • If you have the updated glaive the mouse buttons are on the scrollwheel board, so you wont have to take off the side buttons which will make it easier. Also if you need to access the main board you will have to unscrew the silver screw between the side buttons then you can just wiggle the green board up. The only issue I had was that the copper bar had popped out and it was a pain to get it back correctly, but it did fix my issue.

  • Hello, Red Moose. I have no labor skills of my own and this has been so hard. Seventy two hours of upset. But I have managed to disassemble my glaive mouse, open the switch cabinet, perform the fix on the contact leaf, close the cabinet, reconnect and reassemble everything, and realize a fixed mouse all on my own. It is so unlike me but I want my pricey device to fulfill a long life. I appreciate the things I have and will not simply purchase a new device as a means of convenience to solve the issue.

  • Thank you! I had one with the rubber "tire" slipping on the metal "wheel", causing my scrolling to work only some of the time. I'm impressed by how this thing is assembled so that it can be worked on. You cured the handicap I've been living with for a long time. I love you, man!! lol

  • oldie but goodie! i was wandering around looking for info on replacing the usb cord originally. i have 2 corsair glaive mice that weren't working. the original had a bad left click button, the second had a bad usb cable. i watched your video to work on the one with the bad button but soon realized that the usb cable was just plugged in not hardwired like so much stuff is. I went with the cable swap which avoided the main mobo bring removed, and everything is great now. so much was laid out by you, i was able to do this MUCH faster than from "scratch". thanks again! if the buttons on this one go bad i know where to go next time ;)

  • Brilliant guide, thanks so much. The middle mouse button on my Glaive was seemingly dead, and not wanting to buy a new one without first trying to fix it I came across your video. Turns out I had a load of dog hair stuck between the switch and the mouse wheel axle. Thanks again, very easy to follow guide, works perfectly.

  • An excellent guide. Fixed my problem. Thank you, sir. As an addendum to any viewers, when removing the pads, do not attempt to scratch them up with your nail, as this will damage this outer layer. I used a narrow screwdriver to hook in under the corner of the pads and peel them upwards.

  • On the first day of using my Corsair Glaive mouse, there was something loose inside it, and after swinging a lot, strangely a bolt dropped out, I didn't know where it had come from. When the double click problem started, I decided to watch your video and after disassembling it all found the place where the screw belonged, that is, two problems solved with one blow. Thank you.

  • I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting this to work at all, but it did and it saved me $70! DO exactly what he does in the video and you're golden. It fixed the problem I had where when I would click and hold, the mouse would just stop registering the click, or when I click once it would double click. It also makes the physical click sound much quieter and more soft feeling which is an unexpected bonus!

  • Thanks for the disassembly guide. After 3.3 years of use my Glaive started occasionally double clicking, mostly when pressed from bottom right of the button. Broke other one of the magnets in half when they slammed against each other. Half a magnet on the other side is still plenty enough. When I got to the main board screws I noticed they require smaller tip screwdriver which I don't have... Didn't get further than that. How ever then noticed that my problem might be a bit different. The "hammer" pressing the switch had worn a groove into it. Also the black middle part was deeper than on the other one. I added two layers of tape on to the top of the "hammer". Seems to have fixed it. Button clicks the same no matter how I press it.

  • 6:48 Just some random information: I didn't do it with this one (yet) but i did do it with other mice which have the same switch. (as nearly all mice i guess) You can shorten the way the little metalthing travels and thus make the click more silent and lighter. You'll have lower resistance basically. I saw a video once where someone put a bit of paper in it to heighten the metalthing but i found out you can also just bend the hook which is on the right side in the video down carefully. This is better since the paper sometimes moves and you have to take the thing apart again. I made stupidly light resistances with this on my old mice but you can also lower it just a bit.

    @jx4219@jx42196 жыл бұрын
    • If you bend it to much, it might not give proper contact and cause double click issues (due to no proper contact). That is how I fix double clicking on these switches, by bendig this metal clip a little outward.

      @nopedandafafet186@nopedandafafet1862 жыл бұрын
    • @@nopedandafafet186 Yes, it's a delicate proccess. But after you do it it stays the way it is. I'm using my bended light click mouse for some years now with no issues. Mainly did it to make them more silent.

  • Thank you so much. My mouse wheel was rolling in place and this video helped me a lot. I guess the trickiest part is taking the side buttons off and reassembling the top part of the mouse hahah If someone has the same problem as me (the scroll rolling but not working), The rubber that was loose, not the wheel itself. So I just had to glue it to the wheel and it works fine now.

  • Was following along and doing alright, but when I opened my switch up the little copper thing jumped out! Had an awful time trying to put it back in; I'm not sure what bending I ended up doing to it in the process, but my mouse doesn't seem to be double clicking at the moment. Though, the click in general has gone really quiet, rather than a nice clear click.

  • I used to take micro-switches apart to clean and adjust them, when I repaired office equipment. It was always, at best, a temporary solution. The replacement switches are usually pretty cheap, so if you can solder, the best thing to do is replace the switches. What you're really doing by bending the metal piece is moving the point of contact slightly, hopefully to an area that's less tarnished or burned.
