Hi! I wanted to buy a adidas authentic jersey but I’m not sure about sizing. I’m 5’6 and normally a xs or a s but I’d like the jersey to be oversized to wear over leggings or bike shorts. Would a size 42 be better or a size 44?

Thanks a lot. I've always bought Adidas since I began collecting a few years ago, and this reassured me. For those looking for a second opinion The Hockey Guy also did a great video on this. He does treat Fanatics fairly as all thing, but he does end up choosing Adidas like most people.

an old ccm jersey i got years ago had heat pressed name and number of wayne gretzky it peeled off and i had to get it stitched on my kings and rangers ones. i do feel the ccm ones you got in the stores back from 1993-94 to 1999-00 wear cheaply made hints the price and were more of a replica than feeling like the real thing.

Adidas jerseys are hand stitched, while Fanatics jerseys are pre- stitched. While I think Adidas are higher quality, Fanatics and Reebok are more comfortable. If you buy from Cool Hockey, they give you a choice between hand and pre stitched. 'Pre-Stitched" means the numbers and logos are stitched together , then heat pressed on to the jersey. I buy all three variations because some jerseys are simply harder to find than others. For instance, if I want a Florida Panthers away jersey and the only one I can find is a Reebok, I'll buy it because I don't know if or when an Adidas or Fanatics variation will come along. One thing about buying a cheaper jersey, if the player in question gets traded, you won't have as much money invested in a Fanatics as you would an Adidas. Fanatics also offers protection if you buy a jersey and the player on the jersey is traded within a year of you purchasing the jersey. They will replace the jersey with a current player.

I think fanatics now handles all jerseys from NHL. So although addidas manufacturers it’s team jerseys with no name, fanatics puts the numbering and name on the jerseys - hence, the names and numbers are glued on vs stitched

The advantage of the fanatics is the sizes available. I always need the XLT because of my height. You can get a 5xl which is a true 5xl. I also like my fanatics since if you spill your beer you have no worries. I will always buy fanatics because I have had no one come and say you are wearing a knock off. No one but you will ever really know the difference. So do yourself a favor and save more money. I can get 3 jerseys for the price that you would pay for 2.

Glad you made a comparison between the Adidas jersey and the Fanatics jersey and I say the Adidas jerseys are way better than the Fanatics jerseys. The Adidas jerseys are way better looking and also love the shiny NHL crest logo almost look like what the players wear on the ice plus I have 3 Adidas jerseys of my hometown hockey teams in the Tri-State area of NY/NJ, Rangers home blue jersey, Islanders home royal blue jersey, and the Devils home red jersey and yes I live in the New York area.

I'm about to order a Adidas practice jersey, I'd normally take XL in the "Adidas Jersey" (which ever that is - its on the Fanatics size chart), so would that be 54 in "practice" and "authentic"? It just says 24.5" for chest so not sure if you double that up. Thanks in advance, you seem to know your stuff

MyMusic practice adidas jerseys should be the same on the sizing if it is built as a replica. If you’re buying a practice worn jersey it will certainly be bigger in the chest but depends what you’re getting

i work at the Caps store and we do in-house heat press. and what we will do sometimes is we will heat press blank jerseys, both Fanatics and Adidas, so that we have a bit more player options than what we get. so your Authentic probably was a blank and got heat pressed. but yea u got alot of the info here correct. the prices you listed are the prices with a player on them. Blank jerseys will run $180 Adidas and $130 Fanatics.

On adidas website all the sizing is there but for the Adidas it is size 46 for small I have fanatics and Adidas jerseys Adidas is 10 times better for quality

I think the fanatics and adidas Jersey are made by the same supplier. I could be wrong but that could explain why the adidas branded Vegas Jersey had heat pressed numbers

Yes but you need to be careful so you don’t burn the jersey. So make sure u have a towel or something between the iron and the jersey.

Would say this fanatics isn't bad if you're getting a vintage jersey blank but you can see the inconstancy especially with the stitching If you just want a retro jersey and can't find a quality jersey that doesn't look banged up get a fanatics But if you want a modern jersey you get Adidas the stitching and embroidering is different from fanatics Also don't like people knowing my size

Love the vid!! I have about 8 adidas jerseys and one fanatics. Adidas is way better but in terms of comfortability I would say fanatics is better, wearing a fanatics jersey is like wearing a big sweater. But overall adidas is generally better.

