I have no real connection to Alabama but I adopted them as my college team 30+ years ago when they beat Miami for the National championship and won me 5 grand 😂 been rooting for them ever since and even went to my first game this year VS Tennessee at Bryant Denny and it was an amazing experience. Nothing compares to SEC big time college ball. Having said all that I’m rooting for Washington to win it all because it would be a better story with it being the last year for the PAC 10

I don't really have a preference for who wins. But I had picked Bama despite everyone else picking Georgia. Until Georgia gets over the Bama hump on a regular basis. Bama still owns the Bulldogs. They should have scheduled Bama instead of running away from them in the regular season. This gave Bama an edge and helped them narrowly beat Georgia.

UGA couldn’t just schedule Alabama if they want. SEC games are scheduled years in advance and are based on a rotating cycle. Alabama and UGA do meet in the regular season next year, though.

After schools receive the conference schedule from the league, they can go strike deals with non-conference teams to fill the gaps. Even if they could, why would they not want to? They have a 38-25 records against Georgia. An 8-4 lead since 2000. An 8-1 lead in the Nick Saban era, and a 5-1 record against Kirby Smart. Seems like an ideal opponent to me.

Man..watching this game over again and paying attention…I realized that we really bullied Ga. More physical in every way. Everybody raves about the size and speed of these Ga teams but always fail to realize that they copied the Tides blueprint. We created bully ball. When it comes down to it, nobody does it like us. Ga is one helluva team, immense talent, size, speed, and very well coached…and Bama is identical to that..just confuses me that people really thought Ga was going to just dominate us. Even before this game I never saw the huge gap people seemed to think was between these two teams skill wise. So glad my boys reminded the nation who Bama really is. Just a damn shame how many people wrote this team off knowing that that uniform still has that Alabama A on it. Roll damn Tide. The dynasty will live forever, and will never be replicated or imitated . Saban and the Tide has always been and will always be the golden standard of college football. I need all you arrogant GA fans to really understand that.

I must concur! I just watched the 1979 Sugar Bowl again just because I saw it on here. I was born in Montgomery in '67 & I grew up watching Bama play, & watching "the Bear" on Sunday mornings ( sponsored by Golden Flake & Coke) go over the game and what all happened. Back then the games weren't always televised like they are now. Half the time we would end up listening to a play by play over the radio. But even that 79 Sugar Bowl you could tell that most of the nation didn't want Alabama to beat Penn State. And they talked about how Penn State had gone undefeated but had never gotten a #1 ranking from the polls. When I was a kid I thought the polls were a stupid way to crown a national champion. But they said nothing about Bama going undefeated in 66 and ending the year with a #3 ranking. But also, when Gene Stallings & Alabama beat Miami, I was living in Atlanta. And I had just started renting a room from a guy I knew. Well some of his friends came over to watch the game and they were Miami fans. And I told them when they walked in wearing Miami hats "Wow, you guys are in for bad night!" They got mad and offered me a bet. And I said, "normally, I don't bet BUT I'll bet each one of you $5 a piece." There were 4 of them, so I took out a $20 bill & put it on the table. Each one of them put out a $5 spot. Needless to say, I had a good time that night and they didn't. But when I originally told them they were in for a bad night, I truly felt sorry for them. But when they got mad & boisterous and wanted to bet, I stopped feeling that way. And Miami's only td was on a kick return. And btw, my Aunt had classes with Joe Namath, she used to say that Namath knew her as "Moonpie" in college.

@@marruz0 Just to let you know, the SEC just got a lot more difficult!! No more are there going to be an East & West division. And now we have Texas & Oklahoma to deal with in the SEC. Previously as long as Georgia could beat Florida & Tennessee then they would go to the SEC Championship Game. While in the West Bama was up against Ole Miss, LSU, Texas A&M & Auburn. Now the division is over. The 2 best teams play for the Championship. Kirby Smart won one game against Alabama. Bama lost 2 games last year by a combined 4 points. And that was the ONLY reason Georgia won the Natty last year is cuz Bama wasn't in the playoffs. To be honest I'm more concerned about Texas & Oklahoma now than I am about Georgia. I think on most occasions Bama will outplay Georgia with Saban coaching. Texas & Oklahoma are both well coached & they both have always had an awesome program. And Texas is about to have the Manning kid playing QB. And he's been groomed since he was a kid to play QB. But idk, I think he went to Texas cuz he saw a better chance there to have fun & get away with it. Where Saban & Smart might be a little too strict. But most of Bama's offense will be back next year! And with that said, Milroe may have a run for the Heisman among other awards! And while Bama will lose a few first & second round draft picks on defense, I think Saban already has suitable backups with plenty of experience to replace those leaving & Saban ALWAYS does well when it comes to recruiting cuz he always has a true interest in the players & family's of the players. And their hopes, dreams & what they want to do or be after football. And Saban is good at teaching them to not only set goals but to have a plan to reach those goals.

