It's been a bit since I last touched water...so that's why I'll be seeing how fast I can touch water in every Zelda game.

Hi there! I'm j0rts, and I like to explore mostly pointless things in video games while playing them in weird, unconventional ways.
Despite my name, this channel has nothing to do with jorts. In fact, I've never even worn a pair of jorts in my life. I just find the word fun to say... j o r t s.
Anyways, thanks for taking the time to check out my channel. If you'd like to hang out with me live, be sure to visit my Twitch channel over at / j0rts

Touch poison in every mario game
How fast can you touch clouds in every mario game
Touch rocks
Left Gang!!!
Right gang
I think that not doing a "How fast can you break pottery in every Zelda game" run in the future would be an incredible missed opportunity.
correct!
Zelda1 doesn’t have any vases to break
@@spacecat8511so skip that one lol
Zelda break pots% Speedrun
@@whateverwithalex9083 can't skip it. it's "every zelda game" so the challenge fails.
What's interesting is that I think a lot of placements on this list would be a lot different if you started the timer when you were able to control Link instead of when you started the game. Cutscenes absolutely demolishing the rate at which you can touch water in the likes of Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time lol.
yeah I'd be curious to see the difference in times this way
@@j0rtswind waker would be like 5 seconds because you can backflip off of the tower
@@jackneely7772 Timed it. If you sidejump the frame you get control of link, you can touch water in barely over a second.
Depends, is this "touch water % RTA?"
I think Link to the Past should still be fairly quick since the rain counts.
I know Breath of the Wild has that puddle of water there right before getting out of the chamber, but I mean... you start off submerged in water before even waking up.
yeah, my mine said "wait you start in water"
i think you have to make hte decision to touch water. otherwise ocarina of time would be the same, over in the opening cutscene. ...i think. cant remember if its raining in that cutscene on the bridge with ganondorf
@mitchhamilton64 It is raining in that cutscene yes, but that was also a dream technically so I do not believe that counts.
@@Silverwolf9562 the entirety of links awakening is a dream. again, im sure it only counts if the player can choose to get wet.
@@mitchhamilton64 well I mean He was in a storm and his boat was struck by lightning so I'd say Link definitely touched water while dreaming
Now touch some sand in ever Zelda game
Nah kill an enemy in every Zelda game
Nah break a vase/any potery
Nah touch grass irl
So many ideals yall listed^
@@Xenado22 😂
It’s incredible that windwaker is one of the longest runs to get to water
Because that intro is legit long af and you can't skip it 💩
In half of the games Link drowns instantly, and in the other half he swims perfectly.
Botw link is in the middle there, can swim, but only for like a few secs
Sometimes he's part zora apparently
@@ruchick6155or all zora
4:54 Had me actually laughing.
The fact that windwaker is not number one is criminal. Sometimes I feel like speedruns should start the second you can physically move lol
In Links awakening and in BOTW you start in water, before you can walk. Does that count?
If it's only during a cutscene, then no, it wouldn't. In some of his earlier videos, the opening cut scenes showed characters touching grass and he said it didn't count. Needs to be during gameplay.
@@darrenmacqueen9884 what? you seriously havent played BOTW? it starts as a cutscene and then youre immediately able to walk around in it lol
@Spimbles I played botw long ago. If you're able to walk around in it, I don't remember. What water you can and can't walk around in aren't the things that stick in my mind.
@@spimbles no you‘re literally not. The first water that isn‘t a cutscene is exactly where link touches water in the video as well.
@@spimbles the water drains from the shrine of resurrection before you gain control of Link
I know that Breath of The Wild makes you touch water instantly, but I’m excited for the others
Link's face getting slowly mangled by the pixelated zoomout whe dramatic music plays will always make me laugh. In PH, he looks like the Runescape Slayer gnome child!
Whoa, dude. I'm legit stunned that you put Tri-Force Heroes in this. I haven't seen it appear in literally any other Zelda compilation before, even though it was one of my favorites (it let me play with my husband :3). MAN was that game hard to find other players with after a good month or so, though.
I'll be honest I didn't even know the game existed until I started doing these videos, but it sounds like a fun time
@@j0rts not to be "that" guy, but how come you don't include the hyrule warrior games? is it because they lack the "legend of Zelda" in the title? Or is it because they aren't main line titles? i wouldnt expect you to include Link's crossbow training.
