What Fallout Looks Like Without Special Effects

"Fallout" has a massive, sprawling world packed with unique characters. The visual effects team put a lot of love into bringing that vision to the screen - and without CGI, it can be kind of goofy.

  • The moral of the story is don't go cheap on props and let the special effects compliment them. The result is one of the best looking adaptations

  • Fallout has turned out to be one of the best video game to TV series adaptations of all time. Bravo to the cast and crew. As a Fallout game myself who's very first PlayStation Trophy was "Power of the Atom" in Fallout 3 on PS3 in 2010, I salute the entire team. Fallout fans greatly appreciate it!

    • Same, this show really took me by surprise! I wasn't expecting it to flop as hard as Halo, but I didn't expect to enjoy it more than I liked The Last of Us. I unfortunately haven't played TLoU but I saw how close the show was to the game and saw all the praise for it, I didn't expect to like Fallout as much because I'd played that one since 3, but they did an incredible job matching the vibes that got me to like Fallout in the first place and I am incredibly hyped to see New Vegas. I hope more adaptations take note on the ones that hit and why the misses miss so hard. I'm crossing my fingers now hoping that we'll get a Destiny adaptation some day that hits as hard as Fallout🤞There's so much genre variety potential in Destiny! I'd be happy just seeing grimoire cards adapted in hour long increments. Imagine getting one episode covering Thorn and The Last Word with an old western movie vibe, then getting another covering the Book of Sorrow that dips more into grimdark eldritch horror, then pay a nod to the silliness of Destiny and its community while also going over some in-game events with The Ghost Community Theater and all its papier-mâché glory. (Also, and I don't want to come off rude pointing this out, I think you meant "gamer" instead of "game"? 😅typos suck lol but hey sometimes you get gems like "scared shortless" 🤣)

You could download an app that connected with the game and operate your pip boy remotely. It would be great if they mass marketed them again but it would probably make the people who spent extra pretty upset if it became available to everyone.

I mean the people of Shady Sands seemed to have an idyllic life but how were they never attacked by raiders or even those monsters? Hank knew stuff like that was out on the surface so his keeping everyone down in the vault actually wasn't that bad an idea. They didn't seem to have a weird experiment going on in 33 at least. Shady Sands didn't even have walls. And why wouldn't the Brotherhood of Steel come around and just strip them of their tech? Those guys were around when Shady Sands was bombed so it was a possibility.

How does V-T manufacture their products? Where do they get their raw materials from? But look at the executives they had working for them? Bud? He was dumb enough to have his brain cut out and put into a rumba that could get stuck behind a broomstick that falls in his way but not smart enough to call Betty or wake up one of his many frozen trainees to free himself.

What's a couple thousand dollars when you're spending millions? And if that location can save you a couple of seconds of CGI, you save more money with that then you spend on travel.
