Good my friend
Make even more available room by storing the pot lids upside down on the pots so the handles don't stick up.
Could you free up more space by swapping out the 2x4 and CA glue attaching a few 2mm magnets to the inside of the drawer and onto the divider so it’s held in place…? Just seems mad to store a lump of wood… unless it’s a pretend lump of wood that’s really a cash stash safe & then kudos my friend! 😜😂 Great builds mon frére! Bish bash bosh! 👍
always invert pan lids. its ezr
When storing the pot and lid together you can turn the lid upside down on the pot and get a couple of more inches of space. I know it's minimal but just a suggestion for those like me who have huge crawfish pots.
Just a tip for pots and pan lids: Sometimes you can invert them on the pot/pan, and keep the right lid with the right pot. And in some cases, store smaller pots or pans on the lid.
I love the rails that hang on the underside of the counter where you put the lids over the handle of each pot and slide the whole thing in and out. Awesome!
that is what I do. then they can sit on top of each other.
I never thought about storing about pan on top. That’s brilliant. I just invert the lids to store them in a shallower spot.
This is exactly how I use to store my cookware until a couple of weeks ago... I just got a new one and sadly the lids don't fit comfortably on the pots when inverted.
You can also put two pans inside each other (one smaller than the other) than put the lid of the biggest pan upside down on top of it, and the lid of the smaller one normally on top of the upside down bigger lid. Most space efficient!
Instead of the 2x4 at the back of the drawer, you could extend the sides of your organizer and have that be the stop. Then you have 1 extra area for a larger item like a long lighter!
Ooh that's a good idea!
Was thinking the same thing
Good idea! He just lost space he was trying to maximize for a 2x4- confused me bc it seems counterproductive
Hollow out the 2x4 and it’s a secret compartment that everyone else thinks is wasted space
@@glynnL heck yea! Like a false lid on it!
The "before" on the junk drawer was organized enough to be many people's "after"! But this "after" was amazing and the "I don't have any unused space in my drawers - you know what I mean" comment was worth watching the whole video to the end! Classic!
so true LOL
Come for the projects, stay for the great Dad jokes.
One of the best perks of being a dad!
@@Fixthisbuildthat I'd say "me-nails" took the gold this time. Personally, I like to sing that song by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys as "🎵these street will make you feel Breeeeno..."
Dude! Crrrrrushed it with that final joke! Ahahahha.
@@Fixthisbuildthat I think they meant "Brad jokes"
@@kscheuerman5378 I'm guessing the K in your name stands for Karen. 🙄
My question is this: When your husband does this kind of work for a living, how do you get him to do it at home??
Just finished making your upper cabinets and plan on doing the lowers for my garage shop and am thrilled with the first tip. It will be perfect for the slide out drawer in your miter saw plan, too!
I really like these projects. The last one could be taken up a notch by making the top try base out of clear plexi instead of 1/4 ply. That way you can see everything on the bottom with moving the top tray
When you climbed into the cabinet, I could so relate. Upvote totally earned.
1st project: Love the additional shelves. When I get my tiny house built, I'm going to ask for extra shelf leaves. 2nd project: Ingenious to have a pull out tray and added shelves on the tray. The lid holder on the door is awesome. I have my lids all jumbled together and your idea is much better.
Why I like a kitchen with mostly drawers instead of doors...much more useful and easy to get to things. But you came up with creative ideas to fix existing issues. Drawers cost more upfront but totally worth it in long run
Oh my goodness I love these projects! That pull out shelf add-on is GENIUS! My husband and I are about to purchase our first home and I’m totally going save these ideas! I currently use command hooks to hold my pot lids because I’m in a rental but I absolutely love the wooden holder (also don’t have to worry about the plastic hooks breaking after some time). Great video! New subscriber!
I'm so impressed with this project and the others of yours for which I have watched the video. You are skilled at what you do and quite creative at solving storage issues that most of us seem to suffer from. Thank you!
OMG I love your sense of humor! Helps me remember to lighten up while working on my own projects. I plan to add all 3 of these to my kitchen. Thank you!
Love how you show every little detail. Unlike others that just verbally say them. Thank you so much.
Thank you! As an inexperienced DIY homeowner, I actually think I could tackle some of these. Well done, sir. Look forward to learning more!
I’ve found metal files to be the best way to trim off excess edge banding. Thanks for the great video! I have been putting off kitchen projects like this, so it’s invigorating to see it done so simply.
I love the pot organizer idea
Novel 2 x 4 storage. All back of the drawer like. Love it.
Man I love the way you organized the drawers!! It has ALWAYS been one of my personal, biggest complaints about drawers with wasted space and disorganization. Drives me nuts when you open a drawer and it looks like a tornado went through it. I just wish I had all the tools you had to do it all. Great videos!!!