I agree. I have Adidas, Reebok, and Fanatics. The Fanatics is not only softer and warmer, but the logo and numbers are pretty light and flexible too whereas the Adidas and Reeboks have really stiff heavy crests that make sitting or bending a little less comfortable. Of course they are more "authentic" with those heavy duty crests. So there's pros and cons to both brands imo. I would only choose Fanatics if it was cheaper than what an Adidas jersey that's on sale/clearance would be though.

Sizing is tighter on the authentic due to the material, so I would suggest going on size up, IE - if you're a XL (size 54) in a tshirt, get a XXL in authentic, but the fanatics will be true to size.

I’m 5’6 and weigh 170lbs so I went with adidas size 44 because I don’t want a baggy jersey I want it to fit like most of my other clothes not he hanging off me lol and I seem to be all over the map with sizes for shirts, some companies I’m a small some a large but overall I tend to be a medium. I don’t have a big gut or anything like that hopefully I guessed correctly for the size!

It basically comes down to whether you're getting a blank or customized jersey and how much you're paying for it. Fanatics numbers and names on the customized jerseys are pretty bad. And paying close to $180 for a customized Fanatics jersey is just robbery. However, the Fanatics jersey fabric actually feels better than the Adidas. I'd prefer a blank Fanatics to a blank Adidas jersey. I'm not sure why people are so in love with getting an "authentic" Adidas. The quality of the Adidas "authentics" are probably the same or worse than the Reebok replicas.

Nah the Adidas jerseys run slim almost like an athletic fit whereas the fanatics one runs true to size I believe since it's more like a shirt you'd wear for comfort

The Fanatics ones suck. I have an Adidas Knights home jersey that is beautiful. I bought a white Fanatics one for the Finals and it’s just not the same. Ill be the getting the gold home championship jersey soon but it’ll def be an Adidas one. Ill spend the extra cash for one.

I just ordered my very first hockey jersey, even tho I’m 35 years old and been a hockey fan my whole life having grown up in Boston (thankfully lol) I fell in love with hockey since before even I can remember. However now with everything going on in sports and all the political crap being shoved in our faces, even though I used to support ALL my hometown teams especially the Bruins, Sox, and Pats I know ONLY SUPPORT the B’s and the NHL because they’re the only one sticking to sports and not disrespecting the same country I fought for. I am a fully disabled combat veteran and the only reason I mention all this is because I am hoping I made the right choice in saving up and getting the more expensive adidas jersey instead of the fanatics brand for my Brad Marchand jersey!! Unfortunately even though I ordered it last week according to the fanatics website I will not receive it until April 6 which is far as I’m concerned ridiculous but that is a whole different issue, this is a great video and makes me feel better about my choice so thank you!! GO B’s!!!!

If you buy from Cool Hockey, they give you a choice between hand and pre stitched. 'Pre-Stitched" means the numbers and logos are stitched together , then heat pressed on to the jersey. I buy all three variations because some jerseys are simply harder to find than others. For instance, if I want a Florida Panthers away jersey and the only one I can find is a Reebok, I'll buy it because I don't know if or when an Adidas or Fanatics variation will come along. One thing about buying a cheaper jersey, if the player in question gets traded, you won't have as much money invested in a Fanatics as you would an Adidas. Fanatics also offers protection if you buy a jersey and the player on the jersey is traded within a year of you purchasing the jersey. They will replace the jersey with a current player.

I think fanatics now handles all jerseys from NHL. So although addidas manufacturers it’s team jerseys with no name, fanatics puts the numbering and name on the jerseys - hence, the names and numbers are glued on vs stitched

The advantage of the fanatics is the sizes available. I always need the XLT because of my height. You can get a 5xl which is a true 5xl. I also like my fanatics since if you spill your beer you have no worries. I will always buy fanatics because I have had no one come and say you are wearing a knock off. No one but you will ever really know the difference. So do yourself a favor and save more money. I can get 3 jerseys for the price that you would pay for 2.

Glad you made a comparison between the Adidas jersey and the Fanatics jersey and I say the Adidas jerseys are way better than the Fanatics jerseys. The Adidas jerseys are way better looking and also love the shiny NHL crest logo almost look like what the players wear on the ice plus I have 3 Adidas jerseys of my hometown hockey teams in the Tri-State area of NY/NJ, Rangers home blue jersey, Islanders home royal blue jersey, and the Devils home red jersey and yes I live in the New York area.