@@darknessincarnate6699 I like to stick to just the mainline games, and I don't personally consider the Warriors games as Zelda mainline games.
@@j0rts I'm just so glad you didn't leave out minish cap. I love that game so much, it was the only zelda game I owned as a child and its always so sad for me to see how little people know it.
@@j0rts It definitely was! It was a lot of fun, surprisingly, given I don't like repetition and after a little while it comes down to farming items so you can make outfits. (I forget exactly what the outfits did aside from change your appearance...) BUT when I was playing it during its initial release, my husband and I had a terrible internet connection so it was really hard to find a third player, and a lot of the time they were really bad. X'D The gameplay was super fun, though. Different weapons and effects, up to 3-person puzzles, and so lighthearted and easy that replaying levels didn't feel like a chore.
I forgot how damn awesome Wind Waker looks
even the gamecube version holds up
love that the ds games actually murder you in the tutoral levels. Especially Phantom Hourglass. Like, this is supposed to be WW Link, who can swim, why is he drowning!!?
It's now time. We all knew it was coming. It's time for Kirby to touch some grass and some water.
I love how wind waker, despite being THE water zelda game, takes the longest amount of time to any of the previous games by a significant margin.
Too bad you touch water so quickly in Link to the Past. The swimming animations of Link when he swims in the rest of the game is quite adorable.
Touch Fire in Zelda!!!
I love the buildup he almost always does in Phantom Hourglass when dying to the video objective
Don’t you wake up in water in BOTW?
If my memory serves, that water is drained before you take control of Link.
@@SureyD Yeah but he started the timer when he pushed "NEW GAME" so I would have counted it . . .
Nah thats sheikah goop
there's a puddle in the entryway as you leave the shrine I think, if you don't count the inch of water in the tub.... thing.
I think that rain may fulfill the letter of the requirement but perhaps not its spirit. "Touching water" usually means "touching a body of water " (such as a puddle, river or lake). If you wanted to be super-technical, there's moisture in the air so that's automatically "touching water", but it's not in the spirit of the challenge.
Not only do I love these videos, but this one reminded me that Tri-Force Heroes *actually exists* as I literally forgot that. I think it was the only Zelda game I never played...besides like the CDI nightmares. 😬
Yay! A new one. And Zelda no less. I’m enjoying watching these videos about touching/not touching between Mario, Sonic, and Zelda. Wish more of these would come out especially Zelda.
I don't know why I feel so satisfied to know how fast you can touch water in each Zelda game, but I do. Definitely do the smashing a pot task!
Jorts making Zelda look kinda fresh ngl 😩✋🤳
4:06 the noise you made is HILARIOUS 😭😭
ironically, the wind waker was the third longest one to touch water
Once tears of the kingdom comes out you should touch fire in every Zelda game 🔥
Spirit tracks had such a depressing death sound lol. As a kid i was like "omg im never going to die again" *dies again and experiences sad*
I can confrim jorts smells absolutely rank, he needs to touch more water
This is the content I didn’t realize I needed
I didn’t expect the two game over themes from the ds games to sound so well together
Your comedic timing is so excellent 👌
In BOTW, you technically start the game in water, so time would be 0.00
Love your vids! Can't wait til you touch every element, become the avatar, and stop the fire nation.
please keep making this Zelda videos, they're great👍
5:00 he’s relaxing by the pool to some neat music
Technically, BOTW is fastest because you start in water.
Rolling always makes you faster. Even if you move at the same pace, yoy move faster.
Finally, more people with Wii U BotW! Wii U players of the world, unite in this small shed!
I forgot it's raining at the beginning of LttP. Arguably, he didn't touch water, but got touched by water.
bro... touch some gra- I mean concrete
The touch water part Is not over, now you have to touch water in every Kirby game
Your voice has ben reminding me of someone and I couldn't place it but I figured it out. Mr. Van Driessen from Beavis and Butthead lol. Love your vids
Finally, Spirit Tracks is near the top of a list
I played on the wiiU version for years, even fully completing it before I was able to get a switch. It was really cool ngl, I had fun playing that version
Wow! All these years of playing Wind Waker and never noticed there was water in the game😂
Ocarina of Time is my favorite too. Started playing it on the GameCube in 2003.
