  • As a result of his ability to chase after one of my teammates in high school, his personality made him the most humorous leader I have ever met. Despite the bizarre media frenzy moments you may have seen, when he came to our school, he considered each person around him his child. It's unbelievable to comprehend that he's passed away, and he had an irreplaceable spirit. He left an indelible imprint on the game of football. Quite simply, Mike, you have risen to the top with the leaders.

  • As a Kentucky fan born in the seventies, college football had never really been fun in my lifetime until Mike Leach came to Lexington with Hal Mumme. And even though we're now five coaches removed from their time in the Bluegrass, everything that exists now couldn't have happened without them energizing the fanbase and making us want more. Thanks, Coach Leach.

I used to love to listen to his weekly coaches interview over an AOL dial up connection. Greatest offensive mind who ever lived, and the best interview of all time. Rest in Peace coach. • I heard yesterday that he had a massive heart attack and may have also suffered seizures that caused brain damage, from those details I knew his chances of surviving were very very slim. It is heart breaking and sad to lose coach Leach he brought a lot to college football an I remember being excited hearing he was coming to the SEC I knew those press conferences would be comedy gold and we were all going to be in for a few extra laughs lol terrible tho it was short lived.
