A 6 month revisit to the Z Fold 5, except this time I will be talking about all the things I dislike about this phone and any problems I have with it. This is my favorite phone I have owned so far, but it's far from perfect!
I feel the need to pin this comment since some people are taking this video the wrong way as if I dislike this phone or hate it. I LOVE this phone, I don't have any major problems with it whatsoever. This video is more trying to show the daily inconveniences or some potential cons I have that comes with owning the fold 5 that some people might not expect. No phone is perfect and I'm just trying to tell you some of the drawbacks. I have changed my video title to hopefully be more clear about that! That said, go buy the Fold 5! 🥰
Thanks for your deep review and your feed back . Very professional. Please continue even for any small details , its very helpful
These are minor issues with daily use that you don't even recognize. I have been using it for the last 7 months and really love this phone. I advise people to go for the Fold series; it's a totally different experience than a normal phone.
I agree 100%
I don't feel the same way. I love my Fold 5.
Hi like your honest feed back, agree with you on the front screen been looking at getting one and it’s great to be able to use it one handed with ease something you just don’t get with large candy bars, but then have the option of a large type pad on the inside, agrree there are a few trade offs but there are also trade offs with a large candy bar phone, I think you are more productive with a foldable for work but more comfortable with a candy bar for social use, would be good if you can follow up with a short video on the scrolling issue, also has anyone who’s using a z5 had any screen fails or warranty issues would rarely like to give one ago so researching like crazy appreciate all feedback ❤
Thanks for watching! I actually made a recent video talking about the scrolling issue, it's still happening unfortunately with no real fix. I showed a little workaround which gets rid of the issue
Do you have any anxiety about screen crack forming at the crease on the inner display, which would in turn impact trade-in value for future upgrade w/ Samsung?
Nope! I purchased samsung care insurance so if it breaks I can get a replacement. It's still feeling really solid day to day so I think it should last for quite some time
Hey, nice breakdown. I got this phone about a month ago. Im sure all the software bugs have been fixed. I do have large hands and typing is easier on the extended screen. I think this phone is a matter of preference. Did you buy the phone for entertainment? Versatility? Or to display photos? It depends on what you intend to use the device for. As a daily use, im happy with it 👍
My Google messages is still messed up unfortunately, hoping for an update maybe. I use the phone for everything, best phone I ever used! I just made this video to give any potential drawbacks to owning a folding phone since there will be unique ones compared to a traditional slab phone. But the pros of a folding phone far outweighs all the cons for me 🙃
In regards to holding the phone, I would just get one of those self adhesive phone rings. Has anyone tried to watch Netflix on this thing and if so, does the fold bother you? Aslo can you put a privacy screen protector on this?
That's a good idea, I never had one before but I might pick one up. I dont have netflix but it's just like watching any other video/movie on the Fold, and it doesn't bother me. It looks like there's actually some privacy screen protectors on Amazon but ratings aren't the greatest. If anything I would only recommend you get one on the outside screen and maybe not the inside since there's already a factory screen protector
A clear adhesive attached case is definitely not the way to go, when i use a clear case i have to tale it off every couple days to clean it. After a couple months it would look terrible. And taking it on and off would ruin the adhesive
Not sure if you already had this resolved but, the google messages glitch was resolved on my end by no longer using the multiview display setting. So now when I text it's basically an expanded version of the front screen as opposed to the multiview where the other messages can still be seen on the left side. Definitely a software issue.
Yes! I actually made a video on this after discovering it haha. I like this view more anyway so it works great for me
How is the screen protector inside and does screen protector when peeled off after a year or so... Does that damage the inner screen?
Mine is still fine like the day I bought it, no peeling or anything and no heavy scratches. I would not peel it off, and if mine did come off I would probably try to get a replacement on there quick
this is what i'm looking for a review.
