On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

  • Aerospace Engineer here. Canards by themselves are not the determining factor when it comes to stealth. The shape of them, how well they are integrated into the airframe, the angles and deformations made in their rotation, and the surface materials are all going to play a part in how it reflects, scatters, and absorbs radar waves. Therefore, it is not that canards are or are not inherently stealthy, it is how they are constructed and integrated with the rest of the airplane that will determine it.

    @mavranoxrex9779@mavranoxrex97799 ай бұрын

  • For some reason this video gave me an idea. If someone developed a special device that mimicked the radar from a Fox3 and placed it on some sort of dummy missile that loitered in the battle space and just stayed locked on the enemy aircraft for a long period of time. The idea would be to just make his RWR scream at him the entire time so he wouldn't know when a real Fox3 got fired. Has this been done and would it work?

    • @@ricsim78 Not really, many stealth aircraft are often fitted with something called the Luneburg lens, which increase the aircraft's visibility on radar, when not in active combat. Even the F-35 sometimes haves these installed. They do this either deceive enemies of the stealth aircraft's actual stealth capabilities or to make tracking it easier during combat exercises. As you stated, since the J-20s were detected deep inside China, so they probably had these luneburg lens fitting on them. That's my two senses at least.

  • All things being equal, canards are less stealthy than traditional horizontal stabilizers, at least in front aspect. This is because they are your primary maneuvering surface and are constantly changing aspect WRT the radar lighting them up. Traditional horizontal stabs are shadowed by the wings and so there is more radar energy scattered prior to hitting the big stabilizer plate. But with a canard, the whole thing is face on to the radar without the wing helping to mask it.
