Will Our Super Cheap Porsche Drive Again?
This week, Jack, Ethan, Edwin and Kyle (@skyrocketautomotive670 ) dive into our abandoned Porsche 924 project car, which had been left in a field for 20 years, and was the cheapest in the country. How many parts will we need to change in order to get it running, and can we even drive the car at all?

No! That would mean one 924 less on the street…
😂
@Landon-si5xc In the name of 🖕🖕🖕
😆🤣🙃😆🤣
It needs just one replacement part. The car itself 😅
I can't believe this death trap is able to move on it's own. Maybe these German engineers knew what they where doing...
Spoiler alert!
Sure thing old german cars had been rly reliable and build for forever if treatet normal nowadays the cars are build to break after 100 thousand kilometers .
This good please every time something cheap 🚗 🚘 this good video😊😊
@@Deadtrigger24 not the wire looms. In The 80thies Japan mare better Electric and electronics in theirs products
Shame that's not the case now
This is the best car channel on this platform because it actually shows how much of a pain in the a*se this stuff actually is rather than just cutting to it working 2 seconds later.
@@Landon-si5xc bro what 💀
I like how you all have managed to revive CT back to its glory after Alex left, the content is mint 🙌
Alex who? ;)
Alex leaving was great news. Now we're getting cool stuff from Car Throttle AND AutoAlex. Best trade deal in history, maybe ever
'OLLLDDDD AATTTT YA AANNNNDDD!@@songogu9
@@songogu9yes absolutely, Love both AutoAlex and CarThrottle content
Alex was the reason I unsubscribed. He was getting really annoying.
This content is without a doubt the best CT has ever been. Congrats guys!
As much as I like Alex, Edwin seems to be a better fit in this trio. Alex seemed to overshadow Jack and Ethan (mainly Ethan)
What am I expected to do until the next episode!!!
@@Gobbbbb100% Edwin is better than Alex.
Alex who?
@@nicksims2827 exactly. Ct don’t need Alex. They thrive without him
This content is mint, jack Edwin and Ethan are a great trio.
Can’t beat Edwin’s passion for cars and Ethan’s passion to do bugger all 😅
He is allergic to manual labour
unbelievable levels of engineering in this video 🤯
💥💥🤯
the fact that the literal youtube channel only has 1 comment and isn't even at the top

KZhead comments for likes and replies but didn't get them, so sad:(
This is such a worthy follow-up to the Golf GTI - If you get this running as good as the GTI, you should take this on a trip to where it was built, too. Awesome stuff!
they need a third zombie car and then they all race them.
Take it back to meet its maker! Is that VW in Wolfsburg?
@@robgraham9234 sounds familiar.. Nah, nevermind.
@@yonatankarya I’m sure someone out there doesn’t know that the porker 924 is really a Volkswagen. That’s why it’s actually quite good looking, not incredibly ugly like most porkers.
@@robgraham9234 mostly because VW screwed Porsche in to making the 924
Opened KZhead and there is a new episode. Nice.
Same
Same!
A full restoration where you weld new metal and give it a full paint job where you get Ethan to paint the car would be awesome !!
I must say, when Alex left, I was worried whether car throttle could survive. For some reason I felt reluctant to start watching again. However having just binged all of the GTI series and throughly enjoyed it, I don’t know what I was worried about. The chemistry between jack, Ethan and Edwin is great and you guys are more than capable of standing on your own 2 feet. Keep it up guys 👍🏼
Absolute KZhead gold. Can't wait for part Three!
Absolutely love these videos bringing back old classics from near death. You guys are a great team and it always puts a smile on my face seeing a video drop onto YT 👍
The pro-mechanic wearing a Rush t-shirt gives him +5 cool. Love seeing these recovery vids!
She lives! Well done. In a time where people bin off their 3 year old cars because of a few electrical faults, content like this is shows what a passion for vehicles is all about. Taking cars that post people would look at as junk or just too much work and breathing new life into them. Plus any of the solutions YOU guys think of might help someone else with a problem on their car. Good stuff.
He* Ships are she, cars are he.
@@PointNemo9 no. Cars have always been she.