THe fact that WIND WAKER of all of them is so freaking far down on this list is freaking hilarious alone!! XD XD
touch water, but can he touch BATH?!?!?
oh wait he did in this video HECC
In botw you litterally touch water as soon as you start because the shrine of resurection has water where link wakes up. Bro has been taking a bath for the past 100 years.
Hell yeah, Majora’s Mask making life difficult for water touchers since 2000 baby.
You missed Zelda on the cdi
in breath of the wild when you wake up you already touched water in the cutsene
" Holy Guacamole look at those waterfalls if this is what tears of the kingdom is going to be like sign me up!" Got me cracking up
This video was wetter than Princess Peach every time Bowser kidnaps her.
ive watched like 10+ of ur videos idk why i havent subscribed yet lol
J0rts' rule in his touching series is he has to be in control of the characters in order for the criteria to count. So Link's Awakening won't count because the intro is a cutscene. I dunno about BOTW haven't played it but if it is a cutscene, it won't count. If you control link, he was just wrong.
Cool video. Next touching snow in every Zelda/Mario game
6:55 gotta love that huge gap between TMC and LA
Touch enemies already
It’s not often that Phantom Hourglass gets #1 at something, so as a Phantom Hourglass fan, I’ll take what I can get.
Bro BOTW was immediate, it’s in the opening cutscene. And if you don’t count the cutscenes just turn around and walk back to the water bed
I have the Wii U BotW as well. It was years before I got it on the Switch too.
Good for Phantom Hourglass, finally getting to be worth something :D
So we have earth, fire, water. When is air?
The saga continues^^
Wow, another Breath of the Wild Wii U shoutout. Thanks for making me feel included.
Water RNG…funniest shit I’ve heard all day
Another great video
4:54 bros think they're Walter White
in breath of the wild u wake up in water ... u forgot that
I bought a WiiU after the Switch came out. My rationale was there was nothing out for the Switch except for Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey because this was the initial slow period before Nintendo ported everything from WiiU to Switch. It just didn't make good financial sense at the time. So when I got my WiiU, I got BotW, Bayonetta, Mario Kart, Mario 3D World, the two Zelda remasters, along with some Wii games like Mario Galaxy and New SMB (since I skipped the Wii generation), and a few other games. It was a good haul. Most of the games were used and really cheap by then. I had a ton of fun with it and got my money's worth. I didn't upgrade to the Switch until late 2019 when Octopath Traveler came out (and I didn't have to deal with scalpers). While I no longer have my WiiU, I still believe that it was a good financial decision to get the WiiU for the first year of the Switch lifespan.
The System of a Down reference 💀
See? I knew Phantom Hourglass was the best at something!
I honestly haven't played any loz games past ocarina of time. Well, except about 5 minutes of majora's mask
I still use a Wii U version of BotW.
Hi:D I’m fan!!
what’s funnier is that Wind Waker is the game with the most water out of all and it STILL is third to last
I have dabbled in twilight princess speedrunning and rolling does indeed make you faster
I don't think opening cutscenes should cound for this
Next series should be how fast can you fall to your death to represent air
After all this speed running you must be hungry. You should eat candy as Kirby in all the Kirby games.
you should do a challenge with the kirby series or rayman series :D
I knew it, phantom hourglass is the cleanest Zelda game
Breath of the Wild should be the fastest because you literally wake up in water. Or some kind of liquid, anyway.
You don't even have to play any of Link's awakening. You literally almost drown before it even starts
In legends of Zelda, breath of the wild the Resurrection, shrine you come out of water
Thanks for saying ocarina like ocarina. It was a good one.
Hydration: Legend of Link edition
Awesome video brother! Don't forget to stay hydrated by touching water!
I hope they add diving in Tears Of The Kingdom
Now kill an enemy in every Zelda game
How fast can Donkey Kong swing on a vine in every Donkey Kong game
Now touch some Zelda in every Zelda game
Links awakening you technically touch water in the opening cut scene
I was just about to write a comment pondering whether the next step after grass (earth) and water would be touching fire... only to then see that this video exists in the sidebar and I just missed it lol
Now you gotta do how fast can you touch fire in every Zelda game.
Lava in every Zelda next? Touching sand in every (mainline) Pokemon?
I have the wii u version of botw And also I think there might be some water in the resurrection tub in the shrine of resurrection
