This is my last fishing trip at this place. This film is a poignant reminder that nothing lasts forever and if you have a good fishing spot better make the most of it. Graeme's final trip at an iconic lake that literally thousands of anglers have been fortunate enough to fish on a ticket basis and which has thrown up a great variety of different species over the years. But it’s not just the fish,it’s the magnificent surroundings on an Estate water where wildlife is still in a stronghold of peace and tranquility. This is the last film in GP's files on the fishery and his last overnight trip there. Catch some of the atmosphere as he tucks himself into a secluded bay to try his luck...Enjoy!

The main lake has sadly been closed off for day tickets and is now private. That is why this is Graham’s last trip.
Why are they doing that is what I want to know
I'm English but grew up in Australia. I don't understand these private lakes, passes etc. I think it's wrong to have to pay for a spot to fish at
@@davidkelly1298gone syndicate most likely, so all of the "proper carpers" can tug eachother off in private.
@@PoetofHateSpeechyup, the English way. See something good ..... No more of that thank you .... The regulations and rules here are so small and narrow minded and entirely about the cashola.
@thisisus.504 It's starting to happen here as well man 🥲. Private marinas are going up everywhere and local rivers have been totally destroyed by development
They should of made you an honourable member Graeme. Great video as always.
They wouldn't want to give a membership away for free. I just googled it and a top quality syndicate charges over 2k a year ! (Give me a river and a roach Anyday) !
Saw you on the Antiques Roadshow last Sunday - dropped in a bit of product placement at the end! “Totally Awesome!” Well done 👏🏻
Me to, wasn't expecting it1
Is that the one where Graeme brought a load of old padlocks and some anchor chain?
@@amazinghangover4233 Some kind of chest wasn't it?
Was that the music box
Does anyone know which episode?
i love margin fishing at night. alot of anglers forget about it and keep the rods fired out. anglers throw old bait in close range and the fish are creatures of habit and know they dont normally get caught at night down the margins and feel more confident feeding. margins at dusk/very early mornings iv had good success from. keep up the great vids guys!
Brilliant thank you Graeme, big thanks for sharing Sir.
I just so happened to watch your last video here earlier today, was great to see this drop later on. Love the vids, I could watch them all day, but you inspire me to get out there and fish
Greame is one of the only ppl on this earth. I dont want to see grow old and die.
Graeme agrees with you entirely ...!!!!!! Especially the "die" bit....
He would be fishing along side with the Late Great John Willson 🎣🎣🙂
@TAFishing 😂 brilliant reply, absolute legend of the hobbie/sport you are Graham, one of the finest fisherman in the uk, been a fan of u for a long time
Brilliant thank you Graeme
The end of an era. I only fished that lake once, what a stunning venue. Loving the vids though Graeme. I'm out on a 24hr tomorrow night so downloaded to watch the rest later. 👍
How do you mean you downloaded it to watch later on your fishing trip mate? I've no idea you can do that.
@@garylowe8601 You can download videos, the button is next to the like button. It basically means you can watch videos when you have no wifi, like when you’re fishing etc but you need to pay for premium i think to be able to.

Hello Graeme, yes watching you fish this lake, was only fifteen minuets away from me fished it in the 70s and beyond, so this is really special to watch a great angler like you, and for me to say goodbye buryhill, great video mate.....as always.
It was indeed a traditional old fishing lake and never once did I get a balloon shaped Carp, they all seemed well proportioned.
Really enjoyed watching nice a relaxing thanks for sharing
lived with you through our sea fishing years on the boat i still sea fish in my kayak with moter and now stabalizers still enjoy at 76 yrs . now in spain thankyou for all your help.
Another great video Graham. Thank you. 👍🏻
Great memories as a kid going there. Nice one Graeme
Thank you for always me something! You rock!!