Great Amazing I loving Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5❤
Do you think it's a good idea to buy the fold 5 now or wait for the 6? I'm thinking of getting an open box at best but for around$1240.00
Mm that's hard for me to say. I don't think we have any official announcement on it yet, but if it's anything like the Fold 5 then possibly in the summer. I've been hearing some interesting rumors about the Fold 6 and the changes they might make. I'll say if there's any deal breakers you might have with the Fold 5 (like the small screen) then maybe wait and see what kind of improvements they might make with the 6. But if you need/want the phone now and you would be perfectly fine with the Fold 5 then you could always make the purchase. Samsung usually offers pretty good trade in value I think
I'm not really in a rush nor I need the phone as I want it as a second phone. My Maine phone is an iphone 15 pro max.
I’d recommend waiting for the Fold 6 as the camera will be getting a huge upgrade as well as an upgrade to the gorilla glass so it has a way less reflective surface on the displays
I agree with the comments about the camera Should have been better I updated from the Fold 2 for the camera and was disappointed
Let's see what the Fold 6 will bring! 🙏
3:16 i recognized the same problem. The One UI software is really bad.
I have this phone but I don't agree on everything, here's what I do agree with: I agree that the camera should have been better and that the pictures are hard to show to other people. I do make more mistakes while typing on this phone than any other phone I've used in the past. I have no issue with my case, I use a knock off chinese one and it has practically no visible dust. It also doesn't stick to the phone and is easy to remove. I have had no bugs with the phone.
You are lucky! I wish the scrolling bug wasn't a thing on mine
Note. When i was trying to remove back cover , i pressed with my nails on the rubber surrounding inner screen. So the black rubber kind of little deformed.. 😢 .. exposed the edge of inner glass. So just giving my experience. Didn't realize its a rubber filler not metal.
Yeah when I first got the phone and was cleaning where the fold is I noticed it was rubber too. Was always worried that part might be fragile
Its like i aways say no matter how much hype a phone gets people always end up saying after 4 or 6 months i have changed my mind on how much i like my phone and dont . as for folding phones are the same where the hinge ends uo preventing the screen from opening fully flat and even with a case my phone has done the same thing where the phone doesnt open fully
That's normal though and happens for any purchase like even for a new car. As you live with it, you have new experiences and opinions after the excitement wears off for a new purchase, which is why I made this video! Even with these inconveniences, I still love this phone and don't plan on going back to a normal slab phone.
Thanks for all these infos. I'm wondering what happens when you have a incoming call in tablet mode? What are the options? Can I fold the phone and then, take the call? I still have a Note 20 but I'm looking to maybe change for the next Z Fold 6 (ultra) if the rumors are true.
I just tried, there is no difference when taking a call folded or unfolded. I can still hold it up to my ear and talk, I can also fold the phone mid call and still be in call
My google msg app looks like it is "shaking" when I text with the phone opened! Super annoying!
I made a separate video on that, you can disable the list detail view mode and it seems to fix it
@@thekaydubz drop the link!!! I'll go check it out!
I don't like the output of this camera. Feels over sharpened.
Yeah I am one that actually care about the dust review
I don’t have the app issue
You are lucky, messages for me is super annoying right now!
I've had mine since release and never had the app issue either, didn't know it was a thing
Also Android auto this phone doesn't connect to my car
My car doesn't have android auto, still connecting through basic Bluetooth 😆 2002 IS300
Sounds like you need an repair!
Same cameras as the s23 phones. Not bad cameras at all but when you compare them to a dslr or mirrorless then even the ultra is gonna look bad
Not sure about the regular s23 but I know the s23 ultra camera is better than what they put on the fold 5. Still good cameras overall
Is it durable ?
Feels very durable to me! I have no worries about it breaking whe handling it day to day
Just don't drop it. Friend's fold accidentally fell. Screen dead pixels in the middle .
Feels very durable and I was really worried initially 😅
Use matte screen protectors on both screens you will thank me later.
Use samsung messages
I used to only use samsung messages, but without RCS support sending/receiving pictures from people was a blurry mess
look the water sensor....samsung in is best...lol
