The “just kidding” at 4:53 was actually really well timed and caught me way off guard. I’m so used to seeing so many channels nowadays just casually whip out the fact that they designed and made a perfectly fitted part after a bunch of CAD work and multiple designs. I totally expected to see that and then you just went “nah I found a pipe that fit it lol”. Idk it’s probably not that big a deal but I personally found it really funny

These were the sidearm to have in the 2012-2014 NIC in Canada. There was a time when they were $5 CAD at ToysRUs. Little bit of shell cutting you could slap a 1/2" CPVC coupler on it. Or nest a brass breech in some 1/2" PVC if you were feeling fancy.

The "flintstone house" you mentioned is in my neighborhood! I pass by it all the time. Only recently did the new owners make it colorful and add dinosaurs. Before it was a funny brown clay-looking bulbous house---the personality came with the new owners but there was a bunch of opposition to it. People thought it would be an eyesore, but they went ahead with it and it looks great.

As you know by now, this is definitely a paintball blaster, which is why the spring is so strong. Had one a long time ago. It used proprietary paintballs that were much smaller than standard size.

Yes , 10mm paintballs. I used one of those mini sized bottled waters to make a 100rd hopper for mine. Btw at the time I bought mine 15 years ago ( these were actually around as early as '06-'07 ) they also had the chalk dart version. The port on top was plugged, and they came with these darts that would leave a colored chalk dot on you when hit. I think there were even 2 gun sets with red and blue chalk darts with a plain white vest thing so kids could sort of play a save version of paintball in their backyard.

Honestly I'm more or less concerned about the blaster destroying itself out of power even after seeing the whole thing. I sorta want to see if you can make a version of this project that can reach similar or higher levels of force without any of the self-destruction.

Keep a projectile to absorb the energy and wont have a problem. The problem is when you dry fire, the energy that would go to launch the projectile is redirected into the object itself. Be it bow, or this. Limbs and strings on a bow can explode. Better it to break than explode.

I had this EXACT gun as a kid and we would use the whistler darts that had a tighter fit and would fly a lot better then normal bullets. Amazing video!

My son got one of these years ago for his birthday. I found you could hand load a nerf dart into the end of the barrel. It will fire nerf darts stock. It shoots so hard it would split the foam body of the dart. No mods required to shoot a dart a one bye one.

I have the exact same one but purple and it's meant for Nerf epicness. It has a 6-dart storage right under the barrel and it used to be the best Nerf gun I owned. Over the years though, it would occasionally shoot like 1ft :C

The reason you could feel recoil from that wad because you put a metal weight into the plunger, if you use a plastic spacer instead oth the socket I'd bet that that force would be reduced It would probably be better for the blaster too, both in performance and in its longevity

Some good blasters with stock performance similar to this include the rekt jury, which is a co2 powered half length dart revolver. Gets around 100 shots per 12g co2 cartridge, and like 130-140fps. Another one that isn't "cheating" with co2 is the adventure force aeon pro, shots half or full length darts, personally I think it shoots a little harder then the co2 one, but they are similar in power. Both of them shot at best 300-316 feet outside. With average of about 50 feet less, both shot over the foundation ruins of a barn, and over a small silo (maybe 40-50 feet tall). With certain darts they leave small bruises.

You're feeling recoil because that socket is very massive compared to a plastic insert. The plunger would also move much faster, by moving less mass.

I’ve been on the search for years to try to make the ultimate nerf blaster, yet I still have no clue how to make the mods I want. This helped a ton on how to improve the power of the blasters tho. I wish I could make a blaster similar to the CS-35 but with more power and faster to reload. Also having the ammo drum on the bottom instead of the side if possible. I have no clue where to start on those specific modifications yet

There's a dart blaster version of this that I have owned a few of in my life. It is a Lanard First Shot (sometimes better found by searching for Total XStream Air as many sellers don't know the name of it). It has a similarly insane spring and ratchet draw. Definitely one of the most powerful blasters I ever modded.

