A ufc champion can pursue other endeavors outside of the sport and make supplementary income. Look at all the stuff Woolley was involved in when he was champ. One thing Jorge was spot on about : Gilbert dropping Usman and then letting Usman recover by laying down for 2 mins instead of immediate getting up even if he took some punches getting up

That was kamaru being aware and recognizing that’s what Gilbert wanted and cleared the cob webs like that and just stood over him kicking his legs and stalling to recover. The ref would have called a break in the action and stood it up if kamaru was just standing there he was staying busy ENOUGH so he could recover.
In the parallel universe Askren kneed Masvidal in 5 seconds and is giving pre fight interview with Kamaru Usman to Ariel Helwani.
We actually did change to a different Paralell Earth in September 2016, which is when Oscar Meyer changed to Oscar Mayer, and Cheverolet changed to Chevrolet, and Hilary changed to Hillary, and then we all know who won the election right after that.