You are brilliant Graham. Your videos are the best on KZhead by far. Keep it up mate. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎣🎣🎣🎣
Hi Graeme 👋🏻 love all your videos and I’m a keen carp fisher lady. I’d love you to say boys AND girls when talking to your audience because I’m always watching too ❤️ you always make me and my dad smile and you have a wonderful unique way about you (especially when trying to remove Moles from your garden!) Hope to bump into you on the bank someday ❤
The club I was a member of for many years twenty or so years ago used to have access to the stunning Great Lake at Bedgebury in Kent. I wish I had used it more and often and have so many fond memories of misty mornings catching Tench in summer and frosty winter mornings for Pike. They can't take away the memories Graham!
Hi Graeme … Sounded like an emotional fair well to a old friend. So sad. Glad you got that final bit of action. Graeme sir you take care 👍🎣🎣
Graeme, As an aged angler there are many places I know that I have fished for the last time. Although I always hope that the last trip will match the best I remember it seldom does. The last trip is just the last trip and you were right on to just enjoy all the other distractions there. The ones that along with the fishing have kept you coming back all these years.
So sorry to see the end of Bury Hill Lake as I remember it. I used to fish it back I the 60- 70s and now my only enjoyment of it was your videos..
awsome video Graeme.. nice fish🎣 love abit of cheese on my spaghetti bolognese also😋 like the merch
Lovely water not fished it for many years but a shame many anglers young and old are not going to get the chance to experience it for the foreseeable future .
TA Fishing is the best fishing channel on KZhead, I have learnt so much from GP and his videos. Always enjoy the 'cook up' segment. Enjoyed your cameo on BBC1 Antiques Roadshow last Sunday...nearly fell out of my chair. Loved the TA plug too. Please keep posting GP.
Loved the vid two beautiful carp my fav was common I remember I was fishing wylands farm back in the late 80 s I had a good run on my right hand rod about 3 in morning never new it was thick for yes run of bivvi straight in to rods and nearly in lake got carp in after 25 min battle 19lb 10 oz common
End of an era, Graeme. Sad when things are no more!
Nice fishing Graham 🎣
Well done mate, fish the place in the summer, quite busy, no spots near the island, but a lovely day out thanks to you mate, been watching you for sometime now, your a star, everyone I talk too all know you !! I guess the weight at 17.3, from sitting on my couch, great finish and great fishing mate !! You legend!! 💚 I’ve had black crab bollies before!!
You have had "Black Crab boilies" before ..?? Have you been to the Doctor's yet ??
Graeme is the funniest person on youtube when he and his son Mike get together.
Agree, the best ones are with the two of them, love the father and son banter.
Fished there a couple of time for Zander, only got small ones. Last trip I had a fast take on a roach head, turned out to be a 6lb tench! Lol.
Well done Graham very good film .
Pleased you enjoyed it...shame it got moved on,but I guess that's progress. A piece of fishing history.
I fished Temple Lake with my colleague as guests when it was first opened. We blanked 🤭, which was apity as it was supposed to be a write-up for an on-line mag. It was a lovely clear night though and one of the best views I've ever had of the Milky Way. Thousands of stars, so many it hardly went dark.
Has to be bittersweet to see venues you have fished for years close up, rivers become overgrown from being neglected. Onward to other waters Graeme!
Bivvy is from next generation tackle totally awesome session G.
Very sad to see it was your last trip there Graeme. It’s such a shame that these great venues keep closing to the average angler. I’m in South Wales and it’s happened here, in fact the best fishery in Newport is a cartel and now impossible to get in. I enjoyed your last vid and look forward to your next. Regards Jim
Next Generation Tackle
I made some black boilies in the past, crab from memory but I never had any luck with them, might have been the colour but more than likely the fisherman 😅
on and off ive grown up fishing bury hillsince i was 14, im now 51 great shame such a wonderful place ill miss it
Sorry it was your last trip here. It was one of my favourite places I watched you fishing at, but at least you found a couple of the elusive carp.
It was a great place, always a bit of action but it was mainly the surroundings you fish from. Makes a huge difference with the "enjoyable" factor. It was a one-off venue.
great video there graeme , just tried your combo with spag bol and cheese taeste great buddy.