I have a 924 as a daily for the past 5 years. Am glued to this adventure you boys are on! Cant wait to see the supercharger. Also, replace EVERYTHING on the ignition side. They need a super strong spark to kick over reliably (especially in winter). I've tried a few and NKG leads seem decent. Also get a battery with slightly higher CCA rating than standard. Oh and good luck with the mystical WUR
Love the fact you spent the entire episode bending under that knackered bonnet and bashing your heads off it to then take it off at the end for the test drive 😂
This has to go to stuttgart and the Nurburgring too 😂
I love this! I've been restoring my barn find 924 luxe 1984 for over 10 years, it runs/drives and is motd, just got back from stonham barns classic car show with it at the weekend, it's totally OEM, I'm in Suffolk but if you ever want a Porsche 924 collab give me a message! I support this project all the way!
I just saw this on Facebook... And then I got so invested on seeing that beauty open its eyes after years and see it run on the streets again.
Please restore this! Then supercharge it! I'm fully invested in this and I hope she ends up on the road... I also saw someone say you should respray it and get Ethan in on the respray and I am so ready for that 👀
These guys just make my day 😂😂
I am curious to where this project will go, I want to salvage cars with my brother and this motivates me alot!
Start with something easier. Most importantly, something you can find parts for, reasonably easy.
Start with something cheap, that way if you bugger it up it doesn't matter as much 🤣
@@BCNeil okay i will take the advice!
@@Kafna we will probably bugger up a few times in the beggining do its good to get a cheap car
This channel is aboustley killing it lately. Fantastic work guys!
I love these kind of attainable builds! Thanks for this content! I also love that you all proceed to bump your head into the bonnet all episode, and when you’re finished wrenching you take it off😂 Keep up the entertaining good work guys!
Enjoying this current content very much, best CT has been in a long time. Really enjoy watching you guys get your hands dirty too, just 3 guys working on a car and having a laugh. Always a great watch! Would like to see you guys leave and make your own channel in future, and do exactly what you want to do.
Honestly.... I find nothing more relaxing than watching people work on cars and motorbikes. Especially those restoration videos.
Loving this series so far! And the golf content. These revivals are where you guys shine!
Genuinely excited when I see a new video drop from you guys, epic content as usual
Great video, glad to see the channel back as good as ever
Absolutely loving what you're doing at the minute guys. Keep it up!
I LOVE this kind of videos! Loved the golf build as well. Keep it up boys!
Honestly just binged like 2 hours of this channel. Watched some of the older cheap car challenges then randomly got recommended the newer stuff like the Volvo and the Saab being priced up and its only had me laughing my ass off at 4am on a Sunday. I think its only gotten funnier without Alex tbh - your trio dynamic is great and the banter you have with the various mechanics/dyno specialist/sellers of cars are just top notch.
Found your channel today guys...what can I say? Just brilliant! I am starting my own 924 rebuild in a couple of months and will watch you intently from now on Keep up the great work
heck yes, am loving having Edwin on camera now. Seeing Ethan's enthusiasm for these recent projects has been great
Love it great job chaps, really looking forward to more in this series 👍🏻
Love how you methodically run through testing and getting these old engines. Have been showing my son it. We both asked why you didn't remove that scrap bonnet early on and chuck it out the way to give you more room!
Love to see this kind of videos. I just fixed up min grandpas old Volvo PV (11134) from 1964, thats been stored in a barn since 1979. Got it besiktad (the swedish version of MOT) on friday last week. Love too work on older cars.
Edwin opening the parcel was brilliant! literally my fav member of the team
this is the content i like to see, love what you guys are doing and the synergy is great.
please don’t ever stop this series with other cars !! it’s so great, unique, enjoyable and satisfying honestly, especially like the barn volkswagen
You boys are doing really well. Jack you’ve come into your own and the others aren’t over shadowed! The show is authentic and I prefer it now. Best of luck 💪🏽
Absolutely loving these series of builds. Keep up the good work, the 924 is a beast 💪🏼
Love this series, could easily sit and watch for half an hour if not longer. 20 mins a week isn't enough!
Love these videos, the golf and the 924 have been great to follow - keep it up! 👍
I was worried the this channel would loose its mojo after Alex left!! But this is honestly my new Top Gear! It's fantastic!! Even find myself coming back to watch episode again and again!! Keep up the amazing work guy's 👏
Loving these types of videos! Keep them coming
Amazing video guys! So happy to see it running, looking forward to the next one 🤩
Its been said a lot but you have found the golden trio, you guys together are awesome... keep it up 👍
Resuscitating more German metal. It's like a Rammstein Réunion gig, only more palatable. 😅
Love Edwin’s passion and knowledge for cars
Surly a trip to Rome in the new "GT" . Loving car throttle and the direction you're taking it. Keep it up, guys. Just the right amount of everything.
