Just a quick rundown on the 25 pound little giant power hammer
Пікірлер
Your video was quick, informative, and to the point (not alot of uhh uhh, you know). The best I've seen yet as for demos. Thanks for putting it on here.

Interesting video, but I wish you would have shown a bit more detail of some of the mechanical parts of it, like the clutch and the linkage between the crankplate and the hammer.

That is impressive flattening power in such a small hammer.

Hey Tucker, thanks for the concise, yet thorough video! You're the same TAP forge that shows up on /r/bladesmith and /r/blacksmith right? If so, I'm insanely jealous, it's great to see someone branching out, and at the start of an incredible journey. I'll be watching, and hopefully learning from you as I have with our shared sub, Mr. Wheeler. See you around the forums!

Love the video but when it comes to eye protection face masks are much better safer more comfortable and if you made more videos I think you would have a large following

Do you know, you are the only guy I've seen on KZhead showing you how to use a power hammer, telling you NOT to hit the two dies together as I was taught. That was a big no-no. Greetings from Sheffield England.

Having fabricated brakes and guards for these hammers, I disagree with Rick Marchand that these machines were made with both. I have never seen evidence of this on either a hammer or period literature. Regardless, both a guard and a brake are very good ideas!

Also depends on which version you're looking at. the earlier ones have no Sow block (the part that holds the lower Die ) and have Ram guides at front, and rear, instead of at the sides as this one in the video does. The later versions will always sell for more money depending on condition, and completeness.

i got the skeleton (base casting without hammer, motor and linkage) for 500 form a friend and i put about 1k into it for parts and did the full restoration myself. in retrospect i wish i would have done a video on the restoration...

Hey bud... saw this video on BF. Like yours, most of the folks I know who use Little Giants don't have the guard or brake on them. They were all made with them and whether you locate the original or retrofit a decent alternative, it is a worthy investment.
