  • Pep rallies are fun when you’re going against different grades. I remember the spirit stick one where whoever has the most spirit gets it. My very first pep rally in high-school was when I was in my junior year. As juniors, my class was the most fun and we went all out for the stick, but mainly just had fun that day. I remember when we were seniors it was a competition between us and the sophomores. We obviously won when it was our turn to do the chant and shout, but some of the faculty were thinking about giving it to the sophomores seeing as we won it last year, but come on if they really wanted it they had to earn it. In the end, it was given to us and I was glad because for (one)we were seniors of course we were the most hyped. (Two) We were gonna be the first graduating class of that high school we wanted to leave an impression and (three) we were honestly the most brought together class of that school and supported each other the most. I love my class and miss the memories I made with them.

      @sireislas3903@sireislas39034 жыл бұрын
    • Fr, even the ones offering genuine critique are missing the point I think. High schoolers aren't playing stuff like this with the intention to get better at it. They aren't grinding reps of jig 2 to eliminate all rim clicks and tempo fluctuation. They're just playing it to get hype at a pep rally, and that's good enough for most of them and their audience. The students who are personally more motivated to get better practice more individually, but insisting that level of dedication from the whole line just wouldn't work.

      @sireislas3903@sireislas39034 жыл бұрын
    • @@sireislas3903 fuck if I don't wish that were true. As an individual, I hate that my line can't seem to clean the simplest of things. The truth that I've had to come to accept, however, is that most high schoolers are apathetic, especially when it comes to band, an optional extracurricular. That, however, shouldn't prevent them from having fun on a drumline in high school.

    • The original is from oak mountain high school, which is quite far from Georgia,and is a fairly new cadence. Quit lying on the internet for clout.

      @jameswalker210@jameswalker2104 жыл бұрын
    • Jimbo Boi I got no reason to lie. I sho don’t need clout. No. It did not originally come from oak mountain. I was Captian over my line back in 97’98’99’ and I’ve played both quads and snare. I literally made that cadence up in the shower way back in 1997. But y’all of course added some stuff to it. But I honestly made that beat. I got no reason to lie man. I was playing drums when you were still in your daddy’s loins. We gave the movie Drumline pointers. So just chill young buck

      @lukuscarter3563@lukuscarter35634 жыл бұрын
    • Diego Herrera they added some stuff to it but yeah. I literally made up that basic cadence. I got no reason to lie. I wouldn’t just say something like that outta the blue. Nor am I looking for credit. Just stating the facts. It’s actually not uncommon to see a drum cadence make it across the country.

      @lukuscarter3563@lukuscarter35634 жыл бұрын
    • Lukus Carter if you were old enough to make a cadence back in 97 then you wouldn’t be using phrases like “sho” and “young buck”. And yeah I highly doubt you gave the producers of Drumline “pointers”
