He speaks almost as well as he writes.
Dmitry Ivanov well, he wrote that
Words are his music
Yeah but I am a bit shocked though, he didn't talk this smooth in his Masterclass. Anyway, his screenplay is indeed great
Rifqi Alfadhillah why do these people even have masterclasses? They’re amazing and they do a great job but I must admit that Sorkin does have a talent. It’s not purely methodical
He eat scripts for breakfast, lunch and dinner I believe
The screenplay for this movie was gold. Every bit of the Social Network was amazing. Not one boring moment! Shame it didn't win the Oscar for Best Picture
I agree everything in this movie is gold. The soundtrack from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross is masterpiece too.
Especially mad David Fincher didn't win
I still think toy story 3 should've won
Should have won best director and best picture...years later it’s obviously clear
@Diego Pisfil wdym it was a great film
The best writer of dialogue.
with Tarantino
I love Sorkin but I would give the edge to Tarantino.
Sean Pultz Nope, that's gotta go to Tarantino. Close though
Sean Pultz Nope. The Coen brothers.
Sorry but that's Quentin Tarantino.
The social network should've won best picture by far
Aaron Sorkin is a genius.
yes he is. I am late in recognizing his brilliance. I started binging "The West Wing" last weekend, and I am hooked.
@@deldee i m more late:(
A legend
Of course a winner for best screenplay would have this good of a speech, damn.
+Auto Archer Aaron of all people would have a great speech because he writes movies where people pretty much gives speeches every time they open their mouths! He is the best at dialog and long monologues! He must really have great conversations in his head.
Most of them are great, check them out
Exactly.
Javier Bardem has just inspired me to write an original screenplay, titled "The Shawshank Network." It will tell the fictional tale of Mark Zuckerberg and his dealings as a convict within a maximum security prison.
Lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
WTF lol
Had me on the first half, not gonna lie🤣🤣🤣
You actually had me laughing out loud XD. Here take a like.
On paper this film should be a snooze fest. Tech geeks and entrepreneurs suing each other for alleged intellectual property violation. But only Sorkin and Fincher could make it one of the best films of the decade. Absolutely phenomenal, just got round to watching it and can't believe it took me so long. Phenomenal dialogue, great acting, and the score is sublime.
"...Arnie Hammer, Arnie Hammer..." HAHAHAHA
Lol nobody laughed looks like they did'nt get the joke
I liked that Fincher referred to "the invisible Josh" in his Golden Globes acceptance speech. Wish he could have repeated it at this Oscar ceremony.
Toy Story 3 was adapted from Toy Story and Toy Story 2. -Academy logic
Toy story really should've won
@Ryan Akwar No,but it couldn't be based on the prequel.
All sequels are considered adaptations
it is a carbon copy of Toy Story 2 so yes, it is adapted screenplay
But the script ai well written and the story was great
this is truly the "King's Speech"
Every line of dialogue is a masterpiece. With that being said, it obviously benefited from a director who visualized it in a way I have never seen before. So why the fuck did Fincher not win the Oscar for this movie
Honestly, if Sorkin didn't win, I probably would've put a hole in my TV.
One of the finest screenplay's ever written
A better speech than the King´s Speech...
SORKIN: to his daughter Roxie age 11 -- ''ROXIE SORKIN..... YOUR FATHER JUST WON THE ACADEMY AWARD....... I'M GONNA HAVE TO INSIST ON SOME RESPECT.... FROM YOUR GUINEA PIG!....." -- love it! cute!
Dan Bloom that was too sweet.
I got the joke there! What a good writer with a neat disposition to include some disruption in his writing.
Who the fuck remembers "King's Speech"?...this is the movie that will last for a long time.
See 'Citizen Kane'. It's not about what movie will 'last for a long time', it was about which movie was the best at the time. That's why "How Green was my Valley" was a better movie back then according to the academy.
This is unarguably the best "well deserved" oscar win. Aaron is awesome. Should've given fincher the best director too.
Great speech! Not surprised at how articulate he is.
Legendary screenwriter
Believe me I know but I ththink toy story 3 shouldve won
Now go see the film Moneyball. Another great script from Sorkin. I hate baseball and could not give a damn about math, but I will watch it every time it's on.
Aaron Sorkin is one of those few people who you can tell, just by the way he talks, that he's a phenomenal screenwriter Most deserved Oscar win that year.
