Please, for the love of God. Don't. Ever. Stop. This. Series. You guys are amazing, props to Peta and my holiday's truly aren't complete until the games begin and the drinks are flowing. Cheers! Edit - *Boop!* Edit Edit - Orientated Mother Trucker! Edit edit edit - I woke my wife and sleeping baby in the room up 2 or 3 times trying to stifle laughter. Wish me luck trying to explain that one in the morning lmao
10 minutes in and Chris looked wasted already. One of the better B&W episodes of the last few years
lol 😂
5 min. You were being too nice
The ‘boop’ at 6 minutes tho 😂
It's about body mass though - he's half the other guy's size !
I look forward to this post all year long!
Chris' lens-juggling abilities are terrifying
Terrifyingly amazing! I flip lenses better when I’m drunk. Didn’t even drop it once!
Lens juggling and lens chugging
@@niccollsvideo- well, not in the clips that made the edit. ;)
I was dying of laughter with jordans face! hehehehehehe
I was praying don't be like Linus from LTT, and drop that....
For photographers, videographers, and camera nerds the world over - this is peak entertainment
Get them more drinks…. and let them debate…..I can bing on it till Christmas!!
You know Christmas is coming when Chris and Jordan do the yearly run down with drinks and games! :D Also, you can't have Christmas without Chris ;)
I’m the best ornament around!
Oi mate, now you make me spit my drink, lol. Preparing a cloth for next year then, best holidays for everybody. @@niccollsvideo
YES! the tradition lives on!
Chris deciding to drink from the lens at the end is peak camera nerd comedy.
27:58 Chris taking a lens swig 😂
Getting pissed whilst making any kind of video carries an element of risk that it might all go badly wrong. Big thumbs up to Chris and Jordan for making, every year, great content whilst absolutely bladdered. Nobody else I can think of could do it. Classic again and loved it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
17:45 oh please, Chris ages like fine wine.
Awe shucks!
Panasonic s5ii x. The one and only. Proud user of Lumix cameras since 2008. Never looked back.
All the X-S20 owners such as myself watching this video… 😂 Glad you’re still doing this episode.
Thanks for another year of nice and entertaining camera reviews and podcasts. Glad to see you guys landed well with Peta Pixel and look forward to seeing more next year. Happy holidays!
Love this tradition. Thanks for continuing.
Camera Guess Who? Is an absolutely inspired idea. I want an app-based version that generates a random board from the full DPR database. Probably not a game with mass market appeal, but I think I could be a champion.
You can tell you're watching a Canadian when their breath is freezing while they're wearing short sleeves.
Beer and camera talk, what's not to love about this. Would be curious to know what brewery this is!
We state it in the video but it's Tool Shed Brewing Company here in Calgary
@@niccollsvideo Literally saw that mentioned a few seconds after my comment haha. Thanks again dude. Cheers
@steezyasfvck Damn I never knew you were interested in photo related topics as well. Appreciate the music you share on your platform🙌
@@steezyasfvckYour Lo-Fi tracks are beautiful! I’m gonna check out more of your channel when I’m tying flies and such.
The highlight of the camera gear talk!!! Thank you for all your hard work, cheers guys!
"what if he enjoys it" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 , this duo is just something else
Thanks for another brilliant and funny best and worst, I am so glad you kept this tradition going. Although it is a bit early I wanted to say thank you PetaPixel for a great 2023 and Happy Christmas PetaPixel team. PS.
A fixed date every year! I'm celebrating it. Greetings from Vienna, Austria!
Chris’ competition suggestion for next year: “competitive reloading, target shooting.” [while drinking?] Jordan: 😳
So basically, I have been watching you two idiots for over 10 years now.😊😊
Who’s the idiot now! 😂
I’m so glad this series (and you both) continues despite what had happened.
That M11 monochrom is the correct answer. Considering picking up the Pentax K-3 Mark III Monochrome, an entirely new system for me, just because the leica is out of my budget. I really want those beautiful black and white tones and crazy low light / better noise distribution from removing that color array filter.
You would get your beautiful black and white tones via playing around with e.g. curves in Photoshop or Lightroom. True analog-looking noise can only be achieved when photographing noise free at low ISO (or denoising higher ISO images), i.e. getting rid of any digital noise, and then simulate film noise with e.g. a dedicated plug-in. crazy low light? You wouldn't want photographing auroras in B&W? I haven't seen a single noteworthy B&W photo done in "crazy low light". Not worth taking. With a color camera, you keep decisive B&W benefits: 1- higher dynamic range (for high contrast scenes). This is achieved from the RAW converter's highlight recovery, which exploits that one or two color channels still have tonal information, while the brightest color already hits the histogram limit. A B&W camera (recording the sum of all colors) would be already clipped = useless there, while a color camera can recover e.g. bright white clouds from the not-yet-clipped color channels. 2- better high ISO results (lower noise), because denoising software has access to the color noise, and treats that particularly efficiently with dedicated algorithms. Whereas a B/W camera simply throws all color noise on top of luminance noise. Fox example, on a color camera, a noise outlier pixel will have a color, making it easy to separate it from the scene's texture, and to remove it. Whereas on a B/W camera, it is as gray as the scene's texture, therefore easily overlooked by a denoiser. Also, the next-gen AI denoisers require color images, they are trained solely on how noise appears on such images. 3- applying flexible color weighing when converting to B/W in postprocessing. For example, locally differently for different parts of the image. Or even negative weights for a color for more creative options. 4- removing the strong color fringing of Pentax lenses, with the help of the color of the fringes. Not possible with B&W cameras, where fringes would be white or gray fringes in their full glory, baked into the photo forever. 5- retouching, such removing distracting objects, or any workflow requiring masks: Only with full color (i.e. before B&W conversion), such masks (i.e. the objects selections) may have sufficient quality, or may be even possible. Furthermore, the next-generation ultra-high quality AI selection aids have been trained solely on colored objects.
