  • Taekwondo saved my life at 15... it ironed me into a Man... After competing I later went on to the US Marines... and being a Taekwondo competitor 100% assisted me in my time there.

  • some taekondo moves are good for military use like dissarming but not for real fight too much spinining will make your most sensitive areas exposed like spine and back of the head :D

  • excuse me, this is WT Taekwondo, not Old School Taekwondo, which is ITF. Taekwondo has kicks but also hand techniques, elbow, piercing finger and also grabs and disarmings.

  • Modern tkd is like barbie girls trying to kick. This is why I just trained old tkd style but I decided to continue in Shotokan Karate. Respect for old TKD but not for the current style.

  • LOL, moms & dads of today would be horrified if little Timmy was learning how to kick the crap out of other people and take a hit in return. They want that fake - sanitized Taekwondo so Timmy can get a cheap reward of a meaingless colored belt because they looked pretty doing forms.

  • Não podemos mais assistir os golpes mais usados do passado da ITF, pois penso que a modernidade reformulou o ensino da arte e os atletas WTF não aprendem o que parece estar reservado para poucos.   • We can no longer watch the most used moves of the ITF past, as I think that modernity has reshaped the teaching of the art and WTF athletes do not learn what seems to be reserved for the few. Either today's masters are selfish in their teaching or the federations turn a blind eye to promoting the potential of the art. SilvaDoBrasil

    • The electronic scoring system isn't what ruined TKD sparring IMO. How they use it to count weak kicks for points instead of setting the power threshold higher is certainly a contributing factor, but this nonsense where if my sock slightly rubs your headgear then I get 3 points has really lowered the quality of the sport/ martial art.

    • @@NDcompetitiveshooterimo it’s the rules, the restrictions on type of kicks, the restrictions in clinches, the restrictions of falling on the ground. Electronic sparring probably will make sparring more eventful as refs won’t have to actively stop matches to count points.
