  • Been using this screwdriver for ages now so convenient when just to have on you and its lets you travel alittle lighter for small bits and pieces

  • I can see this being kept in the front of the van rather than your usual toolbox/bag/tote. Like you say, for preliminary looking at a job . Dirt would likely be its enemy but for saving carting a whole lot around ...it's a winner

  • I have 1 of these, really handy for quick little jobs where you dont want to be lugging all your tools around, great for testing and inspections too everything you need in your pocket, its easy to catch the locking mechanism and have the bit fall out, it does get jammed sometimes and not lock properly too, but its a great piece of kit

  • I'm a big fan of Wiha. The lift up is great for pricing, pop in jobs, for me not a permanent replacement. It comes with a couple of issues, one you've mentioned, magazine pops out, the yellow bit holders can break out and the lock opens when your "screwing" and the bit falls out. Apart from that it's a good buy.

  • Baught one today after recommendations from a collegue. Like it alot, a bit big handle. Biggest issue is the locking mechanism on the bit holder. A twist-lock would be better, when you put it in tour pocket the lock moves back and releases the bit.

  • Love this screwdriver. Admittedly they do break really easily but if you know how to look after them they will stay in one piece. I've also learnt how to fix them if they do break and it's actually quite easy. I've also put insulation tape around the 2 buttons which you press to release the magazine because if you drop the screwdriver, the buttons will fall out and get lost. Then the magazine won't close. I do a lot of maintenance and it's really convenient to have this screwdriver in my pocket. I hardly every use a regular screwdriver now. This screwdriver and my Knipex 13 96 200 multi pliers are the 2 tools always carry with me

  • Great video! It is necessary to prepare this kind of insulated manual screwdriver. Not long ago, I bought this kind of insulated screwdriver of the renhotecic brand. During normal use, it is very safe. Everyone can prepare one if needed.

  • I gotta admit it is pretty cool and would be really helpful when going on a survey or quote. However the longevity would concern me. The amount of times you would probably sit there and play with it popping it in and out I'm sure it would eventually become fairly stiff and/or break.

  • I like the idea of this, like Gaz says carry one screwdriver instead of 6. I have also been looking at investing in a torque screwdriver so I would only need the handle part of that. 👍

  • I brought two of these as i was impressed with it. My first one fell off a pair of steps and the plastic clip that holds the lid down came off. I managed to clip it back but the handle part of the screwdriver always pops up no and then even with the two clips down. One thing i like about this screwdriver - A tip for anyone thinking of getting one... the bits for this screwdriver fits in your impact driver. I dont like the release bit as putting this driver in my pouch i find the release bit unreleases the bit which can get lost.

  • Gotta admit im a Wera man ,i like the fact the wera doesnt have the connection half way down the shaft .. .. only downside is the torque screwdriver only does 3nm .. give the wera VDE socket set a go guys , it's bloody fantastic bit of kit

  • Great product. No excuse for losing those bits now 👌

    @brad30@brad303 жыл бұрын
  • Had this for about a year now, the idea is genius, the execution not so much, the pop up part is pretty flimsy and the bit locking is annoying, you pull farward on the collar to lock the bit into place, meaning whilst in use it's easy to pop the collar forward by accident and the bit fall out. I'm hoping Wera develop a similar product because I think they would nail the design

  • I'm a technician so not a heavy user. Very handy for doing inspections as you just need one tool when visiting site. However, I dropped it and locking mechanism broke. Bought a 2nd and same thing happened within 1 month so it's not practical. Better to buy the kit with the smaller handle and not this all in one unit - too fiddly for real world use unfortunately.

    • I e had about 4 for that exact reason bit I love it. I do a lot of maintenance work and it's ideal to carry in my pocket along with my Knipex multi cutter. Ive figure out how to fix the screwdriver so I don't have to keep sending it back. I've also taped around the 2 buttons so they don't fall off when you drop it

    • Absolutely! Hopefully there will be inproved version. But this is nasty one. I broke off yellow bit holder in the handle within weeks , then I accidentally dropped it and the red flap little "hinges" broke off. Solution - none. Its too fragile. I bought another set - the one with 16 pieces and smaller handle.

      @vanagskristaps@vanagskristaps3 жыл бұрын
    • Same here. Very little dust jammed up the storage function and tightening up a connection made the sleeve to spin independently to the handle. I was tightening a mcb busbar connection and when it happened I thought I'd stripped the threads, began to undo to replace the mcb but it was the screwdriver and when I checked with a normal screwdriver the mcb was not fully tightened

  • So the only problem i have with this tool was after 2 years, the lift up mechanism gets stuck so you have to lift it with your other hand while squeezing the sides. It loses its lift up lol. Dont try to use bits on a drill when unscrewing old flat head screws. Cracked my bit. Dont borrow to other people. They break it. My yellow bit holders have cracked from dropping it or not putting in the bits in properly then closing it cracks the holders. Wish the holders were more metal not plastic. You can easily unlock the bit from the end by accident. Id definelty buy another one as long as i know what easily damaged.

  • I have one of these and have had for 6 years or so. It's great in some aspects and not so great in others. The bits themselves - they're 6mm instead of 1/4". So close to being standard but not quite. That's typical to all Wiha. The selection of bits - it includes the PZ/Sl for MCBs etc but no regular sized PZ2 which is a bit annoying. If you don't push the bits fully in to the holder it gets stuck half in and half out. It's a bit big for my size 9 hands, the regular Wera screwdrivers are a much better fit for me. The worst thing is probably the locking slider thing. It's just where you'd like to put your hand/fingers to use it as a spinning collar but pushing forwards releases the bit, then it falls out and disappears across the floor. But it's very convenient.

    @tomcardale5596@tomcardale55963 жыл бұрын
    • The 6mm bits might be perfect for the vessel ball ratchet. They are a very tight fit with nost 1/4 hex bits.

  • Something else to go wrong due to wear and tear. Then you'll revert to your four screwdrivers, not six.

  • theres a flaw with this screwdriver, not great when you are trying it fit it into the holes on a electricians ladders at the top where you keep your tools as it touches the edges of the screw driver bit and pushes it back making the bit fall off it. should have been a lock and twist system to prevent this.

  • I'm not sure about Q, i think Wiha may have a Danish Designer Probably. Carl Sperg. Or maybe not!!

  • I have had this screwdriver for about 1 and half years for my job its really versatile and convenient but the downside as you say the end does keep popping up also on mine one of the catches or glued spring inside which helps holds the magazine end in place came off and now end pops out all the time, also recently the magazine inside the individual yellow parts which hold the individual screwdriver bits in place i have one broken and feels like the rest are going the same way soon(wear and tear).. So my advice on occasional use will last along time many years on a professional stand point Very convenient, but it wont last the test of time i'm afraid.. I'm still looking for a similar design the handle is a bit big in the hand, on the whole is a good electrical screwdriver. But wont last 2-3 years if used all the time..