Enjoying this new direction you guys are taking, keep up the vids!
Nice project !! Can't wait for part 3, i'm curious about that supercharger mounting !
These are great cars for this sort of exercise, they respond really well to good mechanical assistance and I love the enthusiasm the lads have for getting at it.
Shining example of health and safety 😅 Gotta love CIS injection. Top tip, if you wire the batteries in series you'll get double the spark😂😂
Love these 3 guys. Also well played to Ethan for playing the straight guy in these videos and acutually making them funny. It goes a long way
This episode is a thing of beauty. Well done to all involved 👌
The content has been mint lately!! Proud of you guys making that thing run 😂
Great to see you guys back on the boil! really enjoyed the golf to the Nurburg ring and now the Porsche!
Excellent project! Re. Starter wiring harness, they all do that.
Thoroughly enjoyed that ye all bate your heads of the bonnet, that had a massive hole in it, and only thought to take it off once you had the car running 😂 excellent stuff lads
Lovely chaps, great series as always. Keeep it up laddies
Brilliant work:) love it can’t wait to see next episode:) good luck
Now this is the solid gold 100% top quality content we all need in our lives ❤❤❤
Love it, well done lads, laughing all the way through
Amusing to watch, well edited and packed full of facts. Compulsive viewing chaps!
Great to see you gentlemen save the old Porsche. I think it’s beautiful and has a lot of potential. And let’s not forget about that supercharger!
This is one the best video’s, top notch series y’all!
I love how this channel has happily gone a new direction with the change of personalities and lack of shouty mini Mike Brewer! Keep doing this guys, it's brilliant 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I really like these videos, I just wish the uploads were more frequent. Keep up the good work lads.
LOVE YOU GUYS KEEP THE CONTENT COMING.😀
honestly this is the most exciting thing you've ever done rly rly love it!
Back on track guys. Enjoying your videos again.
Love these series where you buy cheap cars, need more :)
Subscribed!! Looking forward to the next episode!
Awesome project, so invested in this.
Looking forward to seeing her all cleaned up !
Love what you guys have been doing lately, first the Golf now this Porsche. As for what you guys said in the Nurburgring video: Can you guys please make a Track Car out of it for Ethan? Like, fully restore it top to bottom, supercharger, coilovers. And then let Ethan, and yourself obviously, blast it around The Ring. Cheers ;)
I love when you actually bring back a car to life and mint it out in a series. I think you should supercharg it but only after you revive it to top shape. Love the series already.
Another cracking video from you three.
I came from facebook and the moment i came u uploaded the continue of the video from 2 weeks ago lol 😂
Brings back memories.Had one of those in 93. Was a T reg so a 79 I think. Had most of the issues you brought up. You become very knowledgeable about k jet quickly with a 924.
I love these videos!! Hilarious and informative.❤
I enjoy watching Car Throttle again! There’s to be done for sustainable content but I love this format!
Awesome. Just awesome. I'm into this as well with mine. It's been sitting 21 years. And I'm recommissioning it. Thank you for the map of what to do. You guys are awesome.
The enthusiasm Edwin shows to cars. Amazing!
Just found thos channel and i am loving it!!
This was the perfect balance of car tinkering and entertainment. Nailed it!
Amazing content guys! 🫡
So proud of Ethan: from losing a screwdrive bit down the soark olug hole on his Honda Jazz on his first ever service, to taking 20 year old stale fuel to the face multiple times and coming back for more in 3 yewrs is one hell of a trajectory! Didn't even seem that bothered when it was pointed out that it wasnt ideal to be breathing in fuel. *Shrug*
Keep series like this coming!
You’re my new favourite car show. Can’t wait to see what becomes of this Porsche!
Nice work lads, can't wait to see how many rear right callipers you need for this!
@@Landon-si5xc I'm happy worshipping Satan but thanks for yhe offer🤘

It really is the best mechanical channel. I recently bought a 924 that wouldn't start. I bought a new harness on a specialized website and now it works like a charm. This car is so great! 😍
I also bought a new harness from porsche.924.harness, I haven't received it yet, I'm really looking forward to it. Have you already installed yours?
@@juliettedosh yes it's the same website, it was super easy to replace my old one
got to love these projects!
I can already hear the whine of the engine as opposed to the whine of the supercharger. Doooo ittt. Can't wait. From San Antonio, TX.....cheers 🍻