Awesome! Now those are actually fairly easy to do, simple and useful for basically every kitchen out there. I appreciate it!
I built something similar for our kitchen lower cabinet with pull out drawer base, but instead of building a shelf to put on top of the bottom one I built a second pull out drawer at the half way mark so that I could put another full depth drawer platform for other pots
thats another great option. Wanted to keep this super simple without needs to install more slides, but that's probably the better solution
Love that you have fun and show us your mess ups!
Nice! will start to makeover my kitchen now
I love your kitchen organizing builds. I’d like to see what can be done with the cavernous corner under cabinets!
we have a lazy susan and it's great.
Unless your kitchen is really old, it may likely have a lazy susan or swing out shelves to make use of that space and is often referred to as a blind corner cabinet and is specifically designed for just such a space. Corner upper cabinets are similar in concept.
Wooow, thank you for this video. You are a great builder in organizing kitchen storage. I do love the slide over storage for pots and pans.
I appreciate your energy and that you have a definite script! Great projects!
Great ideas needed for any home for space, convenience, safety and priority for the home owner
that was one absolutely AWESOME video. I often wondered how you got the top layer to slide back and forth in the drawer. now I know. I have 2 very deep drawers that can be utilised better, and I know just how to do it, thanks to you.
I love your videos! Besides giving me valuable information, you crack me up!!!!
Great ideas. Thanks! Turn the lids over on the pots (handle down) and you can lower the upper shelf. Cheers.
The second project (extra shelves on roll out drawers) seem so perfect, it's one of those why didn't I think of that.
Completely enjoyable video as always! Love the jokes, movie clips and most of all the build! I will be here for every video you put out. Thank you so much ❤️
Love the pot lid holder! And switching all my lowers to pullouts and drawers
These are projects that are going to be a must, all of them are great ideas.
A hack I stumbled upon myself, those undershelf shelf things. I think I got mine at the container store. It’s a wire rack shelf, has legs that slide over the shelf above. It’s PERFECT for holding water bottle and lids. The depth just happens to be about the same as my cabinet. Holds all the water bottles, laying down, and room for the lids on one size. One of my more brilliant organization moves!
How about a solution for those under-counter corner cabinets where pots and pans go into the in-between spaces? I have 2 corner cabinets that go back as deep as the adjacent cabinet so basically enough space for an adult to hide in. The are commercial solutions that cost $$$$ but my budget isn't $$$$ BTW Excellent tips and projects Brad! Glad to see the lid door is still holding up. I knew it would 😁
@JJ_Crank YES PLEASE
Use that space to hide when your siblings bring over their bratty offspring, OR, it's perfect for storing seldom used items such as holiday dishware, that 5 gallon chili pot, or all those Mason jars you got that year when you thought you would start canning all your own vegetables.
we have a lazy susan and it's fantastic.
I have used the edge banding and it makes the job look professional. Kreg sells a nice shelf pin hole jig. I made extra shelves on a bureau. Next I will be making those pot cover holders. Nice idea using the tape to adjust the drawer sections. Great video thanks. I will be watching more of your videos I like our ideas.
I love this guy!!!, He's a natural!
Loved all these projects. Going to try to make a pull out drawer soon…..just building up the courage.
"nothing bundt storage" 👌
Fun and educational!
Project 2: tip the pot lid upside down so the handle is within the pot itself. Shelf only needs to be pot height + lid rim high. Also, if you're good at Tetris, you can stack pots on each other to make a pot tower. Just don't bump it🤪
This is how I store mine. Plus the correct lid is always with the corresponding pot.
Wow, at first I thought that last project was going to be a little "extra", but it turned out great and really spruced up the look and functionality of that drawer!
Love all your video's but especially the organization projects! These were excellent!!!
I love watching you. Great ideas with a great attitude! Thanks!!!
Great Ideas Mr. Fix This....Help Us with more in the future. Thank You!
I've got to say, this video really hits that sweet spot of high quality production and practical, thorough advice while retaining some real personality (I detest channels that make me feel like I'm watching daytime TV) New subscriber here!
Wow, yet another exceptionally awesome set of design and build of organizational projects! I especially like the large cabinet slide out box addition! Well done, Brad!
Really fantastic tips, Brad! Thanks!!! 😃 The projects turned out great! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Made the pull out drawer for my wife..thank you for the inspiration
Well done video - good flow, good camera focus, and a little humor - and no loud annoying music.
The pull out lower cabinet is something my house needs. For drawers I am using a 3d printer and the gridfinity system.
Love your videos! Great ideas every time! Thanks for sharing
To prevent tear-out of the wood when cutting, you can run a strip of masking tape along the cut line
These are awesome ideas. Thank you. As always, your videos are entertaining as well as informative!!
