0:00 intro
0:50 my partner's family has caused issues in our relationship
6:23 if I caught my partner cheating, I'd give them a second chance
10:50 there have been times in our marriage where I've been severely unhappy
13:45 I believe the strongest marriages are based in religious faith
15:50 I know the number one issue that we need to work on
19:37 I make significant sacrifices in our relationship that go unnoticed or unappriciated
21:35 I sometimes fear I won't be able to give my partner everyting they deserve

  • A perfect marriage or relationship is an illusion; there's no universal playbook for making them work. What's effective for one couple may not apply to another. Nevertheless, I've come to understand that there's always a solution to be found. Half a decade ago, my wife and I faced such trials in our marriage that divorce seemed inevitable. Yet, through perseverance and determination, we navigated through the rough waters and emerged stronger, reunited, and more resilient...

    • @@gwen6937just curious where did he cut/shut her off in the vid? The reason I made the original statement is because Daniel said he’s willing to learn how to do her nails which is a GREAT option/idea financial wise and relationship wise bc your taking time to learn a skill to help your partner. But then it took the host to say “Oh but you want to go OUT and get it done”” and Shani to further elaborate that it makes her feel like a woman for her to agree with. That’s why I said it seems like poor communication on her end.

The only familial issues we ran into was on his mother's side because they are Jehovah's Witnesses. My entire family and his dad's side accepted us from the gitgo. We've encountered very little homophobia or racism in our decade of being married and we're both from small towns.

  • I get it that Gen Z and younger Millennials will be more open to participating. However, I'm honestly tired of only hearing experiences and perspectives of the same age group, regardless of the video topic. People above 35 exist and they likely have much more to share than young people.

Randy and Shani are like the perfect Hollywood couple and they put their Faith first. Joshua and Ilaina have so many inspiring stories to tell and Hayley and Daniel are winners no matter what challenges come their way.

    • It's biologically rooted in our species to be disgusted by such things. In multiple, replicated studies carried out over the decades utilizing MRI machines, this dynamic has occurred across nearly every single demographic selected to partake in the experiments. The only exception to the rule has been those who've had a TBI or a documented family history of mental disease. For anyone curious on the subject the latest attempt was published in Psychology Today back in 2016/7.

    • @@malice4422 Yes, but there are only a couple of those - most are kids leaving the "it's illegal to be this early" kind of comments. I don't think the ones you're talking about are necessarily prejudice though, but rather an observation. Someone doesn't have to dislike black or gay people to recognize that some companies/commercials/TV shows/movies/etc., are going overboard trying to represent certain people; many black & gay people recognize it themselves. It's been taken to an unnatural extreme, it would be offensive to me if I were gay or a minority.

  • All the couples seemed in very fulfilling marriages. I, too, wouldn’t accept it if my partner had had a relationship outside ours. As for religion, we’re both atheists. Fifty years ago, many young women were becoming feminist (I was one), and many women were working outside the home. Her question applies much more to women of seventy years ago and before that.
