The true music of the Catholic Church. The Second Vatican Council did away with Gregorian Chant and replaced it with modern music. Such a shame.

I've been asking myself so much questions since a few time, wondering whether or not catholic heads have introduced modern and non biblical things into the core holy religion. People told me to look for the different councils and the decisions that have been taken after them. Bella Angelus, if you please, the Second Vatican Council not do away with Gregorian Chant. Chant is very much alive. Please read the document on the Sacred Liturgy from the Council. In fact chant is encouraged to be used during the Celebration of the Eucharist. In my parish right now (2023) we frequently sing chant hymns along with other forms of music at Eucharist. And that is true in many parishes across the world. Please be careful of passing on statements that are not true.

@@psychedelicpython, when appropriate, we sing Ubi Caritas, Salve Regina, Veni Sancte Spritus, Puer Natus, Lauda Scion, and the Gloria, Sanctus and Agnes Dei and many others as well. We also sing Latin hymns occasionally, along with some contemporary music. If you would read the document on the Sacred Liturgy from the Second Vatican Council, you would see that the Council, far from doing away with Chant, sees the Church as the sole guardian of that art form and encourages its use in Liturgical celebrations.
The Vatican II document Sacrosanctum Concilium (116) stated that “the Church acknowledges Gregorian chant as especially suited to the Roman liturgy; therefore, other things being equal, it should be given pride of place in liturgical services.” Very sadly, this call of the council, (among many other items), has been completely ignored. Our Roman patrimony is beautiful, something to be treasured preserved.
This beautiful music could have only been inspired by Almighty God in Heaven. Praised be our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This should be played worldwide over loudspeakers, through every phone, tv, radio, all social media every minute of every day for 7 days. The madness will stop and the world will be converted. Turning to God, worshipping God, thanking God, repenting of your sins to God is the only way the madness will end. We need peace. Peace can only come from God.

While this is gentler than some ideas I've heard, this method is still a form of intimidation, coercion, and control. I do not think Jesus would approve; those are not His ways. He seeks those who would follow willingly. Let us instead use the time to meditate upon our own weaknesses and growth, and upon God's wisdom and grace, that in seeking Him we may become an example of His ways that those who see would willingly follow.

I sat in church at the Cathedral. They played very softly in the background Gregorian chants. I found it calming and spiritual while adding to my prayer session.
I remember being in York Minster and there was an American choir in there. it was like angels singing... you can't beat a bit of religious music when it is done beautifully.
When the Golden State had luster I would go to Vino California for retreats or San Diego Ca, sometimes Shaw Island WA. Peace And quiet except for Gregorian Latin Mass. It is difficult for all of us with the fullness of faith to Fathom what is an affront to all Catholics and to Christian’s who believe in Jesus i His death and Redemption on the cross.We must not become despondent But have Hope in the Father Son and Holy Sprit.Take one day at. Time. Be patient with yourself zGod as infinite patience with us.Amen

You can if you attend Traditional Latin Mass. I listen to that kind of music every Sunday at FSSP Mass.

Traditional mass seemed to have the best visuals, went to a Russian Orthodox Mass one time and a Meronite Rite Mass too, should have seen the gentle whisps of smoke that levitated above the alter from the incense, that with the prayers that were chanted gave a beautiful combo.

As secretarias perceberam que estava dando para ouvir as condições, então colocou o som gregoriano e o padre ouviu a música mas também começou a ouviu um barulho estranho , então as secretárias vieram pedir ajuda a ele pois havia alguém passando mal. Era uma das pessoas que estavam esperando para se confessar. Ela pedia para tirar essa música pois estava incomodado. Então começou a se torcer no chão se debater e fazer um som de cachorro um som estranho que o padre não sabia explicar . Então ele pediu água benta e fez uma oração então a pessoa levantou sentou E aguardou ser chamada para a confissão. Esse som incomoda o inimigo. Coloco ao deitar ou quando estou preocupada. Acalma muito é um som do céu.

I love this Gregorian chant. Its so heavenly. I am in a different when i listen to this wonderful chant. I forget about the madness and wickedness that this modern world offers corrupting innocent minds. I pray that with the prayers of mankind this world will be transformed into a new spiritual world. With Jesus Christ as the one snd only Gateway to Eternal bliss.

This is what I find to be the most beautiful and sacred part of the Catholic mass in my opinion. The most spiritually and physical beautiful mass I’ve been to in my life has been last weekend when I got confirmed into my Catholic Church. It was so elegant and ritualistic and just all around glorious. I couldn’t have had a better or more spiritually pleasant mass than the one I had that day and it was truly one of the highest blessings I’ve received from god. 🥹💕❤️✝️🙏🙌
