Haha exactly, we are triggered easily
The Balkan League should have Italy's war with Turkey in 1911. The Bulgarians should have concentrated their forces in the east to take Constantinople.

If every country in the world claimed the borders they had at their height, then the whole world would look like the Balkans have at their worst.
@@johnshelton1141 you probably do not know, but the Bulgarian Tsar Ferdinard has had ordered special costume to celebrate his coronation of Constantinople. The war happened because of Germanic complexes because they wanted natural resources, they wanted a redistribution of power and colonies.

A joke summing up the Balkans: One day, a magical fairy (Samodiva) visits a farmer in the Balkans. She flies up to him and declares, "I will grant you any wish that your heart desires. But know that whatever you wish for, I will grant the same to your neighbour but twice as much!" The farmer thought for a moment and then said, "Take out one of my eyes!"
Lol!! Great one XD
That's funny because in 1014 Eastern Roman Emperor Basil II(The Bulgar Slayer) captured 15,000 Bulgarians and fully blinded 99 of every 100 men, leaving each man with one eye to lead the other 99 back to their ruler Tsar Samuel. Upon seeing his blinded army Samuel had a stroke and died two days later. The First Bulgarian Empire would end four years later in 1018.

A correction : First of all thanks to your comments I was able to see the mistake : The city of Xanthi was misplaced in Macedonia instead of Thrace. I am very sorry about that. I wanted to put Xanthi on map then I didn't, but instead of showing the town of Kozani, I copied the title from Xanthi without realising. I am very sorry for that, and I hope it will not trigger you so much :) .
Serbia didnt lose any battle in both Balkan wars
Thank you for recognizing the mistake. Also, the third "foot" of the Chalkidiki peninsula, featuring Mt Athos which is of great religious importance to the Greek Orthodox Church, appears to be somewhat disproportionately enlarged.
"Decisive Italian Victory in Tripolitania"?? Mustafa Kemal's and Enver Pasha's irregular warfare was able to defeat far superior Italian forces (since mainland Empire was disconnected to the warzone, Mustafa Kemal and Enver Pasha were sent undercover to organize a local force against Italians). War was won on land, however, lost in the negotiating table due to the Italian invasion of Dodecanese islands. After Italians failed in Tripolitania, they used their far superior navy (against almost non-existent Ottoman Navy at the time) to invade the Dodecanese, and to force Ottoman government to let go Tripolitania. Just wanted to point out this minor mistake.
You did well, buddy!👍🏻

When whole Balkan was conquered, Montenegro fight Otomans. Half country was never conquered by Otomans.
The most imported thing that haven't mentioned in the movie is that England back up Turkey against rebellion on Balkan
Zoran Ilić That’s true. Britain always supported Turkey because they had big influence there and are able to control the straits. This way access to Mediterranean is denied to Russia. When Turkey doesn’t own territories around straits they most likely will belong to Bulgaria (closest country). Bulgarians was under influence from Russia - common people and Germany - the Tsar and government. Both cases are not acceptable for Britain. That way 35 years earlier Britain and Germany were cause for Berlin treaty in 1878. With this they denied big and strong Bulgarian state with major influence from Russia (biggest player in the war against Turkey, which liberate Bulgaria). After that Britain continued to support Turkey but Bulgarians turn to Germany (Tsar and promise for united Bulgaria).
I think England didn't want to be forced into a fight.
SonofZiezi yes.Influence from Russia - common people and influence from Germany the Tsar and government. Both cases are not acceptable for Britain.
@SonofZiezi What made you think we liked knyaz Alexander (foreign dictator) or Stefan Stambolov who was not killed from Russia? Stambolov deserved his death big time.
I think what you didn't unterstand is that the ottomans were unable to Stop the Greek rebels.
There is a term for that called Balkanization, it is when a region broken up into small regions or states that are uncooperative and hostile toward each other. It is used often in geopolitical texts.
It's stupid term, because it should exist only if there is no major powers influence on Balkan regions. If our relations are the way they are just because of our mentality. I hope that you understand me.
@@PsyMOONze Nope its not stupid, its right What happend after the ottomans? Balkan was just a shithole for years to come. War after war and who was suffering? The Locals. And you now what? Its still did not recover.

My first job after graduating from high school 15 years ago was at a clothing department store. I worked part-time to put myself thru college. For one reason or another, there was a very large number of Eastern European immigrants from Serbia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Hungary, and a few from Croatia who I also worked with there. Despite some of their religious and cultural differences, they all got along with each other very well, and most of them were able to converse with and understand each other’s languages more than I expected (some of their languages were even mutually intelligible, in fact). All of them were extremely nice and supportive towards me, especially since I was the youngest and newest one of the department crew, while the rest had been working there for years already. I have a lot of respect and admiration for Balkans people. I hope that despite all of your differences, and painful memories from the past, that you will move in the direction of reconciliation, and realize that you are all more similar than you are different. The fall of Byzantium made Hentai.
It feels the Ottomans should have granted independence and then waited to build strength and reassert claim over the Balkans. In Bulgaria, the resolve to reunify all lands lost to the Berlin Conference was incredibly strong. In fact,Bulgarian resolve and determination to fight and die for the Motherland and reclaim the territory with a majority of Bulgarian population has been the reason why we were capable of mobilizing up to 1 milion men at the end of World War One. Bulgaria had around 4.5 milion people living in the final days of WW1,meaning that almost up to 25 % of the population was sent to the front and one man fighting with the determination of 10,just so that we could've reclaimed what we believed was rightfully ours in the past centuries. Now,it's all over,we can only contemplate and learn from the mistakes that were made in the pass. In Bulgaria,we have a special day to remember the awful mistake that was made after the betrayal and attack on our former allies. On the 16th of June,1913 the order to attack our neighbours on the former Western front came from non other than our Tsar ( King ).From that moment on,the 16th of June would always be remembered as the Day of Criminal Madness in Bulgaria.

