  • Congrats John! I still can remember that Scottish Open semi-final against Judd Trump in 2016, where he came back from 1-5 down to win 6-5, after that he lost touch a little with the top players like Ronnie, Judd, Robertson, Selby and the likes. Let's hope this performance will bring him back to the top a little closer! This will do good for his confidence, but now comes the hard part, containing this.

  • Ronnie has been playing for 6 months with the fear to lose (e. g. dead frames played is a clear signal about it), hence tactically accurate players notice these situations and focus only on their occasions that Ronnie obviously concedes, because of his current frailties. Ronnie is the best in the world by a wide margin , but nobody has his own status granted, so his game plan is too predictable and needs renovating.

  • Astonishing consistency to drop only 1 frame on the way to the final, john fully deserves his title👌🏻 Not ruling out ronnie, aside from the world championships in 2020, he’s made 4 ranking finals and lost all of em. Not to say that’s poor performance by any means but is underwhelming considering how naturally talented he is. With his current patchy performance, I don’t fancy his chances of defending his world title at all :/

    @bensong87@bensong873 жыл бұрын
  • Ronnie needs to mature up mentally if he wants to win another wsc or more. He doesn't know his strengths and has done well only due to his natural talent and some practice. His biggest strength is being a front runner and sleeping in the first couple of frames doesn't help that cuz if he notices there's a pattern in his final defeats whether it is Selby, trump or higgins; he doesn't take the match starting seriously enough. I wish he would treat them very seriously from first shot but perhaps he doesn't have the drive to win finals anymore. Anyways, happy for Higgins for ending a long wrought without a ranking win especially some comfort after losing masters to an inexperienced kid.