There are black boilies that are halibut flavour, i have the pop up version they are good for zig fishing on a sunny day as they silhouette when the carp look to the surface.
Reminds me of John Wilson old bury hill 🎣💜🙏
I saw a pic of the whole Pullen clan having dinner, a while ago. It was good to see you all together. Mike don’t half look like his dad. Charlotte looks like her mum. Which is just as well, because I don’t think she’d like a moustache 😂
At least they don’t look like the milkman or postie, which could have been possible given the amount of time Mr P was off playing with his rod… 😎
@@paulhiggins6024 😂
The conditions you described with the half cloudy, half clear and fish being up on the surface in the early morning sounds very much like an algae bloom (it can be brown/green/red/slightly blue etc.), it may have happened a day or two before you got there. The fish were up on the top because they were likely struggling for oxygen as the billions of algae had consumed almost all the dissolved oxygen overnight. Once a colony has gotten too big and consumed all the resources (oxygen + nitrates/phosphates) it will die rapidly which will then cause a bloom of bacteria to eat the dead algae, this puts a further strain on the oxygen supplies. I'm sure you've seen where there's sort of a grey film on the surface of the water at the windward margin, that's called bio-film and is basically the carcasses of billions of dead algae which the bacteria haven't got round to breaking down yet.
Thanks for such an in depth comment...always something new to learn.
Black boilie but hemp flavour Had a few carp on them last Thursday & a bonus of two ancient big crucian carp Incidentally all within two foot of the bank next to some iris
Such a shame, but I am sure you will discover a better place to continue the awesome angling.
our trip guide is79 years old and hes still plodding the malaysian seas as we speak. he suffered a mild stroke some time back but he is still loving the fishing life. we booked him this september. So, GP please...never say never. just go easy on the bacon and sausages will do.🤪
Hi Graeme, hairs looking good ,had a pink rinse have we?only joking sir thanks for these vids they have been a god send at times , All the best from sunny Troon 😊
Glad you like the vid. Luckily still got my own full head of hair ,which I know does tick some people off ,but its from my mum's side, she had a thatch of hair, but both Grandparents on the male side were cue balls...not a blade of hair,so I'm lucky. No need for the pink rinse yet though..I'll just stick with the ageing grey...
Love the vids keep them coming matey, I put all the lack of bugs and critters to all the bluddy playing about with the weather they’re doing, with what’s going on with cloud seeding in Dubai to when they done the same in Australia a few year back and Beijing back when they had the olimpics it can’t be good I know that and they try tell us that we are the problem and get a 4 min shower to save the planet 😂😂
The Bury Hill main lake carp were smart. They would only feed after dark once the day ticket anglers had left. Bonds was a great runs water. I remember feeling beaten up after 37 carp in a day. Milton was the lake for Crucians and Tench. Proper old school float fishing. I assume Temple lake is still going for the hardcore big carp lads?
I use sweetcorn and dye it with green colouring on match venues, has the appearance of being in the water for a while, more trustworthy bait. Does well.
👌🏻
TA Fishing, have you tried soft plastics for carp? It's becoming popular here in Australia to catch European carp with them From worms to critter types of soft plastics.
Hi Graeme, Dynamite baits do a black boilie called the source. It’s been around for years though i’ve never tried it
Black boilies Graham? Can't help with licorice, but you used to be able to get one (possibly still can?) that was bloodworm flavour and (for me) very, very effecctive, particularly around spooky tench. Black, dull finish - looked like actified charcoal as much as anything, with no really obvious aroma but the tench seemed to love them - I'm wanting to say CC Moores?
Graham needs a trip to courtmacsherry. It’s been too long since we seen one of his Irish adventures!!
So true,I used to go to Ireland 3 times a year many years ago, coarse and sea. I missed Courtmac for a 5 year spell, went back and said I must not leave it that long again. Now its been another 2 years missed,I really must make the effort this year. But finding a settled window of weather for a week is next to impossible now. Most good weather lasts about 2 days.