The Pentax K3 III monochrome is indeed awesome. It’s a different experience. Those talking about converting image to BnW in Photoshop haven’t tried the camera. You have to work with the RAW images from the K3 III monochrome to see the difference. KobieMC channel and others have great discussions of the surprising results. Low light? Indeed, phenomenal. I own one and love it.
You 2 are just hilarious. I'm always looking forward to your end of the year best of videos. Buuurrrp!
And...cut!! I laughed so hard at this.
I stumbled upon this page randomly while researching cameras as I want to get into wildlife photography. You guys have made me laugh for sure and are helping me to narrow down what I'm looking for while also learning about photography. Thank you!
Thank you for the chapter markings! I wish everyone did this.
your review of the 20-70 was the nudge that got me to pick it up, absolutely in love with the thing.
I was afraid this video wasn't coming this year, but I'm happy to see it. What I need t know is how many drinks Chris's had at the beginning of the video and how many at the end, maybe next year you can put a counter! I know I would appreciate it
I had the mimosa and then about six full pints.
Ah, looked like a strong mimosa! haha. You won the drink count for sure, that's a victory@@niccollsvideo
With the R100 Canon really should've designed it more as a replacement for the M6, though a bit bigger with the mount diameter. Something like that paired with the RF 28mm would be a fantastic travel combo
M6 is much better than this crap. The loss of direction at Canon is why I switched to Sony now.
It's absolutely mindboggling that Canon has such a large market share. The most expensive of any system when accounting for performance, the only system blocking 3rd party lenses, and much more dumb stuff. I hope Nikon can regain some of the market share they deserve.
I bought the Z8 with the Trinity! Just brilliant package!
I just bought the 20-70mm lens, so it makes me happy to hear it’s #1 for the year.
Im glad to see the xs20 got the nod. Ive been considering that or the a6700 so that's good to see. Also im surprised the Nikon Zf didnt get any love. Seems like the next x100v to me
Not me! And not most Nikon folks lol. They did love the Z9 I’ll give them that though. Chris is a well known “Sony Shill” 😂😂
@@mikedfurman ya but to be fair the same can be said for the x100v. It didn't really hit its stride until several years after it actual release
@@akyerit yeah. And I’m only kidding, Chris is great and he calls himself a “Sony shill” as a joke.
Damn ... it's the time of the year ... again. Crazy times, crazy times indeed. The episode I'm waiting a whole year for!
So fun and informative. Merci! You always look to have fun and your reviews are always top notch. Thanks for your great work.
Great video and glad to see my S5II as the #1 video camera! Crazy that it's actually cheaper than the G9II on the holiday sale right now. It's a steal.
Great film questions and great answers!!! Especially Jordan for the Before Trilogy 🔥
25:20 “does your company also make photocopiers?” LOL Chris
Yes, the boys are back with their end-of-year drunken shenanigans. Thank you for yet another (I'm sure) highly entertaining vid. P.S. The Cube movies are Canadian? No shit! Loved that scifi series.
The worst trend this year is shit EVF in cameras like the A7CR x-s20 R7 & R8 other than that it is a great time to be a photographer!
Totally. Getting 2.3 million dots in 2023 in cameras at and over 1K$ is ridiculous
Fun Video fellas. It was good to see you at the Shed that day and see you in action!!! Chris ... love the drinking from the lens at the end. Cheers.
28:00 Chris took the wrong cup to drink
The lens swigs. 😂 Entertaining as always!
im glad to know my xs20 made the cut, amazing apsc camera at a great price!
Drunk Chris might just be the best thing ever
I am. Thanks you for noticing. I try my best.
@@niccollsvideo 😂
“Maybe I’m a morning person” 🤣🤣
25:56 that time of year indeed.
Amazing video as always!one of the best duos!
Love this end of the Year Videos of you both. And honestly there is no one who can compete with you in this regards. Legen... Wait a second... Dary! 😂
Hearing "burn in hell simian" nearly dropped me into a coma lmao
Ah yes, it's that time of year once again!
Nikon has really impressed this year. Glad to see it coming back up, good show guys 👍🏼
keep that grind chris nickles .. Sick
peta-Files lol 😆
I was waiting for it. Tradition 😅 Thanks Guys for another great year.