As an interior designer and have designed kitchens kudos. I love these ideas
thank you!
Absolutely love your work, wish I had those tools and space xxx
Excellent my friend! Thank you for sharing!
I loved your video. I have been learning doing small projects and I want that pull out lower cabinet drawer!
for the drawer, you can "convert" the 2by4 to be a hiden storage space, you can hide some small items if you make holes in the bottom or the sides of the 2x4
Cool projects, very useful and easy enough to build - great job and instruction!
Love love the drawer storage
Gonna do these this winter. Thanks
I really need this straight edge!!!
Awesome! I learn alot. Thanks for sharing❤️
Thanks!! Great projects
You’re awesome! I can’t wait to get into my own home to try a lot of your ideas Out! Thank you!
Perfect advice for those who have a fully equipped workshop already!
Loving your new styled content. Great stuff!
Absolutely love this thank you! 😊
This is the best I've seen in a while. Now I know how to improve my kitchen! Thanks!
This would be great for me so that I can still pull out the entire unit and access the plumbing in my camper. Saved for next project. Thanks.
Wow! You have a REALLY CLEAN shop! Impressive!!
Just bought a house, and I'm making some small storage tweaks as we go. I've mainly been buying storage and drawers from IKEA, Walmart, Amazon, etc. This has given me new motivation to do these projects myself. I've been a little overwhelmed by the time and energy required. While I know these projects will take time - you made this look easy and fun! Looking forward to taking back our kitchen space. It is relatively small - but these hacks will really open it up. Thanks so much for sharing. Pro safety tip - you probably should wear a mask instead of inhaling all of that dust, lol.
Thanks for the inspiration for my next wood laser project!
Good stuff! Thank you, Sir!
Honestly, when I have a bad day, I just watch one of your videos, and my smile is coming back. You are soooo funny! (to be more honest, I'm also a woodworker and I adore your videos. Very well explained!)
You're the first person to see it my way about the inefficient wasted space in cupboards!! This was a relief, and a good design too :o
Excelent ideias and also excelent work. Thanks for sharing. 🇧🇷
Hey, I just wanted to say I love your videos. Especially the ones where you make mistakes. I don’t have the fancy tools you have so I make plenty of mistakes. It’s reassuring to see that even professionals make mistakes. Just have to learn from it and move on.
We all make mistakes, that's how we learn and get better!
This is brilliant!🎉🎉 I really want to build something now. You wouldn’t think so, but I totally geek over power tools and building with the wood makes my heart sing Thank you for sharing your wisdom
did you see the account that is trying to be you? thanks for removing the comment
Love your humor! Love these ideas!
صباح الخير اسلوبك جميل ودمك خفيف والافكار رائعة
This is your best video so far. So many great tricks and the editing is funny and entertaining!
Dude, the lower cabinet insert, brilliant
Looks good. I did all the drawer stuff with a 3D printer.
The drawer is amazing 👏
Omg we just discovered you guys..... you are hilarious and these videos are really helpful. Do you have any videos of you doing your kitchen?
Very nice, especially the drawer organizer.
Love your thoughts out loud, so funny and true. Great video
Found it! LOL I've gotta hand it to ya. A man who, not only makes his own storage solutions, but would also crawl into a base cabinet to make his point deserves a 'subscribe'.
❤✨… happy I found your channel, you really enjoy making stuff!
That second project is awesome, and it seems like you could have made the shelves even deeper.
I think i fell in love!! come fix my small space delimas please!!
1st project: Looks great as long as your shelves are not too deep or you will have problems getting the items at the back out. We have a cupboard that is the same depth as our fridge and getting the items from the back is already hard enough. For shallow cupboards it looks great. 3rd project: Love this and have already done it for my cutlery draw. For my bottom layer I did four sections that go all the way from the front to the back of the drawer so no gap at the back to fill in. I need to do another set for my second drawer down and maybe a lift out one for the bigger 3rd drawer with all the rolls of tinfoil and cling wrap. 2nd project: I just can't decide what I think of this. Every time you moved it I was worried about the items sliding off the shelves. Probably a me issue. I do like how you rounded the corners, such a small detail can make such a big difference to the end appearance.
Magnificent workshop!!!
Always up for some edge banding 😊, but I suggest putting the extra shelves lower. Put the lowest shelf 5-8” up - it’s eye level for many, and means short folks can use 2 shelves without ladders or pulldowns. Use the low shelf for short things like mugs, snacks, your bins, or plates. Allow more height for the next shelf up (put the stacked spice rack there - and add a lazy susan for oils & sauces). Then the top shelves that the short folks can’t reach are for low frequency items (like that bundt pan)
Omg! Your sense of humor and innuendo is AWESOME! Subscribe!
Nice. I love projects that improve things like cabinet utilization. 😇
