And since that one other player is a "role player," they don't even mention him. ridiculous. LA didn't even have a timeout left to get a good look. And they don't have the size to rebound with Gordon and Porter Jr. Role players won Denver the series, Gordon and Porter Jr. the star plays were a wash and I guess their stars closed better but the last few minutes of the game are determined by other points in the game.

    • @benjaminsmith2287 because it was a 2 for 1 opportunity and bron ran the clock down and took it, securing Denver would have the last shot of the game for OT or game winner. You take the 2 for 1 in that scenario. Also the reason LAL lost 4-1 is because lebron didn't show effort on the boards the entire series. I watched every second. He gave up 10+ rebounds to Aaron Gordon on effort alone.

  • The Lakers team chemistry just isn't good enough when Lebron is on the court. We have seen some games in the regular season (when Lebron sat out) where they looked a better as an overall team with more chemistry and some of those players (out from under the long shadow that Lebron casts) proved that they can be those players that Lebron needs to get points. Unfortunately, Lebron just doesn't have time on his side to build that kind of trust in those players around him (in the same way that Jokic does with his Nuggets teammates) and that is why I don't see a Lebron led Lakers team winning a title under non bubble conditions (which was the perfect storm for them specifically). You always felt that the Nuggets had several other gears they could switch up to if/when it was needed (generally in the 2nd half) whereas the Lakers you felt were putting pretty much everything into the first half (they led after the 1st half in every single game of the series) but just couldn't sustain it in the 2nd half (they never outscored the Nuggets in the 2nd half of any game in the series, even the game they won).

AD was guarding the best players in the world in Jokic while collecting the most Lakers rebound and scoring the most and efficient points. All that while protecting the rim. The only reason AD didn't get more points is Lebron was not giving the ball to AD in the post in the 4th quarter. AD has been needing help since 2020 when he guarded Butler in the finals

  • The excuses for LeBron. He needed a better roster. AD didn't give enough in the 4th quarter. Blah blah blah. Simply put, the only reason the games were close is because AD was so dominant for most of the series. By the 4th quarter, he's gassed. He's expected to lockdown the best player in the NBA. Be the #1 scoring option. Control the paint in general. And not get tired by the time the 4th quarter begins. And then they want to blame him for losing the series? AD should request a trade, and when the Lakers win 30 games next season, they'll realize AD was their best and most important player.

  • Joy no one is asking lebron to do anything g or close .. Lebron does it all on his own . You think he’s running Darvins sets ? Nope

  • Laker fan here! Time for Bron to retire or move on from the Lakers. Its time for the Lakers to look to the future. Trade AD as well and hopefully get a pick.

  • AD needs to be a number 3. We need his Defensive more than anything

  • I am a Nuggets fan, but the Lakers weren't healthy, Reddish, Wood, Vanderbilt were all out. I am not sure they make a difference but it certainly wouldn't have hurt having them available.

  • From 0 last year, then 1 this year? That's improvement! 😂

  • Denver has a young core, and is going to be better next year. The only starter at-risk of leaving in free agency is KCP, and I think the Nuggets will lock him up for a couple of years. Next year and after, they can use Bird exemptions to maintain this lineup.

  • What more can you ask from him? You know the Lakers are at its best when Lebron takes a step back, give more chances to the role players and tries on defense. At the end of every loss of that series, you see Lebron trying to catch up on his stats. The rest of the team goes cold and off rhythm. And when Lebron is catching up on his stats, he's not playing any defense. Lebron should accept he's no longer the best player in the team.

  • AD can't be aggressive when Bron not passing him the ball. Bron brings the ball up, not AD.

  • Austin Reeves is not a starter. His defense is horrible. His defense will never get better. His foot speed is too slow. What about the players that were injured. The Lakers could’ve used those players to at least get a rest break.

  • What went wrong? the role-players couldn't play their roles De-Lo can't come through when he needs to 2-10 from 3-point land. Reeve couldn't come through The coach putting Gabe Vincent in when he hadn't played all year while Max Christie was sitting.
