  • I've had the chance to shoot that coil gun a while back. Very fascinating design and concept that will get everybody around you talking about it, but as it is now it's just an expensive gimmick. It's too underpowered for self defense. From this list you'd be better off with that stun gun or perhaps one of those crossbows.

    • But why, I don't understand the point. If you're putting that much work and tech into a weapon, why pretend you're still using something medieval when the same or less effort could make a far more effective and modern gun ? Even just learning to make black powder and a musket or something would be more useful. A bow isn't really relevant to anything irl unless you can make the entire bow and all the arrows from raw materials you get on your own. I don't even consider a slingshot useful (I might change my mine if someone can figure out how to transmute old tires into elastic rubber tubes).

  • A bullpup rifle is a rifle where the trigger grip is located in front of the rifle breech. The breech is where the action of the rifle opens and expells the spent shell casings. Seeing as that is an air rifle and does not contain a single component required to make it a bullpup, it is safe to say that it is not a bullpup.

Two of my categories of people I do are soldiers and people who have survived an alien invasion, both of whom would need weapons. That's what brought me here!

  • If you are intending to get a Benjamin Bulldog thinking you will shoot it in your backyard with neighbors all around you, you will not. Its a serious high powered air rifle capable of hunting deer and even with its suppression (and being air), is easily louder than a .22lr. You also need to buy a pump which is anywhere from $400 (chinese no-name models) to $1500. I have a few PCP rifles, but where I live, the Benji is too much gun for my needs, but I really want it.

    • That thing looked weak as heck, didn't even make it through the flatscreen. But the Stinger II crossbow is a viable home defense weapon for those who cannot get firearms. Get the 90lb limb upgrade and it'll make a nasty enough hole to give any home invader pause. Easy to handle, fast and accurate, and can be reloaded quickly, about as easily as a revolver w/ speedloader.