The Screenplay of this movie is a MASTERPIECE 👌
I love that hug from Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem
They danced a bit too, but the Academy panned to Penelope right away
Class. Love how they put the music on to play him off but he kept calm and continued his speech.
He’s always humble (or maybe insecure) but the man is nothing short of a genius
The Social Network has great screenplay.
I've seen how Aaron Sorkin approaches his craft and the craft of writing in general--his acceptance speech sounds like a true writer writing words which flow from his brilliant, masterful mind creating a beautiful picture using words alone, where visual craft show the story but words create it.
He deserves another Oscar for what he did with Steve Jobs.
+BlueFox94 If only the movie performed better at the box office, he would've been there.
94dfk1 Sadly, yeah. :(
BlueFox94 He wasn't even nominated. What a shame!
Hernan Cine That snub and the omission of the song "Feels Like Summer" from Shaun The Sheep in Best Original Song were two of the biggest travesties of the 2015 Oscar season.
Absofruitly!
great move and screenplay. and glad he gave a tribute to Chayeksky's Network, which was an ingenious screenplay and film.
fajita did you see Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip? It was the show Sorkin followed up West Wing with and the pilot is basically a homage to him and Network.
The Social Network does an excellent job depicting the shadow side of creativity, the loneliness of those scouting the new territory ahead, and the ways in which anger fuels ambition and the quest for control in our times. Technology now plays a major role in minute-by-minute unfolding of our days. This movie raises a lot of questions about it while acknowledging that bane or gift, social media is here to stay.
We'll deserved! He is just so brilliant, best screenwriter in all time!
I'll be there someday
Me too my friend,Me too...
Me too...and I'm working real hard to make it happen!
Goodluck!
I'm 22, do I have a chance to be there?
+Giancarlo Martino why not?
I can not believe he didn't get nominated for a few good men. you realize how well that script was written even compared to the social network - and it too was an adaptation
Revolutionary. Absolutely emblematic of its time and place.
Now I know, why every character in the social network is so fast-talking
When a movie wins Best Screenplay but loses Best Picture it just makes no since!! I still get angry when I think that it lost to The Kings Speech, or that it lost at all!! Clearly the Academy doesn't like Fincher just like they didn't like Scorsese for many years. But I sadly feel that Finchers best days are behind him since he can never get the funding he needs to make films he truly wants to make!
+Freddie Grace but there are two Screenplay winners every year and only one picture winner, so every year there's a screenplay winner who doesn't win Picture. King's Speech also won Screenplay this year.
Yes I guess that is true this year, but not some. I guess it is more strange when Screenplay loses and movie wins as well. But I truly believe Social Network was a much better script than the Kings Speech by far. It was brilliant actually. I felt anyone could have written Kings Speech but only Aaron could have written a script for Social Network that great. It was special.
I think Aaron's one of the most gifted writers ever, but I disagree on the King's Speech, i found its screenplay to be delightfully witty and upbeat. It was a terrific year for screenplays
Luke McGowan Both really good but so different how can they even compete. That is why awards for movies and music just doesn't make since.
I think what it came down to were the directors. as much as I LOVE Fincher (and I think Social network is his best film) the imagery and directorial detail by Top Hooper' King speech was MASTERFULY crafted...when some academy voters were asked later about why the Kings speech won, they said "it came down to Direction and heart"....Both films are equally brilliant in my opinion, but I can see why they went with the kings speech
I met this guy recently. Brilliant dude.
+Syncrocity Was he a nice guy?
Syncrocity Where did u met him?
Hernan Cine At a screening of Steve Jobs in LA, across the street from the CINEMA DOME on Sunset
***** Was he a nice guy?
Chris Wolff Oh absolutely. Its crazy. He is extremely passionate and always engaged when it comes to writing dialogue for his characters.
One of the best of all time, love him so much. Incredible speech.
there hasn’t been a more deserving oscar!
Totally deserved, amazing screenplay.
I might be watching for 100th time and everytime his speech gives me chills
"Armie Hammer, again" lol
One of the best screenplays ever!
Even his acceptance speech is insanely well written.
What a legendary speech. he can win the presidential elections with that flair and flow with words.
I highly recommend reading the screenplay itself, it is extremely well written and paced.
Gotta be the best Oscar speech ive seen
Flawless speech👌🏻
legend! i love his writing, his work!