Mine was branded as the SUPA SPLAT and would actually fire standard streamline darts very well in stock form with a better barrel fit than this and I did not need to modify mine to shoot over my house. Maybe they changed them over time ? The SUPA SPLAT's we had were red and blue, I also had the supa splat blowgun and the hamp style that I think was a variant of an existing marshmallow blaster. Me and my brother bought them to shoot each other but they didn't have enough power to break the 10mm paintballs unless they hit a hard surface. At the time ( this was 15 years ago) they also offered the chalk dart variant of these pistols Called the Wipeout, so maybe they were using the same dart optimized barrel from the Wipeout on the SUPA SPLAT's that I had ? The wipeout was from the same people who made the predator paintball pistol which I has as well, got it at goodwill and darts would barely fire even though some of the predators were sold with a pack of wipeout chalk darts as a bonus.

Oh hey I had this when I was a kid! After running out of paint balls I loaded it with steel bearing balls that I happened to have from a magnet set and they would shoot across the room if shot with a high arc.

I had me one of these things when I was a teen, Airsoft was in and I had this and a cheap 20 dollar springer. I'd load the pistol splat with a wad of paper filled with airsoft bbs. I'd use it then switch to the pistol. this thing was stupid powerful.

I think a bit longer barrel, maybe just 1 inch longer, drilling out the air vent a bit and having a plastic spacer in the back of the plunger instead of the heavy steel socket (making the plunger lighter=more acceleration) would make it easily go up to 160 fps, if not higher.

These were the sidearm to have in the 2012-2014 NIC in Canada. There was a time when they were $5 CAD at ToysRUs. Little bit of shell cutting you could slap a 1/2" CPVC coupler on it. Or nest a brass breech in some 1/2" PVC if you were feeling fancy.

The "flintstone house" you mentioned is in my neighborhood! I pass by it all the time. Only recently did the new owners make it colorful and add dinosaurs. Before it was a funny brown clay-looking bulbous house---the personality came with the new owners but there was a bunch of opposition to it. People thought it would be an eyesore, but they went ahead with it and it looks great.
This channel has great potential. In my opinion there’s a vacuum of great nerf content on KZhead, especially now that coop has retired, and I think this channel, with a little bit of work, could fill those shoes.

As you know by now, this is definitely a paintball blaster, which is why the spring is so strong. Had one a long time ago. It used proprietary paintballs that were much smaller than standard size.
Yes , 10mm paintballs. I used one of those mini sized bottled waters to make a 100rd hopper for mine. Btw at the time I bought mine 15 years ago ( these were actually around as early as '06-'07 ) they also had the chalk dart version. The port on top was plugged, and they came with these darts that would leave a colored chalk dot on you when hit. I think there were even 2 gun sets with red and blue chalk darts with a plain white vest thing so kids could sort of play a save version of paintball in their backyard.

Honestly I'm more or less concerned about the blaster destroying itself out of power even after seeing the whole thing. I sorta want to see if you can make a version of this project that can reach similar or higher levels of force without any of the self-destruction.
Keep a projectile to absorb the energy and wont have a problem. The problem is when you dry fire, the energy that would go to launch the projectile is redirected into the object itself. Be it bow, or this. Limbs and strings on a bow can explode. Better it to break than explode.
I had this EXACT gun as a kid and we would use the whistler darts that had a tighter fit and would fly a lot better then normal bullets. Amazing video!
As a paintball player and referee I just want to say thank for turning that industrial waste into such an amazing blaster. Really does show that ones mans trash is another man's treasure!