@@TAFishing wow thanks for replying Graham. I’ve been watching you now for 8 years now. I feel honoured! I agree the weather window is key, but I have a good feeling about this year. End of May is typically my best fishing over here. Hope you do make it over this year 👍
a few years ago i fished on a lake in oxfordshire ..near stanlake .. it was day ticket water.. but its now a private members water.. because young kids ruin it by not respecting the place and leave lines and rubbish everywhere and being a pain in arse by shouting to each other over the other side and leaving there rubbish on the bank and not dipping there landing nets in the tubs provided with pesticides just to clean your landing net before fishing.... that is what i do before going to fishing place i always dip my nets in.. and respect the owners lake..or tell him..which sadly people dont do anymore
An end a beginning
great video, do you ever keep the fish?, and did you get anything on the trail cam? have a great day, good luck on the new spot.
I don't keep freshwater fish, everything gets returned(maybe trout might be kept if rules specify that). As for the trailcam, yes I got really good footage of a large Badger eating the bolies I scattered. Now I can't find the clip so I couldn't put it in,which is quite annoying.
Thanks!
Thanks,more films to come hopefully.
👍👍👍
Moving to antiques roadshow now?
I leave my ears on my head 😂
The black pearl boilie from hustlers baits its like super fishy
Never thought about it but i suppose you could fill those pva bags with anything really, do you ever use them in river? Thinking loads of dead maggot chopped up worm and roach pieces stinky. I wonder if you double bagged them qould it be strong enough for sea fishing?
I believe they take longer to dissolve in saltwater than fresh,so double bagging might make it even slower. Although if you were boat fishing and dropping it down it might dissolve before you even got to the bottom. And if you used mackerel/squid etc generally juicy baits I think rolling the bits of free offerings in flour or groundbait might stop the juice dissolving the bag too soon.
always a bit sad when another water is off the visit list.
I've got some black limited edition tutti fruity boilies never had any liquorice
Why the last trip?
The lake ended day tickets and went private
No one can fish it any more sadly
Is milton lake still open for day tickets? Anyone knows?
Is a new career in the Antiques Trade beckoning?
Is that Dorking Buryhill? 30 mins in and haven't heard him say where it is.
Watch the 1st 5 mins 😂
Yep
Why is the lake finishing now?
Last outing to that lake. It’s becoming members only, no more day tickets.
I'll never understand paying to fish at a spot.
Are they closing the lake ?
No, it's only available for members only and they don't sell day tickets anymore.
@@Private-Hudson Thankyou
Its closed entirely now no one can fish it its been bought by someone who wants it to become a nature reserve
How come you cant become a member?
Yeah why the last trip
Jelly Babies Graeme
It's all a bit sad really. Good luck Graham..
Why is this his last trip? Is the lake closing to the public?❤️🤗🐝
Yes.
Isn't this an old clip, thought bury had closed
No,its a brand new film .If you watch the film I say it is my last trip on that lake before it was sold .
@@TAFishing which is why I thought it was a while ago, I use to fish there a cpl of times a month and live fairly local and thought it closed except for the members on the speciman carp lake, and not heard on the grapevine otherwise. If I'd known I would still gone coz that lake was where I was introduced to fishing in the mid 70s and always liked it there. ✌️
Its better for the fishery Graham, atleast people cannot then just turn up trying to catch their dinner ,join it get yer wallet out 😂😅
Why is it last overnight trip?
Last outing to that lake. It’s becoming members only, no more day tickets.
As far as I know they’re turning this fishery over to wildlife. No more angling.
It’s becoming members only, no more day tickets.
They probably closed it to day ticket anglers because of disrespect of the environment. Some so-called anglers are complete morons, making it unpleasant for everyone, with noise, rubbish left etc. Maybe owners have had enough of it!!!
Can i just a stupid question why is this your last outing
Last outing to that lake. It’s becoming members only, no more day tickets.
Such a shame. But like everything else in this world i suppose its all about money