I'm about to order a Adidas practice jersey, I'd normally take XL in the "Adidas Jersey" (which ever that is - its on the Fanatics size chart), so would that be 54 in "practice" and "authentic"? MyMusic practice adidas jerseys should be the same on the sizing if it is built as a replica. If you’re buying a practice worn jersey it will certainly be bigger in the chest but depends what you’re getting

i work at the Caps store and we do in-house heat press. and what we will do sometimes is we will heat press blank jerseys, both Fanatics and Adidas, so that we have a bit more player options than what we get. so your Authentic probably was a blank and got heat pressed. but yea u got alot of the info here correct. the prices you listed are the prices with a player on them. Blank jerseys will run $180 Adidas and $130 Fanatics.

On adidas website all the sizing is there but for the Adidas it is size 46 for small I have fanatics and Adidas jerseys Adidas is 10 times better for quality

I think the fanatics and adidas Jersey are made by the same supplier. I could be wrong but that could explain why the adidas branded Vegas Jersey had heat pressed numbers

Yes but you need to be careful so you don’t burn the jersey. So make sure u have a towel or something between the iron and the jersey.

On coolhockey or hockeyauthentic you can get the authentic adidas handstitched. Costs 25 bucks extra but definitely worth it.

Would say this fanatics isn't bad if you're getting a vintage jersey blank but you can see the inconstancy especially with the stitching If you just want a retro jersey and can't find a quality jersey that doesn't look banged up get a fanatics But if you want a modern jersey you get Adidas the stitching and embroidering is different from fanatics Also don't like people knowing my size

Love the vid!! I have about 8 adidas jerseys and one fanatics. Adidas is way better but in terms of comfortability I would say fanatics is better, wearing a fanatics jersey is like wearing a big sweater. But overall adidas is generally better.
I agree. I have Adidas, Reebok, and Fanatics. The Fanatics is not only softer and warmer, but the logo and numbers are pretty light and flexible too whereas the Adidas and Reeboks have really stiff heavy crests that make sitting or bending a little less comfortable. Of course they are more "authentic" with those heavy duty crests. So there's pros and cons to both brands imo. I would only choose Fanatics if it was cheaper than what an Adidas jersey that's on sale/clearance would be though.

Sizing is tighter on the authentic due to the material, so I would suggest going on size up, IE - if you're a XL (size 54) in a tshirt, get a XXL in authentic, but the fanatics will be true to size.

I’m 5’6 and weigh 170lbs so I went with adidas size 44 because I don’t want a baggy jersey I want it to fit like most of my other clothes not he hanging off me lol and I seem to be all over the map with sizes for shirts, some companies I’m a small some a large but overall I tend to be a medium. I don’t have a big gut or anything like that hopefully I guessed correctly for the size!
It basically comes down to whether you're getting a blank or customized jersey and how much you're paying for it. Fanatics numbers and names on the customized jerseys are pretty bad. And paying close to $180 for a customized Fanatics jersey is just robbery. However, the Fanatics jersey fabric actually feels better than the Adidas. I'd prefer a blank Fanatics to a blank Adidas jersey. I'm not sure why people are so in love with getting an "authentic" Adidas. The quality of the Adidas "authentics" are probably the same or worse than the Reebok replicas.

Nah the Adidas jerseys run slim almost like an athletic fit whereas the fanatics one runs true to size I believe since it's more like a shirt you'd wear for comfort
The Reebok premier jersey crest feels alot better than the Adidas by comparison the Adidas one feels flimsy like the fanatics one

The Fanatics ones suck. I have an Adidas Knights home jersey that is beautiful. I bought a white Fanatics one for the Finals and it’s just not the same. Ill be the getting the gold home championship jersey soon but it’ll def be an Adidas one. Ill spend the extra cash for one.

I just ordered my very first hockey jersey, even tho I’m 35 years old and been a hockey fan my whole life having grown up in Boston (thankfully lol) I fell in love with hockey since before even I can remember. However now with everything going on in sports and all the political crap being shoved in our faces, even though I used to support ALL my hometown teams especially the Bruins, Sox, and Pats I know ONLY SUPPORT the B’s and the NHL because they’re the only one sticking to sports and not disrespecting the same country I fought for. I am a fully disabled combat veteran and the only reason I mention all this is because I am hoping I made the right choice in saving up and getting the more expensive adidas jersey instead of the fanatics brand for my Brad Marchand jersey!! Unfortunately even though I ordered it last week according to the fanatics website I will not receive it until April 6 which is far as I’m concerned ridiculous but that is a whole different issue, this is a great video and makes me feel better about my choice so thank you!!
