At the end of WW2, the world breathed a sigh of relief. This relief would be short lived however, as almost immediately the world is plunged into an era where the entire world is under constant threat of nuclear annihilation.

  • 5:03 Even if the US sued for peace in response to Soviet entry, I think it beats the alternative. Had the Soviets been able to occupy territory in Japan, they would've closed it off like they did with Berlin and East Germany. Avoiding this meant a free Japan that was intact and could be rebuilt as a whole. I also doubt the US wanted to spare the approx 300k casualties (they made Purple Hearts in anticipation), not even to retaliate for Pearl Harbor.

  • I think people saying that the Atomic Bombs weren't necessary to end the War with Japan are "Monday Quarterbacks". Given what the American Military saw with Okinawa, both the Japanese soldiers and civilians willing to die for their country, and the outcome of the last negotiations it was very possible that Japan would not surrender until destroyed with a least 1 million causalities in 1946-1947. Given what the American Military and President Truman knew at that time dropping the Atomic Bombs were their own viable option. If they had more information they may have only dropped one or none of them.

  • The original title of these videos was "MAD" followed by the title. This documentary is YEARS old. Feels a little bit sneaky trying to rename It to "Fallout" just because of the Amazon Prime series. This documentary is still pretty good, but this tactic IS still misleading.

Is y has KZhead became so unwatchable, I mean I tried to watch your video but before doing so I had to watch around two minutes of hideous adverts but my issue is I was hit with MORE ADVERTS after only watching around 3-4minutes of the content which makes it completely unwatchable! Is this how KZhead is gonna be from now on!? The adverts are so stacked up that even the adverts crash! KZhead needs to be investigated or shut down because this is horrendous

  • This is happening when some people (ISRAIL / USA)want to control the others some of the others will obey, like my country and many other country's... but always will be someone who will not obey and resist.! for the reasons above the humanity has come to this point that you need M.A.D to secure your country's safety and remind them that we will lose all in the end...

  • Better to lead from the past through example then condemn what can not be changed. Unless, of course, you're only interested in being a dick and shaming. Then, by all means, carry on. There's a good chance you'll get your point across and deteriorate the social fabric of society. Kinda like what's happened before.
