    • @@larrydanadavid2435 Unnaceptable? It’s a business. It’s ridiculous that a player is worth that much, but that’s the amount of revenue a player can create for a franchise. Probably a lot of new money from the asian community who is the least represented in baseball, let alone sports. I don’t like it as much as you do, but it’s why many celebrities invest in sports franchises.

    • @@ddebenedictis I don't see why? I used to have a physical education teacher who was apparently quite fond of North American sports. So it was a lot of baseball in the warmer months. Never have I been so bored. Either you're standing in the field, waiting patiently for a ball to come your way (which it never did), or you were sitting on the bench waiting for your turn to bat, which almost never happened, since the teacher insisted on the 3 outs rule. Literally no one plays baseball here, so actually getting to first base was quite an achievement. It was beyond bizarre. Still, I do agree that every kid should be able to throw a ball. But there are better sports to be taught at school.

      @micheltenvoorde@micheltenvoorde3 ай бұрын
    • @@micheltenvoorde You are right, I didn't mean every child should play baseball, I just meant that going outside to play, including tossing a ball around with a pal, was really fun for me. Also, a baseball just happens to be a really good size to fit in your hand so it was pretty easy to throw reasonably accurately.

      @ddebenedictis@ddebenedictis3 ай бұрын

  • Frankly, as long as it gets more or less on target to the catcher it's not _too_ embarrassing. The one bounce pitch and the one that looped right over were kinda okay. Bad throws without a doubt, but like, if you're gonna be bad at throwing then that's not embarrassingly bad. There was also one that basically dribbled to the catcher, and one that went wide but still catchable that I would give 3rd and 4th on the embarrassing but not too badly so scale.
