It bonded us to our parents. It made us closer, as a family. Not be cause it was hunting and fishing (although nothing is a cool or fun at a young age), but because it was a family activity. Family activities are a great thing. Even once a week. Even a silly board game can make the difference in a kids life. Katie, keep up the excellent work, be safe and keep a clear sight picture.

She is not a feminist, but a beautiful young lady. This is what our children need today. The world is cruel, to defend yourself is very important. To educate yourself is a must. • Thank you to Marie Claire for courageously showing positive aspects of legal gun ownership and responsible enjoyable shooting sports. Katie is a well informed, intelligent, compassionate, young woman who effectively expresses her beliefs about societal issues, self defense, gun control, and responsible gun ownership. Katie is an impressive young woman in many ways, not just for excelling in local, national, and international shooting activities, she is also a good student, responsible and disciplined, a good friend, a good daughter, a good citizen and a good ambassador for the USA. In one of her statements she said “a gun is a good equalizer between a woman and a man.” I believe she meant because of size and strength issues. However, I suggest that a more clear statement is that a gun is a good equalizer between a good person and a bad person. And finally, congratulations to Katie’s parents for raising a wonderful daughter.

I never had to have it taken away from me. Had a .410 shotgun at 9 and a 22 at 10 . Ive never hurt a sole not even myself thanks to gun education and respect of firearms and people. • Just came across your video and can only say with a lump in my throat that you and people like you are our hope. I'm in my 70's and figure maybe I can still help but your the future. A smart mature capable young lady. Brought up by a proper family with the old fashion values. Great job and I figure you now are 20 years old. God you and your generation have your work cut out for you but I feel you can and will do it. Thanks

  • Respect to your father for teaching you how to safely handle a firearm, hunt if needed, shoot for fun/competition and be able to defend your home, your property, your life and other people's life as well. You have the right attitude and outlook. I will be teaching my daughter the same.
