  • Fair play to admit with hindsight on his side that he wished the sky takeover had gone through. Roger Taylor from Queen also put capital in to fight sky as his son supported United.

  • Loved this. We always speculate over this stuff but it's good to hear from someone who was around & involved at the time. Equally him reeling off history was good.If we don't get old chaps like this on the podcast the history kinda just fades away into the past.

  • I was one of those 28,000. Shareholders United / MUST felt more like a union, but one that didn’t listen to its members. There were 19 that I knew personally (and still speak to) and we weren’t listened to at all in 98. Did we know what Sky would do with us? No. Did we think it would lead to another bid from someone worse? Yes. We were right. I still blame them for the glazers. We still want a proper audit of what their letters full of leading questions actually said, because it probably wasn’t what they went to the government with. Interesting to hear he was concurrently writing a book about Murdoch, so there was obviously no conflict of interest… pr*ck. Him and Walsh.

  • No offence but a lot of people only agree and talk positively about things once they've heard it from someone else like this. • We can blame the Glazers, but the first event in our downward spiral was the appointment of David Moyes, who SAF recommend. We need roy keane in the backroom staff at the club to ruffle some feathers and give all the players a reality check and what it takes and truly means to play for manchester united. Instead we have the dinosaur whalley with a brolly Steve Maclaren 🤦

      @suse8270@suse8270Ай бұрын
    • @@suse8270 The stadium is just an excuse to criticize the Glazers with. For me the lack of atmosphere is more worrying. Our aging stadium wasn't a problem when we beat Liverpool a few weeks back, because it was rocking with boisterous passionate fans. Teams like Napoli, inter, ac milan play in even sitting stadiums. We have too many incompetent all round wrong people at the club. From boardroom and coaching level to the players themselves. We have had 10 years plus to rectify things but keep making the wrong decisions. We should never have sacked Jose and even considering bringing in southgate is a disgrace.
