I remember playing that song when I started high school. We were so bad🤣🤣
My school does it at pep rallies.. Trust me, they get wayyy better.
@@pirategamer6630 proof?
I played this song in 4th grade but we all played 2nd part
Clean all together I love this I miss cheering ✨
We just started our marching routine for our spirit show and we did so good
This was that hype in high school!! I wish I joined the band lol.
This song is so fun to play on trumpet
It’s so easy
@@nickstick2823 ikr
I can barely hear anyone except the percussion
Yeah that’s kinda a thing in all pep bands
im from a drum line and our director can only take one of each percussion instrument because we play too loud
I mean it's alright on a scale of 1 to 10 I'm sorry I'm going to have to give it a 7 because I can barely hear the tuba
@@PepsiRed456 I couldn’t even hear it period and I play it
Maybe if the person recording it had been down in front of the band the balance of the instruments would have been better.
get that girl a lyre
Her postures scaring me
dude I play trumpet and I think it’s easier not to use one
We play this when our Varsity basketball team runs on the court
my school's MB has this as a pep tune. 2 things are very notable about this song: 1) there is a rule in my region where if the band plays while football is playing, it is a 15 yard penalty so we can only play between quarters, timeouts, and after touchdowns. Therefore, we almost never get to play this song all the way through. It's been a tradition that we all sing the rest of the song once they start playing since there's no rule on that. 2) During the song, everyone does horn motions. At the part where the band starts to play, every measure we move our entire bodies a bit to the left and then the next measure to the right, as well as putting our right fist up when saying "hey." The band director had nothing to do with this. Everyone just decided one day that we were gonna do that.
damn first rule is rough
I edge to you baby
Sounds great! Good job
This sounds like my schools middle school band can’t lie
playing this on the clarinet is fr so fun 😩
did you really have to put that emoji
@@Lobster_Juice What’s wrong with it 🤨
ain’t no way 0:58 my boi looks like he’s done with life 💀

This takes me back. Gah I miss these days! #Trumpet4Life
Wtf I have a 6 people group that I created that plays for various school festivals and stuff and we’re 10x louder
I was thinking the same thing
I swear they are soo quiet
I thought I was the only one who thought this! My section of 9 saxes can out play them(probably not the percussion? They actually are the only ones who can pose a threat)
My football song
I'm gonna play this song with the band 😀
I know this dance like the back of my hand from when I was in school
Do y’all start with a sousaphone playing F in quarter notes? Or is it only percussion
Good job everyone
There is an entrance from the tenor sax that isn’t heard at all. I guess that’s the benefit of our 20 piece.
u just earned ur self a sub man 👍
We play this on the college level
Why am I watching this right now LMAO
Are some of the trumpets holding their flip books in one hand and playing with another?
As a trombone player we do some really fun visuals
I was at max volume when trumpets came in💀
Great Job
We play this song in my band, but it’s slightly different. More swingy. We call it “low brass cheer” and while the percussion is starting by themselves, we do a “one… two… one. Two. One two three *music*” it’s a lot of fun
Us too! More swingy and will a jazzy trombone solo
3/10 for the band and 1/10 for the drum major. Good luck to you all.
Ikr there is no pep to it and there not loud enough
Yeah I come from the Marcus Highschool Marching band and this is kind of sad..
Yeah I say
Tuba be louder
Tbh i dont think theyre that bad they just need a bit more practice thats all
Why do they have a French horn in a marching band? And why do they have sousaphones but also euphoniums?
Where the rest of my tuba brothers at!!
Where’s his mellophone
My cheer team dances to this c:
Someone please get that trumpet a lyre
Tunas Sydenham love
Shout-out to the trumpet playing will Holding notes or anyone else who did
The title of the song is Rock and Roll Part 2
Also known as the “Hey Song”, weird how it was given a second official name
@@Sudden_Tax It makes sense, in a pep band setting calling out "The Hey Song!" rolls out of the mouth easier than "Rock and Roll part 2!" I also wonder if certain people knew the background on Gary Glitter if they would want to disallow their kids from ever playing anything he wrote. Kind of a despicable person.
@@jimnaden5594 he was an awful man, but I think that’s the reason it was called the “Hey Song”, so they could get rid of his name as far as possible from the tune while making sense
Reminds me of penn state
I wonder if the winds here know what fortissimo is
the marching bass clarinets. i used to be that guy lol. now i play tenor sax. ( it projects better & farther)
Seems like you don't need a crowd when you have Pep band!!