Very nice video, thank you! Two minor points: The city of Xanthi is not as shown on the map (it is SW of Adrianople, way further NE than shown), roughly where Xanthi is shown most likely it is Kozani. Also, I understand that a 10-minute video cannot have much detail, but I would like to point out that the successes of the Greek army in Epirus and Macedonia were not due to the laxity of Ottoman defenses but due to a combination of battleworthiness, strategy (by Prince Constantine and his top-notch staff), good timing, and superb Government by none other than Eleftherios Venizelos (e.g. the capture of Thessaloniki was by a direct command by Venizelos - Prince Constantine wanted to go towards Monastir). Case in point is the battle of Bizani, which you mention, and which was against very heavily fortified Ottoman defenses (designed by German generals and engineers). There were also other major battles, like Sarantaporo, etc.
For all the countries was skipped but I get your point and I'm happy that you are proud of your achievements.
Excellent quality
The second Balkan war is very tricky, be careful ;)
Yeah, where Bulgaria attacked Serbia and Greece and Romania backstabed Bulgaria so not to invade Romania in case Bulgaria won, because let's be clear, if Bulgaria would had won the war, which they could, then they would had turned their attention to Romanian Dobrogea, that strip of land you can see extending off of Romania to the sea, and take it. Which was, of course, not alright to Romania
Alexandru Tănase Yup, Serbia made its job. They formed a secret alliance against Bulgaria, because the could loose in a potential war with the bulgarians on their own. Serbia made the things look like Bulgaria was the aggressor, due to the occupation of Macedonia, but the reality was hidden very well. P.S. I can talk so much about the balkan wars, i love history
@@manov_denis and what is that "hidden" reality?
@@Alexander99602 bulgaria could hardly win a war, they attacked serbian positions in a surprise attack and lost the battle, not to mention that they have promised Silistra to Romania after the first balkan war, which they failed to act upon
@@overlord4404 Ugh no, if hypothetically Bulgaria fought only Greece and Serbia, then Bulgaria would've won. Firstly that was never going to happen, since Romania had already declared it's intentions to enter a future war if Bulgaria had done started something up and secondly, the defeated Ottoman Army was finally mobilised in the european holdings of the empire and was ready to start an attack. But, for the sake of hypotheticals, Bulgaira would've won. Bulgaria broke through Serbia and was winning, same with Greece, the problem is that due to unrully soldiers and broken lines of communications, Bulgaria attacked Serbia with only 2 armies, in contrast to the planned original four. The other two sat and did nothing at the Northwest bulgarian border. But even without those armies, Bulgaria could've still won it, even phyrically, or atleast against Greece, as the greek armies were trapped in the Struma River Valley and were moments away from being surrounded, the saving grace being Romania and Turkey. So no, Bulgaira had it's chances.

@@Just_another_Euro_dude Montenegrins are often overlooked or even unpronounced in history but their actions is one of the first reasons for the fall of the ottomans
@Strainul Misterios they are still in Europe because the Western Europeans didn't had a traumatic vengeful need on the ottomans like for example the germans or the russians. If it was the case the ottomans wouldn't exist, just Russia alone or some muhammad ali boy were enough to destroy this empire for good
@@Just_another_Euro_dude Nobody is overlooking or undermining the actions of the Montenegrins. They are per default mentioned when he said “Serbs”
Amazing video, but i would like to point put small mistake. As shown in the video, Serbia and Montenegro captured territories of todays Albania. Those lands went to Serbia, but since Austro-Hungary feared to let Serbs have sea access, they forced them to give up on those territories.
Yep captured those territories after they corrupted one commander. During the fighting serbs and montenegrins left 15.000 dead to a guerrilla force.

Be very careful with part two and the war between Bulgaria and Greece. It all started on the border with the customs officers. The 2nd Balkan war is very tricky. Good job for this video! 👍🏼
montenegro is one of those nations that everyone knows can't do shit compared to their neighbors but has larger balls than all of them
They are actually Serbs or to be precise the best of Serbs
@@goxyeagle8446 Well said sir
True, they held back the Austrians so that Serbian soldiers can escape to fight another day. But truthfully, every single nation in the Balkans has balls... except maybe Croatia... Nah, they have balls too, a bit smaller balls, but they still have them.
Montenegrins are Serbs, they speak and wrote in Serbian and are orthodox. Unfortunately they’re too proud to be called Serbian, instead they prefer to be Crno Gorci. Njegos would be ashamed at what’s going on in Montenegro today.

The Balkans is a very sensitive area... many nationalities used to live together under the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) and later the Ottoman empire... separation was violent, people of all nationalities, Greeks, Turks, Bulgarians, Serbs, had to leave their homelands in order to form a nation state which was very hard and unfair for those who became refugees..

Greece was kind of left out. There were quite a few naval battles with the Turks, none of which were mentioned, and there was also a big case with northern Epirus, which wasn't even referred to at all. You mostly described the Bulgarian battles.
