How To Restore Rusty Knife - Restoration Video Tutorial
Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project and little restoration video tutorial too. Two months ago, I collected a lot of similar comments and asked you about this project. 82% voted for me to do this project (for more info please check my community tab) Well, the restoration project is done. I used rusty dirty knife, bought it at flea market.
Restoration process:
To remove the rust I used rust remover liquid. Then washed it and wipe via oil.
Cleaned and edited spot for handle and knife nose too.
I hardened the knife in oil.
The handle for knife I made from ash tree. Also, for handle I used two components paint and linseed oil.
For scabbard (I made it first time) I used also ash tree and finally used a hot linseed oil and two components paint.
And as usual made knife test especially for you.
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!

Restoration is returning something to its original state. That wasn't a restoration, that was a great recycling and redesign of something old into something different and new. A great new knife. And the sheathe is fantastic. Beautifully done!
Here for the restoration, glad I stayed for the dance moves at the end!!
Each new video is better than the last one. And your English is excellent. Bravo.
Thank you so much!
I have noticed your English has improved a great deal, narrate your videos, that will improve your English even more, GREAT job on the Knife!!!. Thank you for sharing!!.
Thanks ^_^
I like that no matter the size or shape of a knife, you'll always make a sheath for it. 😁
ahah))) by the way, this knife still works in my workshop
Great work my friend! The scabbard look beautiful! 👍
Good job Minutely done small things. You will succeed always.
Looked like the original knife was homemade from a file. That sheath was awesome!
Thank you sir!
I thought I was the only person who noticed the file teath
@@stardusk1726 - yeah, they were pretty evident to me on the video.
Always after using any kind of acid you should always dip or submerge the part you’re removing the rest from in baking soda and hot water that will neutralize the acid reaction
Brilliant work as always, a pleasure to watch 😊
The quality of this restoration is exceptional.
Wow! Your talent blows me away. That knife with its amazing handle and wooden cover is absolutely Incredible.
Your a funny fella. You did a great job with this knife
Very nice knife restoration. My Sicilian heritage would have preferred the drop point style had been kept , but that's only genetics . 2 edges go in easier than one 😁 . Stay healthy and safe .
Great job my friend. Keep up the good work and stay safe.

Very nice work. I have made and videoed me making many bushcraft knives out of Old Hickory butcher knives. Though I do not have the patience required to make a sheath like that. Nice.
Nice work my friend, keep it up.

Spasibo!

Very nice
Very cool! Thanks ❤️
Thank you!

Super!
That's smart it almost falls out of his hand. Him : Oh I think I'll just grab blad with my bare hand!
I noticed the oven had Turkish writing on it. Are you in Turkey?
Best dance ever 😝
Nice job. Try gluing magnets inside the wood to help hold the blade.
Spasibo!!
@@ScrewsAndTools ahh ok ok, gracias x responder!!!
Cool always 😎
Love your content keep it up 👍 Ps where you from? 😊
Türkler kendini belli etsin! +1
Wait, so you use Hair dye paint for wood? Ok, thats awesome... never thought about it. 🤔👌🏻👨🏻🔧😅
Yes, it's was hair dye.
👍👍🇪🇸buen video

Fırının güzelmiş 😁
excellent restoration knife, 15:14 dirty dancing hehe.
You always do such nice work. Is there anything you can't make a knife out of? I wish I was closer, I would have you make me a knife. Thanks for all the great videos. Stay well friend.
Thank you so much! Good luck and stay safe.s
Great video. I love the wooden sheath. Maybe, find other ways of colouring the wood - not always the two-component paint.
How much of this knife?
Y u use earthing color tape for covering blade??
Yes sir, that the blade does not get scratched or damaged in time to work.
@@ScrewsAndTools love ur hardwork keep it up👍🏼
I loved it brother!! Only 2 things stop buring yourself. Also do not sharpen the blade until knife is completed
Thanks sir! I will try) Sometimes I can't stop)
@@ScrewsAndTools you are doing fantastic. But having the blade sharp when there is still alot of handling of the knife could result in a very bad cut.
Great work my friend, my question is from where do you get these items?😂🤔 P. S. Nice dancing in the end 👌😂😂😂
Hello sir, 90% of stuff I bought at flea market. (2-3 month ago)
Подробнее, вот ссылочка на моё видео kzhead.info/sun/ZsakgrGNb2SHgok/bejne.html
It is a medieval peasant knife.
Fırın TÜRK Malı 😊😊👍
4:43 bless you
:D
Ah! The two component paint as you call it, it's just hair dye! I always wondered....
Hello, yes, that's right. This is a regular hair dye.
Spasibo za vnimanie. Seichas glavnoe bi stol smenit i dokupit iashik bi.
What is two component paint? What chemicals?
Hair dye. He says it
Hair dye
You forgot to make the handle smaller. You mentioned it.

Hey at the beginning of your video u should say "hello n welcome back to BIG BEARDS RESTORE STUFF!!!" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
=)))
Da, Kraska dlia volos.
destroyed!!!!
Did you just say your famous two components paint is actually.. for hair?
Yes sir, exactly. Thank you for attention.
@@ScrewsAndTools that's awesome! Thank you for all those great videos !
Dude I love your work and the methods you use but in my opinion you destroyed this knife when you cut an inch off the end of the blade. That’s not a restoration, it’s a modification. Restoring something is bringing it back to its ORIGINAL state not hacking it up to how you want it to look. With that said I do love your work though. You’re one of the few that really takes pride in what they do. And the 2 components paint you use is more of a stain than a paint.
Thanks for attetion, sir. Two components paint it's hair dye.
