We are watching and listening a woman who held her mic all the way to the hospital, was still practicing her singing even when her mouth was wired shut, and started practicing choreography as soon as her hips healed. And the fact that people from her company said it is a miracle for her to be able to sing again! The drive and passion Wendy has for being an artist is unbelievable. She is a fighter.

I can't believe its 2 years already. I listen to this on occasions when I'm down and it always heals me. Her voice is so soothing, her visuals in this MV is just breathtaking aesthetic. Wendy is so previous.
I honestly believe this is what makes Wendy different from other kpop idols, while others tend to follow the trends, she chose to stay true to herself, by creating an album that gives comfort and consolation to those who need words of encouragement. She doesn't need to produce loud a** beat kind of music just to prove her worth as a singer performer. a bit of instrumental accompaniment and her voice alone will do it for her. I guess she isn't the type who focuses on such results like charts, views sales achievements or whatnot, otherwise she would choose the safe zone. Those who doesn't know anything about music won't obviously appreciate her works, especially this album being ballad per se. But that's what's respectable about her, she sings to inspire, she knows what she wants. Despite having one of the greatest vocals in the kpop industry, she stays humble and grateful. Very endearing. In my honest opinion, she's passed that kpop idol phase, as she's a real artist in the making. And kpop is so lucky to have her.
This is so on point. I think Red Velvet and the members in general have reached that point where they are okay to do what they want because they’ve already made it (i guess it really was during Perfect Velvet era). They have the leverage to release songs and concepts that they want to do. I think before that they were expected to give results but since they’re already huge, they’re given that leeway. They’ve ALWAYS been outstanding at every concept they do. But now it just feels more them. More personal and authentic. Reve Festival Finale - MASTERPIECE. And I said this a lot about Like Water album. It’s very sincere. It wasn’t made to be a big global hit. It was just made to express her sentiments and that’s very respectable for an artist. The appreciation of many intl fans was just a plus.
She’s stated so many times that this album was for her fans who waited and as a form of thank you for waiting for her throughout her hiatus. She could do any genre if she wanted and SM helped her single out what songs she wanted and what direction her album will lead up to. I mean she could have had chosen RnB and pop heavy music but she didn’t. She’s also not the type to stick to one genre although her passion for music has always been on the RnB, jazz, and ballad genres. But she chose ballad-ish songs for now because it feels like that’s where she knows how to convey the proper emotions she want to show to the fans this time around. She wants to make all kinds of music, even something like Leave The Door Open so to say she doesn’t want a loud *ss beat when she probably coulda woulda want ta but maybe not for now. I guess I just don’t like it when people box her into one genre because in hindsight, that’s mostly all she ever sings because its whats mostly spoonfed to her you know. But I agree, she’s a cut above from the rest of her peers. She’s in a whole league of her own. Though there’s big expectations being an artist from SM, I, too, agree that she could care less about sales and charts. But I mean we never know how she truly feels. Maybe she does care to an extent because the public and fans expect so much from her and there are big shoes to fill in coming from a company like SM. I always say this this though. She has yet to show everything she can do. Whether it’s anyone who follows her as a fan or listens to her for the first time, she has that special voice that leaves you yearning for more.