It’s tackle football I’m on high school oak grove
Tell me why bass drums were off tempo
As a trombonist they got a G flat wrong, it’s 2nd not 3rd
😮
they need to be louder and not so low
Isn't this song called rock n roll thats what my director calls it
I know this song
You forgot sometimes you have to sway back and forth
Now play Gary Glitter's "Touch me there"!
not me singing the lyrics my marching band made up lmao
Rip French horns
Yesterday we at school I’m 14 and in 7 grade middle school- high school and and I got 7 class and we go out football field and we was play because outer people was in gam they go to class we was playing my friends was in the band they ask me and my outer friend help them start playing and I like yes they like was like k and me and him started saying in 1 2 3 4 and we started to we get done like this video I like ok y’all can stop now y’all did good 👍📣😀
You guys look like you are having no fun. Us here at Castle High in Hawaii we go Crazy and we have fun this is also kne of songs we play at castle foot ball games. Besides on wisconsin and smoke under the water
Not only are they quiet they need music for the easiest song I’m in 8th grade I can play this song on trumpet trombone and drums all without music
SOUP 🍲
What’s with the music?!?! In pep band we memorize the music.
NO ONE WAS WATCHING THE DIRECTOR/DRUM MAJOR!!!!!!! Plz make sure your watching!!!
They can't watch the drum major and read their music at the same time lol. Back when I was in high school band if you didn't know the music you didn't get to play in the pep or the marching band.
@@joe31533 I agree and disagree. I’m in marching band and a few other bands. Yes you need to read your music.but you should always have your body facing them so you can look up at a glance. Tempo is key to band. You can mess up a measure by one wrong note but you can ruin the whole mood and song if you don’t keep tempo. I’m a freshman now. I’ve also learned that you learn your music notes really fast too.
@@brycemurray1744 You need to memorize your music. That is a pretty common song they are playing and most of them don't have it memorized yet.
@@joe31533 their is no reason they arnt watching. Their are no excuses. Know your music or not they need to watch
Brass. MORE AIR
Error detected: no tubas or volume
There was a sousa wym?
@@Chelsea-ox7gd bro you don’t get it, they don’t make a single noise to be heard
The guy playing the french horn was playing to low like a low c should be a B flat
Naw in my band the whole is playing there loudest no matter the dynamic
my clarinet group can out play all of them in volume. these guys need to be louder, p.s we got 9 clarinets
In my high school we have 9 as well and two lud trombones that outplay the whole band
We only have 4 clairinets in the entire school and im one of them
I’m in percussion and I think it’s great but need a tad less percussion
Or for the winds to actually play loud
It looks so bad when band have to have sheet music.. memorize your music! It’s like. 8 notes
bro is base drum one even playing
Jesus Christ is God
U can barely hear em
Just mic quality it sounds better irl
Come on sousaphones I know you’re better than that
They have lairs for the hey song 😭
Even tho I'm in middle school I play this song manly because of eighth grade night basically they get to play with the high school band. Its really fun... my band is pretty good for a middle school band sound wise. Rhythm wise I feel clarinets are the worst. and notes low brass is bad. Anyway in high school band aren't they supposed to memorize there music. At least at the high school I'm going to the have to
what low brass
Ikr it sucks playing sousa and only seeing 1 in a huge band
@@Sudden_Tax I wasn't saying there was only 1 in this band nor did I say i was talking abt this band I'm saying in general low brass isn't popular.
@@Sudden_Tax did you parents ever teach you manners or how to appropriately use punctuation? Starting a conversation with, "You're blind," expecting a polite response. To add on to your statement, I never gave any context as to who I was talking about, because I was making a general observation.
@@Sudden_Tax if anything I did point out what I was talking about when I said "a big band," not this band not Ohio State; a band.
@@Chelsea-ox7gd I would like to say sorry for my nephew’s actions(forced to let him have permission to my phone), he got mad because my School’s marching band didn’t make state(no clue why, doesn’t even include him), so he tried to make people unhappy too. I’ll like to say this again, sorry and thanks for putting him back into his place(literally he had no words to say when he read your comment).
Big low brass section, no sound. In our band, we have 4 trombones and they OVERPOWER percussionists.
I have a 10 piece band and we are better and louder than them
They all look bored
This hey song is lame