My son got one of these years ago for his birthday. I found you could hand load a nerf dart into the end of the barrel. It will fire nerf darts stock. It shoots so hard it would split the foam body of the dart. No mods required to shoot a dart a one bye one.
I have the exact same one but purple and it's meant for Nerf epicness. It has a 6-dart storage right under the barrel and it used to be the best Nerf gun I owned. Over the years though, it would occasionally shoot like 1ft :C
Thats just what happens with a lot of nerf guns ocasionally they just plop out Moreso if you don't push the dart in all the way

The reason you could feel recoil from that wad because you put a metal weight into the plunger, if you use a plastic spacer instead oth the socket I'd bet that that force would be reduced It would probably be better for the blaster too, both in performance and in its longevity

Wouldnt you think that with the modified barrel you got less FPS, then with the stock barrel + removed buffer spring you would be hitting at least 180 FPS? That blaster is wild, im gonna go have to see if i can find it.

Hey, I really love this video. This kind of content is what made me so fixated on "Nerf" and adjacent toys when I was a kid, and your sense of dry and straight-faced humor resonates with me. I hope you get whatever you're looking for out of this KZhead channel.
Some good blasters with stock performance similar to this include the rekt jury, which is a co2 powered half length dart revolver. Gets around 100 shots per 12g co2 cartridge, and like 130-140fps. Another one that isn't "cheating" with co2 is the adventure force aeon pro, shots half or full length darts, personally I think it shoots a little harder then the co2 one, but they are similar in power. Both of them shot at best 300-316 feet outside. With average of about 50 feet less, both shot over the foundation ruins of a barn, and over a small silo (maybe 40-50 feet tall). With certain darts they leave small bruises.
Im not cheating mine doesn't use CO2 but it's really hard to find the darts that are 9mm 🤔😁
You're feeling recoil because that socket is very massive compared to a plastic insert. The plunger would also move much faster, by moving less mass.
Yep the buffer springs are in there to make them less powerful they they don't literally tear themselves apart.

I’ve been on the search for years to try to make the ultimate nerf blaster, yet I still have no clue how to make the mods I want. This helped a ton on how to improve the power of the blasters tho. I wish I could make a blaster similar to the CS-35 but with more power and faster to reload. Also having the ammo drum on the bottom instead of the side if possible. I have no clue where to start on those specific modifications yet

I had one of these that was designed to shoot these tiny velcro balls at a target so it had a really powerfull spring in it already. One day I realized it fit nerf darts perfectly. It hurt a lot

There's a dart blaster version of this that I have owned a few of in my life. It is a Lanard First Shot (sometimes better found by searching for Total XStream Air as many sellers don't know the name of it). It has a similarly insane spring and ratchet draw. Definitely one of the most powerful blasters I ever modded.

I remember having the same model as a child. It really was crazy strong
Mine was branded as the SUPA SPLAT and would actually fire standard streamline darts very well in stock form with a better barrel fit than this and I did not need to modify mine to shoot over my house. Maybe they changed them over time ? The SUPA SPLAT's we had were red and blue, I also had the supa splat blowgun and the hamp style that I think was a variant of an existing marshmallow blaster. Me and my brother bought them to shoot each other but they didn't have enough power to break the 10mm paintballs unless they hit a hard surface. At the time ( this was 15 years ago) they also offered the chalk dart variant of these pistols Called the Wipeout, so maybe they were using the same dart optimized barrel from the Wipeout on the SUPA SPLAT's that I had ? The wipeout was from the same people who made the predator paintball pistol which I has as well, got it at goodwill and darts would barely fire even though some of the predators were sold with a pack of wipeout chalk darts as a bonus.

Oh hey I had this when I was a kid! After running out of paint balls I loaded it with steel bearing balls that I happened to have from a magnet set and they would shoot across the room if shot with a high arc.

I had me one of these things when I was a teen, Airsoft was in and I had this and a cheap 20 dollar springer. I'd load the pistol splat with a wad of paper filled with airsoft bbs. I'd use it then switch to the pistol. this thing was stupid powerful.

I think a bit longer barrel, maybe just 1 inch longer, drilling out the air vent a bit and having a plastic spacer in the back of the plunger instead of the heavy steel socket (making the plunger lighter=more acceleration) would make it easily go up to 160 fps, if not higher.
