  • @zedsj exactly, and when those training habits get embedded into your muscle memory...that can never be a good thing. I try to stay away from competition because of this. mind you i'm more of a shotokan guy than anything else; been doing than since I was 7 or 8. I recently started wing chun too btw. I like the feel of it; its a bit more dynamic than other styles although the forms are a bit too long for my liking. Sui lim tao was a bitch to learn for me as im used to moving in stances.

  • A few iffy points.. Especially the one at 9:49 Why did Aaron get a point?? (I know why it went up- due to setting on the daedo) but that point along side a few others should've been spotted =/ Pressure vs Sensor both have their ups... Sorry if I missed something

  • @zedsj I agree with you but there are two types of training; traditional martial arts training and tournament/sport oriented training. As a martial artist AND a competitor it is important to understand the difference between the two types of training and adjust accordingly when preparing for a competition etc. Leaving a martial art because of the scoring system is not really a good reason. In doing so, you would have completely missed the point of the martial art.

  • O Aaron Cook dispara golpes limpos que nao deixa duvida de computar um ponto (The Aaron Cook shoots clean blows that leaves no doubt to compute a point).

  • MMA is not a style of martial art, it's just a type of tournament where your background can be anything, karate, box, taekwondo.

  • @Farizor no pal you are wrong, the red fighter is one of the best players in the world and I believe that he will get defenetly a medal in 2012. The scoring system is also the best you can get until this point, the old system was a disgrace because of the judges, this is what all TKD fighters believe.

  • because here they are actually allowed to hit each other, and in here you really have risk of getting seriously injured, and bcs this the martial art with heaviest knockouts of all,in boxing you get ko-ed,but get after a minute or two,but here you will almost always end up in hospital with memory loss,or a broken jaw or broken spinal chords.

  • Not misshaping at all. Within the context of Martial Art rules or not he taught to learn and strengthen your weakness. Can't box? Learn boxing. Can't kick, learn a kicking art, etc etc. That's what I meant in a nutshell.

  • @zico1024 Nice, hope your journey goes well. I loved shotokan as a kid, tkd was my plan b after i couldn't find a good place. Last year I trained with a karate guy in wc, he loved it too but was hard to get him out of the 'tecnique' mindset and into the 'concept' mindset. Re the forms, c'mon there's only 3 forms ;) I recommend you read the very detailed description of the slt form at my sifu's website wcats .com. I've been through 4 wc teachers, his stuff is by far the most mindblowing

  • Did you read boxingfan786 comment I replied on? He's says that these guys should be doing MMA or Boxing because that's where the money is at, I replied not everyone does something for money, he bashed Taekwando, so I bashed his MMA/Boxing and used the 'gay' comment, sorry....I should've not said that as others might take offense, but it was geared at boxingfan786, do what you want in any sport, regardless of the money and MMA, Boxing, Taekwondo, etc. is NOT gay. Peace.

  • good comment. cant stand when people who think 'mma' is a martial art and do some botch mma class once a week for a year start thinking they understand martial arts. don't people realise martial arts is founded on moral principles and, in the case of chinese arts, Confusious teachings? Oh well, guess that's what martial artists are here for, to educate the ignorant.

  • How do they get points? Rules have changed and its not tkd anymore.. Dae Do is about power.. u get points when u kick your opponent hard.. unlike the old days.. you score based on how many kicks youve done .. no electronic system.. i think this electronic scoring applied way back 2012

  • This just proves that mma fighters don't have any respect whatsoever, seriously guys we don't hate on you're sport and whoever does is not considered a real taekwondo athlete. So why should we get this nonsense from you? we don't care what you think and we definitely should not be wasting our time explaining anything to you now please go away.

  • omg in every video i go one everyone is having a discussion about different martial art is the best an that one is gay and one is the best lets get this straight i do wtf taekwondo but when your sparing you cant do half the things that tkd really is because you probably couldn't do without seriously injuring or killing your opponent even with protectors but the thing is no martial art is better than other its all about the master the fighter.

  • boxing and MMA are gay.. tell that to anderson silva.. tell that to klitschko. Nothing gay about them, every sport holds different opinions to different people so allow other people's choice. Aaron is from where I live the kid has some real talent, but if he chooses to apply it in Taekwondo instead of something else that's his choice :)

  • @zico1024 i used to agree with you....but after 15 years of training, 10 years of it in tkd, the problem i realise is that such competitive sports encourage unrealistic training habits that your body absorbs but is not good for you (the instability shown in this fight for example is a huge issue i have with tkd)...anyway i dont have all the answers but you sound passionate, share your thoughts at my blog: walkingbamboo. wordpress. com