If GA scores on 1st-&-goal, there's still 3: 25 on the clock and GA has all 3 timeouts. Plenty of time to make a stop on ALA next possession, then score either a FG to force OT or a TD for the win.

GA and ALA had 4 common conference opponents. That's 1/3 of their schedules. GA vastly outperformed ALA in 3 of those games and it ain't even close. Both played AUB almost identical except AUB had more turnovers vs ALA. Each faced another 4 conf games which is another 1/3. Of the remaining 1/3, both faced 3 FCS/G5 and a P5 non-conf (TX & GaTech). So 11 games of their schedules were almost identical for all intents and purposes. Only difference is that ALA lost to TX and GA beat GaTech and Vandy.

Football senses kicked in early, I don’t just watch the game and hope. I watch as if i’m coachin check this out: The Narrative that “Georgia stopped attacking bama after the first drive TD” is false. HERE IS WHY…. First possession Georgia motioned their slot receiver to Dallas Turner’s side to force him to guard the slot. Dallas never went to the slot off the motion instead he rushed the QB, so that’s why you can see Caleb Downs the safety was giving up 12 yard plays to the flats because there is supposed to be a linebacker shifting over but Alabama wanted to rush Dallas and Georgia wanted to take him away from the rush. So either Dallas rush the Qb with an open pass to the slot or Dallas plays the flat and now Carson Beck has plenty of time to throw because there are no pass rushers getting to him. Great Gameplan by Georgia. After that 1st possession you’ll see linebacker in the middle go out and play the slot so now Dallas was able to rush off the edge and Bama took away short easy passes and they were able to maintain the run as well. Great Adjustment by Alabama’s Coaching Staff

Alabama played a very conservative gameplan. It wasn't Milroe. Look at the game. They opened the Offense up and took a 10 point lead. Until UGA cut it to 3 they played conservative. Once they scored to make the game 20-17 Alabama opened the Offense back up and scored and moved the ball easily. I am sure most fans want to see a blowout but Saban has protected the defense with this style all season. Alabama gets a 2 score lead then goes conservative this year to run clock unless they need to score.

It never seemed like this game could have been a blowout with all of the overthrown balls & under-throws. 1:00:56 >> 4th down conversion probably wasn't so halftime score could have been at best 10-7, but there was plenty of time on the clock so possibly tied if GA gets FG or goes ahead w TD.
I don't really have a preference for who wins. But I had picked Bama despite everyone else picking Georgia. Until Georgia gets over the Bama hump on a regular basis. Bama still owns the Bulldogs. They should have scheduled Bama instead of running away from them in the regular season. This gave Bama an edge and helped them narrowly beat Georgia.
UGA couldn’t just schedule Alabama if they want. SEC games are scheduled years in advance and are based on a rotating cycle. Alabama and UGA do meet in the regular season next year, though.

After schools receive the conference schedule from the league, they can go strike deals with non-conference teams to fill the gaps. Even if they could, why would they not want to? They have a 38-25 records against Georgia. An 8-4 lead since 2000. An 8-1 lead in the Nick Saban era, and a 5-1 record against Kirby Smart. Seems like an ideal opponent to me.

Man..watching this game over again and paying attention…I realized that we really bullied Ga. More physical in every way. Everybody raves about the size and speed of these Ga teams but always fail to realize that they copied the Tides blueprint. We created bully ball. When it comes down to it, nobody does it like us. Ga is one helluva team, immense talent, size, speed, and very well coached…and Bama is identical to that..just confuses me that people really thought Ga was going to just dominate us. Even before this game I never saw the huge gap people seemed to think was between these two teams skill wise. So glad my boys reminded the nation who Bama really is. Just a damn shame how many people wrote this team off knowing that that uniform still has that Alabama A on it. Roll damn Tide. The dynasty will live forever, and will never be replicated or imitated . Saban and the Tide has always been and will always be the golden standard of college football. I must concur! I just watched the 1979 Sugar Bowl again just because I saw it on here. I was born in Montgomery in '67 & I grew up watching Bama play, & watching "the Bear" on Sunday mornings ( sponsored by Golden Flake & Coke) go over the game and what all happened. Back then the games weren't always televised like they are now. Half the time we would end up listening to a play by play over the radio. But even that 79 Sugar Bowl you could tell that most of the nation didn't want Alabama to beat Penn State. And they talked about how Penn State had gone undefeated but had never gotten a #1 ranking from the polls. When I was a kid I thought the polls were a stupid way to crown a national champion. But they said nothing about Bama going undefeated in 66 and ending the year with a #3 ranking. But also, when Gene Stallings & Alabama beat Miami, I was living in Atlanta. And I had just started renting a room from a guy I knew. Well some of his friends came over to watch the game and they were Miami fans. And I told them when they walked in wearing Miami hats "Wow, you guys are in for bad night!" They got mad and offered me a bet. And I said, "normally, I don't bet BUT I'll bet each one of you $5 a piece." There were 4 of them, so I took out a $20 bill & put it on the table. Each one of them put out a $5 spot. Needless to say, I had a good time that night and they didn't. But when I originally told them they were in for a bad night, I truly felt sorry for them. But when they got mad & boisterous and wanted to bet, I stopped feeling that way. And Miami's only td was on a kick return. And btw, my Aunt had classes with Joe Namath, she used to say that Namath knew her as "Moonpie" in college.

