  • I went to the same uni the same time as him and would go to the monthly stand-up nights. That was almost 20 years ago and I remember most of the other comedians went from one joke and punchline to the next. What set Ismo apart then, and still does now, is how he picks a theme and just keeps looking at it from different angles, breaking it down, finding new insights, and evolving the story even when you think it can go no further. No matter how small the theme. Kudos, sir, you're truly one of a kind! My favourite, hands down!

But the conclusion is dead wrong the opposite, intelligent people think when they need to and are thoughtless if thought is unnecessary. Thought is like a knife, few things are it's the best for, like communication, organisation of knowledge. Learning by thought for example is mechanically impossible, you will always generate thought out of already existing knowledge. The lack of consciousness about human mechanism is humanity's nr1 problem since forever and 99% of our problems is generated by it. Starvation, wars, all chronic diseases, all suffering, etc.

  • My ex-girlfriend would sometimes say she doesn't feel the least bit sleepy, that she's pissed off because she can't fall asleep. This was right when she laid down in the bed. Five minutes later she was always sleeping. At 6 am I made her breakfast after having been up all night and couldn't think of anything else worthwhile doing. The doggy style sleep with alcohol isn't that good and healthy REM sleep, it's truly dog's sleep. But hey, better than "don't worry about it, just go back to sleep" in the morning is when you tell that you have trouble falling asleep (you've been getting only a couple of hours for the last two weeks) and they recommend you to just lay in the bed eyes closed and if it so happens that you STILL can't sleep, it's no problem because at least you get a bit of rest. And maybe they also tell you to still wake up early with only a few hours of sleep and guarantee you that you'll fall asleep the next night. As if you hadn't been living pretty much like that for the past two weeks, and now you stay up all night the next night because you got even less sleep and when the night comes around you're "over-exhausted" and too stressed out to fall asleep at all.

  • In the army (it's mandatory at least half a year for men in Finland) I learned the exceptionally valuable skill of being able to instantly falling asleep, every minute of sleep if you had a chance was crucial so I developed this amazing talent of just sleeping anywhere and for any length of time but always being perfectly aware of when to wake up and be clear on what's going on, I have only somewhat lost this ability but can still use it from time to time, almost feels like a superpower when I perfectly pull it off.

  • This is super weird. On moving vehicles, I can fall asleep pretty well. But in my own bed, I can have major trouble falling asleep with my own thoughts keeping me up. The odd thing though is that while I can easily sleep on a flight that's a few hours, I have never been able to sleep for more than one hour on a 10 hour flight to Europe.

  • I don't know why, but when I board a flight and sit down, I am out asleep before they get everyone boarded, which is why I try to get a window seat so they don't have to wake me. On the downside, I have woken up after a flight and not only has everyone deboarded, but there has been a couple of times I missed my connection because I overslept.

  • Ismo, you've been starting to develop mannerisms. Saying "Like" pretty often during this clip. That means you're comfortable in English more, but also makes you sound more like an ordinary comedian. Your pacing is a big part of you, don't go full American.