Impeccably scripted, beautifully directed and filled with fine performances, the Social Network is a riveting, ambitious example of modern filmmaking at its finest.
One of the best written movies I ever got to see
One of the best screenplays of the decade
What a great speech! Truly deserving of the award indeed!
best screenplay in YEARS.
PianoMan1191 best screenplay since There Will Be Blood in 2007
Love the triumphant music at the end!
Great nod to Paddy Chayefsky and the masterpiece "Network" (1976) Both brilliant films!!!
FINALLY! Already took them long enough to give Mr. Sorkin a nomination as well. Best award of the night for sure. If only David could've won as well.
beautiful. just, beautiful.
Fantastic performances, compelling story for teens and up.
From Aaron Sorkin The Emmy Award Winning Creator Of The West Wing, And Academy Award Winning Writer Of The Social Network & Moneyball.
The Social Network is such a good film, every bit of dialogue is a mentionable quote in itself.
Great! Out of all the nominations and oscars The Social Network won and should've won this was the most deserved of them all. Dare say the most deserved oscar of the ceremony! :)
Great speech, totally deserved.
:D Certainly either The Social Network or Winters Bone!!! LOVED both films!!!!
My favorite screenplay ever
I feel like youtube recommending this to me now is like saying He gonna win again the year for the Chicago 7 Cuz DAMN THAT MOVIE IS GREAT
NO TEARS NO FEARS ONLY CHEERS AND CHEERS FOR ALL NEARS AND DEARS.
One of my favorite screenplays ever. Noone deserved that Oscar more than Sorkin. Noone!
Aaron sorkin humble and great.
You obviously haven't seen The Social Network. Sorkin's screenplay was miles ahead of anybody else's that year, adapted or original.
WONDERFUL 💋 PRESENTATION AND AMAZING EVENT
Aaron Sorkin is a brilliant writer, his work in The Social Network is incredible, I have never heard such good dialogues. This movie is a complete masterpiece.
Man this film was great
Absolutely.
Yeeeeeeees he surely deserve it
Hopefully he’ll win another Screenplay Oscar for The Trial of The Chicago 7.
He should've won the 2nd Oscar Sorkin is a legend
He is also a huge pioneer
One of the most deserved oscars in history
The social network does deserve this award and more. Including best picture.
or director - David Fincher
1. The Social Network 2. Toy Story 3 3. 127 Hours 4. True Grit 5. Winters Bone
Thanks to you, Aaron Sorkin for such a recognition of anyone and everyone you had around you. We all know you are a great screenwriter and now we see the nice human being you are. And Hi to Roxy who certainly has a good sense of humor. Long life to you and to your writing, Aaron Sorkin. ✋👏🌟✨
@marneebox It's because it's a sequel apparently and under Academy rules that automatically makes it an adapted screenplay. Another weird example is the screenplay for Letters from Iwo Jima is apparently original despite being based on a book!!
God damn, that man can give a speech...
This wasn’t really an adapted screenplay. Sorkin wrote the screenplay with his own research while the book was being written. Kinda like 2001 a space odyssey
100% Deserved.
Well this is a more refine way of rushing through the speeches than the "f"ing Ride of the Valkyries.
Sensational. A once-in-a-generation movie.
1:39 - Danny Boyle's thinking "I'm getting that guy and making Social Network 2!"
An astonishing morality tale about the shadow side of creativity, the loneliness of pioneers and the ways in which anger can fuel ambition.
@marneebox IMDB does state that apparently Letters from Iwo Jima is in fact based on TWO books. Non Fiction works admittedly, but the films screenplay is still 'based on material previously produced or published', the definition of an adapted screenplay. The only thing that would make it original, is if the books were unpublished at the time the script was written
Yes, sequels are always in the adapted screenplay category.
All four of those nominees knew they had no chance that year. It is going to be a long time before we get a script that was as beautiful as that one.
Fucking legend . Period . Never there was never there will be like him . Such an inspiration.
The best dialogue in film history
I want to be just like him! So inspirational!
A tight screenplay and a tight speech.
Still in my opinion, one of the best scripts ever written
I think in place of Winter's Bone, the movie that should be in place is The Karate Kid based on The Karate Kid 1984 movie
I dunno about that
It's interesting how Aaron and Ben wrote their respective takes on Facebook almost simultaneously.