@@marruz0 Just to let you know, the SEC just got a lot more difficult!! No more are there going to be an East & West division. And now we have Texas & Oklahoma to deal with in the SEC. Previously as long as Georgia could beat Florida & Tennessee then they would go to the SEC Championship Game. While in the West Bama was up against Ole Miss, LSU, Texas A&M & Auburn. Now the division is over. The 2 best teams play for the Championship. Kirby Smart won one game against Alabama. Bama lost 2 games last year by a combined 4 points. And that was the ONLY reason Georgia won the Natty last year is cuz Bama wasn't in the playoffs. To be honest I'm more concerned about Texas & Oklahoma now than I am about Georgia. I think on most occasions Bama will outplay Georgia with Saban coaching. Texas & Oklahoma are both well coached & they both have always had an awesome program. And Texas is about to have the Manning kid playing QB. And he's been groomed since he was a kid to play QB. But idk, I think he went to Texas cuz he saw a better chance there to have fun & get away with it. Where Saban & Smart might be a little too strict. But most of Bama's offense will be back next year! And with that said, Milroe may have a run for the Heisman among other awards! And while Bama will lose a few first & second round draft picks on defense, I think Saban already has suitable backups with plenty of experience to replace those leaving & Saban ALWAYS does well when it comes to recruiting cuz he always has a true interest in the players & family's of the players. And their hopes, dreams & what they want to do or be after football. And Saban is good at teaching them to not only set goals but to have a plan to reach those goals.

If GA scores on 1st-&-goal, there's still 3: 25 on the clock and GA has all 3 timeouts. Plenty of time to make a stop on ALA next possession, then score either a FG to force OT or a TD for the win.

GA and ALA had 4 common conference opponents. That's 1/3 of their schedules. GA vastly outperformed ALA in 3 of those games and it ain't even close. Both played AUB almost identical except AUB had more turnovers vs ALA. Each faced another 4 conf games which is another 1/3. Of the remaining 1/3, both faced 3 FCS/G5 and a P5 non-conf (TX & GaTech). So 11 games of their schedules were almost identical for all intents and purposes. Only difference is that ALA lost to TX and GA beat GaTech and Vandy.

Football senses kicked in early, I don’t just watch the game and hope. I watch as if i’m coachin check this out: The Narrative that “Georgia stopped attacking bama after the first drive TD” is false. HERE IS WHY…. First possession Georgia motioned their slot receiver to Dallas Turner’s side to force him to guard the slot. Dallas never went to the slot off the motion instead he rushed the QB, so that’s why you can see Caleb Downs the safety was giving up 12 yard plays to the flats because there is supposed to be a linebacker shifting over but Alabama wanted to rush Dallas and Georgia wanted to take him away from the rush. So either Dallas rush the Qb with an open pass to the slot or Dallas plays the flat and now Carson Beck has plenty of time to throw because there are no pass rushers getting to him. Great Gameplan by Georgia. After that 1st possession you’ll see linebacker in the middle go out and play the slot so now Dallas was able to rush off the edge and Bama took away short easy passes and they were able to maintain the run as well. Great Adjustment by Alabama’s Coaching Staff

Milroe has got to play like he did against LSU. If he would run at times, Alabama would be dangerous in the playoffs.
Alabama played a very conservative gameplan. It wasn't Milroe. Look at the game. They opened the Offense up and took a 10 point lead. Until UGA cut it to 3 they played conservative. Once they scored to make the game 20-17 Alabama opened the Offense back up and scored and moved the ball easily. I am sure most fans want to see a blowout but Saban has protected the defense with this style all season. Alabama gets a 2 score lead then goes conservative this year to run clock unless they need to score.

The 2021 championship game went "the other way" because Bama's WRs were all hurt, just like Georgia's in this game.
It wasnt just the WR's. It was the Center, TE, both back up RB's, Both starting CB's, Both backup LB's and more. Bama brought half of the team that beat Georgia in that SEC game that year. Hell they lost starters this year as well. So its kinda different when it a player or two. But when you missinng half the team like Bama was. Come on man

Bro if we had an actual offense...we blow these mutts out. We're up 17-10, defense, gets a turnover and we settle for a FG. So many times offense could have scored and didn't take advantage.
