Everyone keeps saying how he's big, when I think he's a dwarf of sorts. His face and body is far too big for his legs. Most elephant trunks will extend to their leg height, this ones extends to the ground and needs to be looped. Kinda sad really cause you know that he had to live his whole life dragging his trunk on the ground or holding it on one of his tusks.

Why do such huge elephants with exceptional body character like long strong tusks,huge body with a huge hanging bull, long trunk with big ears .....why they don't have their own herd, why they lead their life seperately alone away from the herd.... AWAITING YOUR REPLY

- In the wild, most social groups are built around females. They form herds, prides, packs. In larger animals, males have territories overlapping that of several female groups. This ensures maximum chance of spreading his genes while his offspring get his protection. Females are largely responsible for raising children, males keep the territory safe. Elephant males often form loose coalitions but older, larger, dominant bulls get mating rights. Bull elephants also go through musth, a period dangerous to anyone around them. There would have been a time when bulls remained in the herd. But the musth period would have harmed young elephants/females in the herd. Hence bulls evolved to leave the herd and stay away. The loose coalitions also ensure younger bulls are controlled by older bulls during musth. Evolution rewards behavior which ensures every generation produces grandchildren. Tribes work for humans, prides for lions, solitary for others.