Holy Cripes that was hilarious 😅😂🤣. I was only waiting for Chris to put his arm around Jordan and, drunkenly slur out, "I love you man....😵💫", then puke on the coffee table. Too freaking funny, loved it 👍. Oh, AND I did take advantage of your discount to Audiio through your affiliate link sooo......yeah, you owe me a beer. 😁
This is awesome can't believe I been following you guys for 10 years too, keep up the good work boys
Drunk Chris is my spirit animal 😂
0:12 the golden moment🤣
Another one down!, far out! lots of laughs. Thanks guys :)
I'm only a third in and already Chris is off his rocker.
I paused my big bang theory marathon to watch this yearly tradition. Lets go!!!!
they are so awesome, love this videos
Thanks for keeping the tradition alive 🎊
Nikon really won me back this year after abandoning them for Sony 8 years ago. Great mirrorless options, the awesome retro Zf (which didn’t half-ass it), impressive colors, fast processors, amazing autofocus systems, what’s not to love? PS: These guys have more and more over the years become my go-to for camera reviews. Straightforward yet breezy and entertaining at the same time.
I sold my 24-105 and bought the 20-70 three months ago and I love it.
YASSS!!!!
Thanks for another fun video for the end of the year!
You guys were right at that drunk line between “I love you” and a fistfight.
Thank you for the wonderful video (very fun) and stills / video insights!!
Hysterical lads - Jordan on fire, Chris getting steadily more drunk and irate - loved it
Always one of the highlights of the year. And something I actually look forward to. Thank you again. And yes, I am drinking too. 🍺
Don't you two go all Hall & Oates on us😂
Super Monkey Ball for the Gamecube was peak gaming
10 min in the video and Chris was seeing unicorns :)
Here you are ! i was wondering if there will be a christmas show this year, and i got served :) Thank you mates !
This is so great! Why can’t we get more content like this
The Video I‘ve been waiting for all year long 🎉
Yes!!! Been waiting on this.
I always look forward to Chris' slurring get progressively worse lol, which this year is 21:55 🤣happy 10th!
My top 3 best camera of the year is : 1) M11m 2) GFX100ii 3) Nikon Zf
25:20 DoEs yOuR ComPaNy aLso MaKeS PhoToCOPiers?!, ahhh yes the the perfect question for a camera guess who.
It's like watching toddlers do camera reviews and toddlers are generally brutally honest too. Best camera review of 2023😂
Nikon Z8 well deserved!
I love you guys. Don't ever stop doing you.
Great as usual, thanks guys. Cheers
The X-S20 almost made me go back to Fuji from MFT while I wait for Sigma to make a new camera. I can't really argue not having dual card slots because one of my work bodies is an E-M5.iii, which also is single card. Weather sealing is another thing that I kind of want, though. I'm just waiting for used prices for solid examples to pop up. The physical dials of the other bodies are neat, but 95%+ of people have their camera in aperture priority (or even in program these days with how much better that has gotten) with auto ISO so all you need is an Exposure comp dial, and I'd rather have a command dial for that personally. Even when I shot manually with my X-T30, X-T3, and 50R, I would use command dials for everything but aperture (lens ring is king). I saw zero point in using the dials because I'd turn shutter speed close to what I want...then use the command dial to tweak it... every time... so why not just use the command dial? I love the switch on my Olympus bodies that let me have everything on dials quickly with pressing buttons like my G9 that is my other work body. It makes sense they want the X-Sx0 line to be kind of user-friendly with PASM controls and cheap enough I guess. If I could get a Sony APS-C camera that was basically like the G9ii was to the S5ii, reusing most of an A7iii shell and component wise, just with a smaller sensor package using the same tech as the larger package but with better IBIS, I'd probably pay 1800 for it... if they had as many high quality APS-C native lenses properly priced (it shouldn't be cheaper for me to buy a full frame 50mm f1.8 lens than the APS-C 50mm f1.8 even if the APS-C one has optical stabilization).
you wrote so much but nothing significant , camera is great for this price
My dream, as a 68 year old boy, would have been to be there with you, right behind the camera, but to experience those moments of joy, and little alcohol with you, but I live on a small island very far from you. But I'm sure that one day we will meet. I follow you from Dp.Review, now you are on this magnificent channel, and I will always follow you. Warm greetings from the island of Capri
I’d happily do the next best worst video on Capri!!!
My favorite time of the year! Wish I was in the audience chugging a few IPAs with you.
So happy to see this year end tradition continue!
The real winner is the Audience! Who get to keep you two going!
Some people choose the lens first and build from that on. Chris and Jordan, would you rather start with that Sony 20-70 and then pick the body or choose Lumix S5 ii(x) and go with an appropriate lens?
Only thing missing here was a food fight.😁
Guys! It’s not even December yet! Gonna save this one for closer to the new year lol
So entertaining! Great stuff
Honestly this is a fabulous holiday tradition
Chris drunk is the best thing on the interwebs.
Already looking forward to next year👀
Always my favorite video of the year. Like watching a 30 minute train crash! Thanks guys and Happy New Year!
I look forward to this every year! Seeing Chris and Jordan piss drunk is awesome.
